Ordo Te'skotah's Armor

Thanks again... :cheers

Since this is a real USAF Flightsuit, it already has a ton of pockets, and so I've decided to go a different route with both my added pocket layouts and my lower armor. I modified the shin tool pocket pattern and added them to the outside of the existing lower thigh utiliy pockets:

The camera flash distorts the color a bit, the green is actually the same shade as the nomex Fligtsuit, just a different texture. The thread isn't *yellow*, but olive green. Camera flashes do some wierd things with some colors .

Also, for giggles, my name patch in Mando'ade:
(First Name)

The Flightsuit is actually comfortable to wear as it's own garment, so I figured I'd add a couple things like this for when I want to just wear the Flightsuit around. ;)

I made the upper thigh pockets a bit smaller than the pattern called for, and since there are other pockets already in the Flightsuit. I also made a special pocket for a multi-tool or pocketknife:

Knife/multitool pocket on the left, Thigh pocket on the right.

Today, I started developing my girth belt and regular belt concepts:

I still need to make a couple regular-style ammo pouches, but I figured I'd throw these that I made into the mix as well. I also made the belt buckle for the pouch belt out of 1/4" thick aluminum plate and dremmelled the groove for the border.

The girth belt is made from materials I had on hand. Dyed 1/4" cotton cord, scraps from the faric I used to make my cape and extra flightsuit pockets, oil-tanned leather, and a standard D ring. I'm going to attempt to secure the codpiece to the girth belt, hopefully to help keep both in place comfortably.

Got more work on the belt stuff done today... I plan on having the buckle in front, since it's a star wars style buckle I made from 1/4" aluminum. 3 of the ammo pouches on either side of the buckle, holster on the left hip, larger pouch on the right.
That's the plan, at least...

Started on one of my custom gauntlets today...
it's VERY rough in form right now, I'm designing the gauntlet
around the use of a datapad. Constructed from a recycled
computer tower shell. :D

As always, thanks for the compliments:)

More progress... I wired up a momentary switch for a green presentation laser pointer, which will be integrated at a later date. The mini flip-switch is for the single LED flashlight built in to the "dart rack". The gauntlet is beginning to take shape.....

Pretty kewl man.
Probably a dumb question but what kind of glue do you use?

You know. I have a couple Fiber optik cards laying around. If your going to make it look functional and have a plug in, you might as well use a top of the line fiber optic interface.

I use 2 ton epoxy... torx screw, allen screw, JB weld...

Is a fiber optic card similar to an ethernet card?

And the datapad *is* funtional

As is the built-in single LED flashlight... and the green presentation laser pointer(when I acquire that). Among other things... ;)

The fiber optic card looks like a 1 x 2 inch card (like a pcmcia card) but it has fiber output ends at the end of it, and it has heat cooling veins on it.

These are swappable cards for cisco routers. Ill take a pic monday and if you want it for your gauntlets ill send it to you. I was gonna put it on my gaunt, and then run fiber optic cables up my sleeve into my helmet, instead of washer tube, but my bet ended up getting stipulated 'has to be only boba fett'ish stuff and complete for $200. Thats a nother story ill post in a week when its done:)

I still have some filling in to do, and then painting, but I got all the electronics wired for my left gauntlet:

8)

The LED's on top of the gauntlet are actually the readout for a functional wifi scanner so I don't have to use the juice from the datapad to scout for a wifi signal. The flashlight is obvious, and the other LED's are just mainly for looks. I also have the wiring ran for a green presentation laser, which I don't have yet.

Are you planning on wearing that to work evey day? Because I think I would with that much functionality. It would be a shame to only wear it to cons.

Oh, it'll be for more than cons... ;)

But this...*is*... my work. :cheers

Oh... and all of the electronic components were scavenged from discarded electronics.
