Scratch Build Helmet
Greetings to the denizens of TDH.
I wan't exactly sure where to put this since I do not have a specific character in mind for this build yet. I have recently begun my first scratch build of a helmet after a lot of time studying the fabulous work I have seen here. Thanks to the amazing work by WoL this project has been made much easier than it otherwise would have been, so a big thank you to you.
It is coming along nicely and I welcome any and all comments and critiques. I started uploading the pics into my album on my profile here but it said the files were too large so I will need to resize them. For now, you can see the pics on the Mandalorian Workshop Facebook page, which is part of the Tampa Bay Costume Workshop Consortium. (Along with the Wookie Workshop, the Sith Workshop, the Wampa Cave, Rancho Vader, and the Wolf Den) I am also working on uploading them to Flickr so I will be able to put them right here in the thread.
Re: Scratch Build Helmet
Ok, so I fnally got around to posting my progress pics on Flickr so i can share with TDH and get some feedback.
My basic form I put together using foam board.
Putting the paper form on to start working with.
Getting the cheeks formed.
I used the dense craft foam for the mandibles and ear base.
I think the proportions are looking correct. At least to me.
Whip it! Whip it good! Hahaha
Let me tell you how fun this thing was getting it to look like I wanted!
More to come...
