Anyone know the difference between the deluxe and standard jango helms offered by rubies online/ebay? cant seem to find any information on either of them.
No, there is no difference between either. Dont be fooled by the picture they use to sell it, that is if you are trying to find an accurate jango helmet. People do get one, and repaint it for their own custom's, but they are pretty undersized, and overall, not a very decent helmet as is.
There IS a difference.
Standard is a two piece injected molded plastic helmet.
Deluxe is a one piece vinyl helmet.
so go for the "deluxe/collectors" as a starter helm, since ive got no +skill attachments for plastics =/
(2-piece looks horrible imo)
and i assume the "smoked lense" = the cheap 80's sunglasses lenses?
Anyone know where i might be able to find the cool reflective lenses for sale?
The "smoked lens" is more like dark tint lamination paper really. Just be prepared to do alot of re-shaping work. Its very tough because no matter how much heat you apply and force on it to make it look proper, it will always go back to it's original *rectangular/oval* shape without permanent reinforcment, like a curved metal bar keepikng the "flare" in shape for example.
As for reflective material's to use for a visor, I dont know myself, but Im sure others can help you with that. Maybe try finding different colored welding masks or something. Goodluck

here's a thought what about auto window tint, there's tons of reflective stuff out there, maybe it can give it the shine im looking for?
Window tint works ok, but make sure you get the bubbles out of it. Also, you'll want to put a craft ring in the helmet to give the base a wider flare.
Look at the following thread for help with that:
