Non-armored Bounty Hunter
Though it may be blasphemy in these parts, I'm considering a non-armored bounty hunter build. The south gets pretty hot, and my brief experience sporting an imperial guard helmet has taught me about sweat and claustrophobia. :)
So far I've come up with Zam (female, which I am not), Dengar (definite possibility, though he's mostly armored so I might as well do Boba) and Cade Skywalker. Are there any other human male non-armored bounty hunters out there?
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
calo nord? Chop'aa Notimo? both human male bounty hunters.
i think cade skywalker would be kewl.
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
I agree skywalker would be good.......or you could do a version of dash rendar
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
dash rendar would be awesome.
however, why not design on yourself?
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
Would he be missing legs as well?
*budumching!*
*wakawaka*
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
I think Canderous pre armor would be pretty cool (you would have to have the repeating blaster) or a Calo Nord.

Cade would be cool.
he has that Gambit look with his black coat :lol
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
These are great options, thanks!
Creon, I'm thinking about doing my own "generic human non-armored bounty hunter" build based on a Zeison Sha. I have already been working on a related suite of thermal detonators, saber, discblade, and sniper rifle. The saber and detonators are done, the discblade is halfway, and the rifle is just beginning. The only problem with doing a custom character is that no one knows who you're supposed to be, but at some level I don't really care about that. :)

Man, you'd really have to be buff to pull Cade off. ;) Can't wait to hear what you decide DragonStar!
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
Yeah, I'm not buff and I'm not blond, so.... No Cade I guess. LOL
I'm seriously thinking custom. Just some random Star-Warsy bounty hunter. I have lots of cool leather for shoulder pads/gunbelts etc, access to inexpensive combat boots, and a ribbed tan military sweater. I'll try to get pics of the half-finished discblade and the start of the sniper rifle. I'm using a collapsible aluminum leg from a voting booth, along with a walker leg extension and some heatsinks for the barrel.
Here are some tests of the detonator in different light:

Just gotta pull all this together somehow...

Here's a photo gallery of the rifle parts I'm thinking about:

Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
Dude, I like the VIBRATING ( ;) ) Thermal Detonator
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
Yeah, they aren't just for blowing stuff up.... :lol
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
where'd ya get those? My feet hurt :lol
but seriously, did you make them or buy them? I'd like to make or get a couple for the kids, they love strange toys. Gotta make 3 buckets for them anyway.
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
gotta say it custom rocks! if your worried bout people not recognizing you then make it "starwarsish":P besides it sounds like you got most of it already planned out, kandosii!!
Re: Non-armored Bounty Hunter
Hah, andonian, my kids are the ones who got me into Star Wars costuming. I know exactly where you're coming from.
Re: the detonator, I made it. Also doing a run of those detonators for some people in Rebel Legion, which you're welcome to join in. The run is happening at... wait for it... www.thermal-detonator.com . Or I can tell you what I did if you want to build your own. I had the shell machined out of aluminum. The cap is machined titanium. It is a simple circuit with a recharge port, lithium-ion cell, 3 SMD LEDs which I poached from a body light, a pager motor, and an illuminated switch. Be sure not to short circuit the recharge port or the SMD LEDs or you'll get a fried detonator for real. :) (ask me how I know...) Heat shrink works, but I'm playing with liquid tape now. Also thinking about a driver board to get better run times. If the body light is 3V be sure to use a 22 ohm resistor.
Creon, I have it planned. Still not sure, but.... I'm working on a sniper rifle regardless.
