Thanks Clayster, I've been looking at the nylon, but I don't really like how it would look on my suit. I've thinking of ways to fix the attachment problem while making it look better, I think once I get my real gauntlets, that will fix the problem with the arms. For the legs, I was thinking of maybe getting some leather ammo pouches or maybe Jango-ish holsters to hold down the thigh plates and tighten up the leggings. Oh and on an unrelated note, I have question about Jango's costume, my sister has the Dressing A Galaxy: The Costumes of Star Wars book, and I was reading the part about the making of Jango's armor, it says: "The fabric part of Jango's costume began with a close-fitting undersuit in a Neoprene-type fabric to provide a firm base to affix the armored sections. These were attached using military-type loop-and-pin buttons through the leather jerkin and the loose-fitting cotton oversuit." Now I think I'm misunderstanding it, but does it say that the armor is attached with loop-and-pin or is that something else?

YOu could also cut little slits in your jumpsuit and run elstic strapping around your leg and attach it the armor pieces. The straps wil be unseen and it wil give a nice tight appearance.

i use TWO ways to attache my stuff, and it NEVER gets out of alignment...ever.

also hook and pin i think is VELCO

i use industrisl strenth velcro foudn at joanns fabrics, walmart, home depot etc. also bolted the top corners to the vest itself.

never come loose, and ive been kicked in the chest, and slid down hills on my belly, etc.

do this and you cannot fail

Industrial Velcro works great if you sew it onto your vest. Don't rely on the sticky! I use the slits in my jumpsuit method, and it keeps my leg plates tight against my body and is my personal preference for keeping the armor looking great while on you, however it isn't the most comfortable!

Snaps also work, and are probably the strongest method of holding it on outside of bolting it to the vest or cloths.

Loop and pin isn't Velcro though. Soon as I get a free moment I'll try to look it up.

One quick pic from las vegas during labor day weekend.

Definately a good looking custom mando. If you get the improvements done that have been suggested it'll be one of the best custom mandos I've seen. If you have any of the material you used for the vest I would suggest making a neckseal outa that. I highly suggest using snaps to attach the armor, they are easy to install and hands down the most sucure way to attach the armor.

Su'cuy! Good to hear from another fellow swg player! I've been making various adjustments, I've added the legstraps to my thigh and shin armor, I have a neck seal I bought from a member here, and I just ordered some more sintra so I can make the knees, boot covers, a new backplate (my old one cracked) I'm gonna do the swg style this time, and some gauntlets. I do still have some material from the vest, I was gonna make a neck seal out of it like you suggested Coyete850, but I don't know how, well my sister doesn't know how, she's the one that does my sewing. So I think I'm gonna make a cape out of it instead.

capes are nice. cant wait to see the SWG version, as im working on that myself.

we'd be the first two i believe!!! rock on!

Okay, now I have my third set to make... Possibly, I will try it as a First Attempt Test. I am shooting for a Jango Fett as my primary. I need to make a Femme Fett for my wife. If we have a SWG following building here, I think I would enjoy a custom-set as designed for my Avatar.

This Forum is Great!!! I haven't thought about costuming this much in six years. I am gathering my materials. First attempt will consist of the trash-can idea found in another TDH thread. For my Jango, I am trying to access an established vendor, so it looks right. I have some more research to do on the Femme Fett...

OYA MANDA!!!

I finally got some more sintra, but now the problem is I can't find templates for the knee armor. Does anyone have any? I tried both of wof templates, the jango and boba and none of them had the knees.

Just a couple of pics until I get my camera back and I put the rest up. These were from my brother's costume party at Speed Zone. I need to find some better glue to attach the elastic straps to the knees and thigh plates, they keep coming off after a few minutes. I use krazy glue, it worked well for my shins, they haven't came off yet. I also had some green, um, I can't explain it but some green parts over the knee armor but it came off half way through the night so they don't show up in these pictures.

I don't know why my suit looks so loose in pictures, in person it looks fine. Hmmm... I guess I'll tighten it up even more regardless, so it'll look good in pictures. I really need to get me some real gauntlets.

yeah what talon asked are you using strapts to hold ur shin and thigh armor in? they might help get ur flightsuit legs to fit a lil better.
