I was wondering when someone would try a Cade outfit since he wears what looks like a new iteratin of mando armor.
Cade is in the new Legacy comic series and is like a grandson or greatgrandson of Luke. Im sure that I am off with that since I havent read the comics yet but the comics look cool. There is even a character modeled after our very own Clone Emperor.
hes lukes great-great grandson to be exact not to seem rude or anything heres a link to an article on him http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cade_Skywalker
oh he looks kool...got 'vader-like' boots too!
-Wulf
That wasnt rude at all, Im glad you corrected me cuz I had no idea how far down the family tree truly was. I honestly dont think the costume would be hard to pull off, good luck with the project. I look forward to progress pics and pics of you mando.
Looks like a pretty cool dude. Do you need any help on how to go about doing the costume? It looks very do-able. The waist-down looks like Vader, save the cod-peice.
ok mi amigo, it looks alot like Mando chest peice, along with Imperial guard stomach peices.... the bottom is vader, it just is.
i sugest maken this yourself, given no one has Kade armor. i could help given my Mando has simalar chest peices i made myself. Get Sintra, or PVC board. You get that looking in your yellow pages for a plastics place, calling them to see if they have what u want (i think its 1/8 u want) and then convince your mom to help you get it. it ran 60 bucks for me, but i had more then enough for 2 costumes, so you get alot. Then i hope you know how to use a dremel tool, if not no worrie just umm.. well practice? and if you don;t have a dremel i'm out of ideas
i will atempt to modify the WoL templates to fit you... so what S, M,L.. ??
as always, if i am completely insane tell me guys...
Im a medium and iv got a dremel and i know how to use it thanks for your help![]()
Sounds like Marx has got all the hard stuff down packed. Awsome summary there!
thats the same costume im working on too Nick =P
hes also a drug addict too oh yea and suicidal
Cool what are you doing for a weapon? Im making a Rawk Chopped Special replica and a DC-15 sidearm
do you currently own any costumes?
just wonderin
PM the pics
im getting a Rawk Chopp Special custom made and milled from a friend of mine as well as a custom Cade saber as wells as a Red EE-3
o i do so hope this works for yea bro. I'm no WoL, and would greatly respect any criticizem (ok ok engineer not english major!). I sugest you cut the paper out and size it on yourself first, yea i did the WoL thing and all you do is print it and it should be the right size. if its to big, let me know, let me know what tweeking needs doing and the inches if possable. I used Adobe Photoshop and WoL templates..... i do sure hope it turns out OK for yea!
i don;t know if they will print the right size.. o well give it a shot if not then PM me
ok look down, turns out i can zip the things!!
oo.. i can zip the things.. here Kaden chest.zip
o and does he have a back plate?... it doesn;t apear so.
if i get my camera working ill post some progress pics
That template seems to be wrong around the diamond area. The two triangles above and below the diamond piece seems to be cut into the armor, and it's only "painted" black because of the shirt underneath. Look at the edges and you'll see the edges are reflecting like the edged in the diamond piece area (on the mian chest armor):
![]()
aww.. i was using a diffrent ref shot, cause there it cuts off the rest of the armor
thanks for the catch!! so this zip has the origianl stuff i made AND the new chest peice. If its the wroung size let me know, and if anytyhing is missing or yea need help understanding the tmeplates let me know
thanks for your help Toragh!
Kaden.zip
the legacy comics have some pretty dang good charecters in em, i was wondering when id be seening cade and maybe even kol skywalkers runnin round lol
No problem.
Those earings shouldn't be to hard to find, even as clip-ons. It's a common style, and I think even my mom has a black and gold colored set. I think they came from 1928/2028 collection.
P.S. I onyl know this because I do christmas shopping, and I used to have to stay with her whenever she went to the BON. But now it's called Macy's.![]()
Again, no problem.
P.S. And yes, I'm still flumixed that it's Macy's now. So I just call it the BON anyways8)
its too big it wont come up it says it has too many bites
really?.. you unziped them and all?... hmm it should work. what is the exact message?
it says exactly "The image is too large. (Too many bytes.) its realy weird
.. GRRR.. ok its a Jpeg, it sould be 8.5 by 11
if same prob well then i gota reduce the resolution again!
hope this works for you, sorry i am new at the schematic makenin online. i susualy make them for myself.
chest.zip

thanks man hey what would you do for a rawk chopped speacil blaster heres a link to the page on ithttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rawk_chopped_special
thx hey what would you do for a rawk chopped special?http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rawk_chopped_special
sorry i posted it twice for some reason
BTW he does have a back plate see issue 0
![]()
i dont think those triangles are cut outs on the dimond area on the sketch Jan drew for me at Comic Con she drew them as painted
Now looking at that picture 3720to1 posted, it does look like it's just painted on. hehe Sorry
hehe Jan has given me ALOT of refferance
thx this is going to help in the long run thx![]()
GRRRRRR.. o well then drop a strait line and get rid of the cuts, or not and be diffrent, your choice.
u want my opinion on the blaster?.. or mister 3720 to 1??... cause he is sorta teachin me the ways of the prop build...
well screw that. I would start with a good refrance photo, then make it in a photoshop program (draw over it). isolate some lines and tubes and wala!! yea got a start. I would make the stock out of wood, the barrle out of PVC tubeing.... for both barrles and cocker and a few other circular parts. then whats left of you sintra plus a little bondo (3720 to 1 knows how to use that better then me) and you should have a decent gun... then yea paint
the back plate... 3720 to 1 !!!! got a refrence of the back at all??
... wait u asking for another diagram?
Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum, and to the real of costuming. I have decided to take the brave step i have been wanting to take for a long time and finally enter this world seeing as I am making the effort to travel from Spain to LA for CIV. I decided it would really rock to go in costume.
I have come up with my own character design, and am now trying to piece a costume together.
It seems I am unlike everybody else in thinking the the new SW Legacy comic rocks, and as I was deciding how to do my costume thought it would be cool to have body armour like Cade's. Is it ok is i use these templates here?
Also could this armour be made using the trash can method?
And finally what is the best way about going about making a vest? I really want a sleveles vest like Cade's, but all the vest plans I have seen are zip up at the back, I would ideally like one that just goes over the head, with no zip. (I hope everybody understands that).
Sorry if I have posted questions that have been asked elsewhere.
Pete
Hi,
Sorry to be a pain in the @ss, but could somebody please advise me on the best way to print out these templates, I am trying to use the first set Marx posted on the 6th. However they are huge, just wondering what scale is needed. I'm anout 5'11" and of normal build.
Pete
heya pete
when you make the vest just make the back one panel with out the zipper in it
i think in legacy 3 it shows the back plate
for the RAWK im getting mine custome made out of aluminium from a friend of mine that makes his own paintball guns
Hmmm Rion, making a Cade costume? Is this your next big project?
![]()
![]()
yea its been on and off since comic con
wait the ones i posted on the 6th are still to big?... but it fit in the forum!!!
aaaight dude ummm if it won't open, try it in photoshop. if not i'm sorry and will modify it again to make it smaller.... blasted photoshop... try the one link above the template chest peice you can see in the forum... that should work
Rion... yea we make this costume good when WE make it for yea... i want to help please??..??
korran: yes use the templates, the trash can method should work. cut out the template, draw it on the can, cut it out, shape it. Shapeing is easy when you put the plastic in the oven on like what 250? maybe lower. i never used that method so no clue.
Second, use the templates there here for everyone!, if you want a vest just slip over then you sew the back, sew the two peices together instead of putting in a zipper. If yea got a mom handy ask her.
They opened fine for me, if that's any consilation(sp?)
no im not asking for another diagram just a lil advice and thats exactly what i got thx all and it opens fine and ill just do a boba back its easyr than searching for my comic in my boxes-o-**** i just moved from portland OR to Asoria OR if any one is in that area plz tell me so i can get in person help.....
The Legacy series of DarkHorse Comics takes place 100 years after the events taking place in the newest Legacy of the Force books (You ALL MUST READ Bloodlines!)-give or take a year or two...I've been following them pretty closely, along with the "Knight of the Old Republic" comics as they show soooooooo many good images of ancient Mandalorians battle armor-and it is as unique and varied as are the Mando who wears it...Sorry for the novel, just thought some of you might want to look into it further for inspiration...

I love the Lagacy of the Force Series (Half way through Tempest) and I love the Legacy Comic book series. I would like to see or even make a Cade costume
Go for it! It looks like it would be alot easier to put together than the average Boba costume. Or you would think so anyway...I'm about half way through Tempest and I'm extremely excited by a long-lived character who actually saw Anakin Skywalker win the Boontah Eve(sp???) podrace in Episode 1, and has come into Han and Leia's lives-that's about as far as I've gotten...I don't want to spoil the persons identity, it should be a total surprise as it was for me. It made my day!

im interested as to see who is going the extra mile with this being that hes a Face Character =) ive got my hair almost to the right bleach stage still a bit yellow and goatee im also pondering getting his tattoo as well
I'm not acctually aiming to be Cade for C4, I'm designing my own character, who wears armour similar to Cade's, but with a different colour scheem. I too have been thinking of getting Cade's tattoo since i saw it in Legacy 0. I think it would look cool oposite my Mandalorian tatt, although it would add me to yet another faction as i have the imp logo on my right shoulder.
Well, I think i just about have the templates sorted, I have done them 2 different sizes, and just need to decided which fit best. I think the biggest problem is going to be finding the oval trash can to make the armour, as I have no idea where to begin looking in Madrid. If i was back in England, i wouldn't have a problem finding stuff like this, I might have to wait till I go home at Xmas.
For the vest I think i will ask my mum, while i'm at home, but I have the feeling she will laugh at me.
you would be suprised on how nice mum can be... i had to ask my mom to help me with my first projects and she was more then happy!
templates worked for you to?... can i say they are a sucess?
Ok, well i think I now have my templates at the right size.
After a weekend of searching Madrid for oval dustbins...I found none, the closest I got was ribbed, so gave up on that idea.
After an afternnon of seaching for sheets of pvc sintra i was finally sent to a place that was pretty much the home of plastic. I managed to pick up some 2 mm plastic. From my very very basic Spanish I believe that it can be molded easily with a heat gun, and painted with spray paint. Any way if it doesnt work out, and can just buy some more...it only cost me 3€ for a sheet about 1mx1.5m. So i cant really complain, it wont break the bank if i have to go back. But if i do i will be sure to take somebody that speaks the language.
So will post again once I se what happens.
some advice, though it's common knowledge so you probably already know this (I learned this to late): Sand the plastic a bit before you want to get the paint to cling to the plastic!
to answer your question yes they were a success and ill post pics after christmas thats when i get my new camera...so stey in touch....thx by

Thanks for the advise Toragh. I was going to start looking into painting the armour once it is all cut out and shaped. One of my friends is a good artist and has offered to help, and creat a design for me. Once i have some progress pics i will post them, although i dont think i will get much done before the new year.
All advise is welcome, even when it has been heard before.
.. oven? i know heat guns work and all but an oven set to 250, put it on an oven sheet and let it sit for a minit max (you should watch and test it) makes it like... well paper i guess. easy to form and quick to cool, then hyper cool it in some cold water (run cold water over it). keeps its form and everything!... that and if yea don;t like the way it turned out the oven is still on.
Thanks for the advise on that one Marx, but there is one problem, I dont have an oven!!! I know it seems strange, but many houses here in Spain dont have ovens. Common senses tells me a micro wave wont do the job, but u know what they say about common sense being no match for natural stupidity!
ah then heres the soloution if its going to be Sintra you are working with boil some water in a large enough pot then soak the sintra for a few mins till its plyable then shape it
Try a large turkey pan, that should be big enough.ah then heres the soloution if its going to be Sintra you are working with boil some water in a large enough pot then soak the sintra for a few mins till its plyable then shape it
bending sintra in a oven pan full of boiling what lead to me burning my fingers! ...and a well shaped chestplate8) ....(fair trade i think)....![]()
haha the bopiling water got me all wet when going to shape it upon myself..... use tongs if i may be so bold BTW... hahahahahahhahaha.. VOD white wolf.
Wow, crazy.....I too have decided I may attempt a Cade Skywalker.......My first open faced costume.I'll deffintly use those templates you guys have up there for my base. Thanks!
![]()
PM me pics now?
even if you have some saved on your PC already, or if you have a camera phone
Cade is a project I'm starting to work on as well. I can pull off Anakin as a face character, so I don't think Cade will be too bad. Hopefully Cade will be done in time for C4, but I'll have Clone Wars Anakin there anyway.
![]()
umm... i am very anxous to see any progress on this costume... anyone?
Sorry not made any progress recently, have been very busy. Was in Germany last weekend, and am now back in England (normally live in Madrid).
I have the armour cut out, it is waiting to be sanded then shaped. However my housemate wont let me sand it in the flat, and we dont have a garden\garage, so will have to go to the park some time.
I cut, shaped, and pieced together the chest pieces. I happened to have the right colour of sharpies, so I coloured the sintra with that temporarily, though I will redo it with paint, I think.
![]()
nice!
lookin good!
using the sharpies is fine and dandy but paint will look better I think
keep it up ! go go go!!
is that from.... from my templates????..... cause that armor is awsome!!! first time other then my own armor i have seen a mando style that isn't fett
but are the templates form the one's i made?
Yes, I started with those templates, and changed the sizing a little bit once I printed it out as I had them too small. I also decided to colour the triangles on rather than cut them out.
that picture of the armor looks very sexy! I will admit I am only 13 and I want to make a Cade costume because it won't be as hard my Mando custom! IN issue 6 it has a great shot of Cade's backplate, I'm gonna see if I can get that uploaded!
Shatir.... yea made this old smuggler proud.
that is awsome armor. Anything need tweaking on the templates you think?
i prefer the drawn on black, look beter personaly.
once again, made this old smugler very happy. Any other armor temps i should make? i;m no WoL but if they worked out thsi good i may start doin more!
Since I took this pic, I looked at issue 3 closer, and I have shortened the pieces leading to the shoulder straps a bit, and cut them on an angle. You might want to check that out in the comic and adjust your template if you feel it warrants it. I only have up to issue 4, so if I could see some references from 5 or 6 of the back piece that would be great. I had to pretty much guess from looking at the bits you see of it in issue 3.
here it is. I have a couple picks. the first one makes it look like there is a plate underneath the backplate. The other one shows Cade after he picks up a lightsaber.8)
Last edited by Darasuum_Verd; 12-28-2006 at 02:09 PM.
dude go for the first style back plate. since the front has "scales" you shuld make the back a 2 peice also. it would keep the semetery and feel
looks good! could you white out thos chat bubbles incase anyone is Spoiler Free
Well, I made the back in one piece. My first attempt was way too small, so I made a larger one. I can always go back and add on the smaller peice as well, but I think I'll probably just stick with the one. I really wish comic book artists would just define what a character looks like and keep it that way, however.
I wanna see pics!
I'm gonna start my Cade costume soon and am probably gonna wear it to C4 and by then I'll be 14
are you guys the only kade costumes made so far?... sorry it's a nice feelin that i made the templates... i done know why just pride i guess but if the only Kade's at C4 are you guys then i;m stoked!!
i to want pics man! in costume or lade out or somethin. and what u do about his shotgun?
I started looking for good pics of his gun on wookiepedia (because I dont have my comics with me right now) and I ended up reading about the Sith! You spelled Cade's name wrong
Last edited by Darasuum_Verd; 12-28-2006 at 02:04 PM.
yea nick tends to do that =P
Got my Vader shins yesterday woo all i need is my pants vest and armour and duster and im set
hey rion.... i go by Marx now actualy, since college and all
yes i can;t spell, and dude in 2 weeks i be free to help with armor, and get my armor mounted to chest which will be done tommorow
i will help with the gun in a few days when i get back on my other computer
I won some shins off the big auction site. I'm almost finished the armour. I repainted it, but I need to add buttons and side straps. I'll probably get some red material for the sash and wristwraps tomorrow. I'll get some pics up when the armour is fully complete.
honestly i would do leather for the wrists yea i cant wait to get my big ole cowboys(tombstone joke) sash that was my favorite part of the costume besides the belt
If you take a look at the pics posted above, you can see that the arm wraps are:
1) form fitting/skin tight
2) shiny red, hard to achieve with dye
3) one long strip wound around the arm, that's a bleeping long piece of leather
4) if it were leather, it would take away so much wrist movement
Go ahead and try leather if you like, but I defend some sort of shiny silk or other fabric for the wraps.
they wouldnt restrict movement at all think of them as bracers in functionality not hard to do at all
