Thanks Adonian! Heh, I was hiding from the whip... I imaged that a few of the cuts could have been lightsaber damage, thats why I made them so deep. It was really hard to make it look like just a plain old scratch.

Ok today I want to work on my Shin pieces. So I have an idea as to how to make them wrap around. Tell me if u think this would work or not.

Ok so I want to use the duct tape method. What i'll do is put on my old really tall sock. Wrap the duct tape around my leg multiple times to cover the area. Cu it in the back so I can get it off my foot. Repair the area that I cut to get it off with more ductape.

Then I will draw out on the sock with duct tape on it(hopefully it will keep its shape) the shape of the shin I want. Then in that area I will cover it with bondo, sand it, more bondo, sand it, filler, sand it and so on. So it will be nice and solid. Though I get stuck here.

How on earth am I supposed to get it back on my leg after its all sturdy? Is there a way I can cut it into 2 pieces and then some how put it back together on my leg? What do they do for stormtrooper leg pieces of getting them on, Im pretty sure they are 2 pieces...

Please HELP!! And I need to get something done soon otherwise I'll go back on COD4, which would be very bad..

Cut it along the sides, then take leather straps and buckles on one side and hinges on the other.

Thanks for the advice A'den. You guys are so helpful to me . Sadly I didnt get any work done, and won't for about another 2 weeks.

My girfriend and I have been going out for a while. And this week her parents were on vacation in Idaho. Well not IN Idaho, there were just driving through it. But yesterday I found out that her parents got in a car accident. And a bad one at that. In the accident her mom died, I dont really understand exactly how but the car appearently rolled. The dad is badly injured in the hospital. So yesterday night I had to go over to her house to comfort her. Which didnt really help because I was crying too.. Her mom was a second mom to me. So on Monday her and I fly out there. Should be back by the 14th, possibly.

No work will get done until then. So if you guys could maybe somehow keep the thread alive? Just suscribe so you know when I get back. But you'll probably be busy in Ordeyns thread, ha ha.

Well sorry but nothing to important got done today that was picture worthy. Though I have solved my problem of the wrap around shins and how to attach them. I figure that the easiest way to get them to stay in place and have a invisible attacher (is that a word?). Industrial velcro!! So whenever I get around to doing that. I've also decided that the socks wont work so instead I will have to use an old pair of pants to attach the duct tape to instead since the sock will try to go back to its origianl shape b/c it has to much elastic.

If I think of anything else i'll post it, but for now thats it.

Your other option is pop studs (also known as camping studs). You put one part onto some plastic and another onto the elastic, glue the plastic to the spin plate (I recommend E6000 glue, it's wicked strong!!) and you should have a more sturdy clasp than velcro.

Lol for a few days I had it sitting on my desk for encouragment to get my homework done to work on it, but it got to distracting and I had to stick it in the closet But hey its saturday! OK its just a few. but it's somthing . The lighter blue pieces will be the details of the "face" that I have. They are just glued on with elmers glue for the photo, they will be bondoed and sanded and painted a maroon/red color. The little "horn" that you see hanging out over the cheek will be glued down to the cheek so it will be form fitting. The sides will just have those 2 pieces on each side. I know you would be thinking, this is a tracker/sniper mado, wouldnt he have all sorts of cool range finders and all that? Well, yes, yes he would but just pretend they are inside the helmet maybe? I want it to have that sleek kind look rather than the big bulky ears. Big ears like on a regular fett helmet look out of place witht the fin I have on the helmet.

O and you see the strange little metal piece in pics 1 and 2? I pulled that from a cap gun! lol it looks kinda like a small gun. I was thinking of putting it on my gaunt, but I like my spikes better. Where and what can I do with it?

u can have other things added to ur gaunts... I think a small, side mounted blaster like that would work just fine, just mount it to the side. Assume that the spikes are in the 6 O'clock position, mount the blaster in the 3 O'Clock on the left arm or the 9 O'Clock on the right arm. Just a suggestion.

Plus if you look close enough at the custom skull I made, you can see that the skull is on my helmet, just split in half and has no eyes! Lol. ANd that little goatee spike wasn't there.. Well I didn't actually have a goatee a while ago so I thought i'd stick it on the helmet to make it seem more a like a face, I guess. lol

The spikes on the gaunts are in the.... 6 o'clock position, if you put your hand flat against your leg then yea its the 6... I would put the gun on my gaunts but it would seem weird to me to have something all around the gaunt, I don't want it to be too crowded. It is a sniper/tracker mando so he isnt a big bulky heavy mando, he has to be like ninja so thats why some things are so sleek on the costume.

My right gaunt is a flettchet launcher. Little flettchet tubes all around the gaunt

One of my best pieces if I say so myself! lol Yeah Nevu I get the light weight/sleek design. My mando is intended to be a scout/ALO (AFSOC model) while the other is a CQB expert (SAS model) There's a definate difference in the amount of armor and excess kit they can carry, one thing I haven't changed tho is the gaunts. Both have the heavy duty tri-shot and pred blades on the left gaunt, with a flashlight. Both are probably going to have the Dart and microrocket launchers on the Right gaunt along with a tactical display suite... which I have yet to finish designing.

I NEED HELP!!! Ok right now im trying to buy a t-visor but the measurments are so confusing and my bucket is actually kinda small... So im looking at t-visor.com right now. The dark standard visor i think will be to small. If i understand the measurements right my bucket needs/has this much room..... 11" (thats it the top part of the visor going from left to right) by 6" (that is the length going from top of visor to bottom). but some of them are giving me the thickness. But I need to know how wide they are, like in the | part of the T. Mine can fit/needs 3 1/2". Which one should I get?

I cant order a regular weilding visor because I have neither the time money or skill to cut that and tint it correctly.. AHH HELP!!!!

in dark green or shade 3 or 5 (depending on how dark you want it...). Then get a piece of paper cut to the correct size that the visor needs to be, trace it onto the visor and then cut with a pair of sharp scissors.

3. Uhhh which shade is darker? shade 3 or 5? i don't want people to be able to see my face, at all. But still be able to see out of it.

Shade 5 is darker than shade 3, and the green one is actually what I have in my helmet (not the same make, but it was called a dark green visor). If you look at the tab from the link I posted, these are advertised as Fett visors.

Alright!! Ok sweet i'm litteraly ordering that visor right now lol now i just have to finish painting it before it gets here.

Got some work done on the armor. In the first stage of weathering, I painted a couple of coats of silver. Tomorrow I will do that top coats of the finaly color and use the toothpaste as masking.

Now that I think about it.. I still have some sanding to do on the helm.. haar'chak. Ok what can u recomend as a good THICK primer. The material I used to build the helmet kinda had a hard checkerboard feeling to it? I need a thick primer that will fill that in so I don't have to put anything over it. my materials are low and money is low too. and just incase you skim this message.... WHAT IS A THICK PRIMER I CAN USE?!?

@adonian, you got the colors right, though on my leg armor that red strip isnt there. its just blue and black. but thats ok, actually it gives me an idea....

I'm out in my garage right now using my dremel to add the scars and eat up the sides of the armor (well not so much but so it looks worn down)
No pics yet sorry. But I might, I said might!!! so hold the whip.. Have pictures up tomorrow when I begin painting, again!!!

So onto buissness no work will be done today because I have way more homework than I thought I would. should get [I]something[I] done tomorrow whether it be more sanding on my buy'ce or just some painting. Though I need to either change the black to a dark grey or put like a red line between the blue and black b/c when i wore it once last year people thought I was wearing all black. ..

Aw I hate it when my thread goes to page 2 and almost page 3. -.- Well anyways I've started painting my armor again, I might be able to get some pictures up today since I have a lot of free time to work on my armor.

I was doing the pre weathering thing with the toothpaste and on my first test I had let it dry for almost an hour and when i pulled the paste off it saved more silver than I had put paste. Meaning that there was about a centimeter of silver that showed up around where the paste was that I didnt put paste.. Does that make sense? And any ideas how to stop that?

you're saying it peeled the paint off more than in just the area you applied the paste to, correct?

Yea that is right, sorry didnt know how to explain.. ideas?

Perhaps use less paste??? That's just wierd...

I know.... Though I did look at it again and found that even a little bit of residue from the paste would cover the undercoat and keep it as silver. I think I was just to messy with it the first time.

Unfortunately my visor that I ordered got delay and wont be arriving in time for halloween! *cry* I hsve no idea what i'm going to do for that. yup same here ner vod, If only I could tell u all the different kinds of stress I've had to endure over the years... stress from work, school, family stuff, deceased loved ones, money, WORK, it can pile up and get really hard to deal with. We're here for u.

actually ive found that TDH is actually a good way to relax and get away from stress. Calms me down so i can think about my problem, and then solve it

Trust me I work in a psych unit, you guys are all fine.
It's good to come here and just talk sometimes, it really helps with the stressors in our everyday lives.
but don't be afraid if you need real help to seek it before it's too late.

You work in a psych unit? I go to the English equivalent of them - CAMHS. Clinical depression and psychosis, which is why I tend not to get much done. I'm on 20mg of abilify and 30mg of Citalopram, used to be on 20ml of fluoxetene. It's getting better.

Just stay on 'em and you should be fine Celexa and Abilify are a good combination, Prozac is getting old and ineffective, although some of the older antipsychotics need to make a comeback since the new ones are too gentle in my opinion (Not for all patient mind you, just the rally psychotic ones).
I have so many frequent flyer's it's not funny.. We discharged a guy last Tuesday and he came back this Wednesday, heck one lady got discharged at 1:30 and was readmitted at 4:30... She refused to get out of the Taxi when she got to her long term facility, she started yelling and hitting the car so they called the police and brought her back.

The patients I feel bad for are the ones on Clozaril with NO effects, I mean there is nothing left after Clozaril and it's a dangerous medication, agranulacytosis is a BAD side effect.

Indeed, I heard they didn't want to put me on anything that strong. Also, Prozac tastes horrible XD

Well I finished paint my armor so all the painting on the armor is done. I only have a little bit of sanding left on the helmet and then I can paint it. Though I have yet to find that Filler Primer that Adonian pointed out. Wally Mart didnt have it. Gunna go to some other stores to find it.
