Need an idea on a custom mando helmet.

Hopefull Fett, if you are going to last around here you had better learn a little tact. In the short time you have been on this forum you have managed to rub several people the wrong way. I suggest you sit back, read the archives & do your homework BEFORE starting any costume & you will realize the commitment, time & expense of what you are getting into.

What I did was look at some other people's pics of their helmets and armor, then I sent them a PM asking about it and they told me a little about it.

and when I'm not looking around the pictures of armor and helmets, I just talk to other people in the Sarlacc pit and get to know the people a little better.

You guys it sounds like Hopefull may be just a little kid. Plus, he's home-schooled and I can say as a teacher sometimes home-schooled kids don't develop the social skills that regular schooled children do because they're in a more isolated environment (no offense Hopefull-just stating research). Come now, I know TDH is here for the kids too, not just for us "Big Kids". No pun intended BKBT. But speaking as a father, I know if my eight year old was on the forums and wasn't quite sure how to act I'd appreciate it if people were understanding and patient with him.

Hopefull, if you're not a little kid... :)

Good luck with the villagers,
Cruzer

Don't forget that as great as the internet is, tone/emotion can not be done perfectly. That may have been a curious tone of "Whats wrong with it", not an accusatory tone.
Getting back on topic now.
I prefer the red as well. If you like green, maybe you could try a different shade as that one isn't as good (to me) as the red one.

Yeah, I have to agree, I like the red and black myself. It's not so puky looking. If it will help to see other custom examples, here's a pic of the color scheme my son and I are doing for his armor and we'll probably end up going with a black jumpsuit like in your illustration.

Ah heck, PM me a shipping address Hopefull where you can get a package and I'll get you started by sending you my old Rubies Jango helmet (pic below). When you get it you can paint it whatever colors you want. Digital509 just recently showed my son kindness by sending him something special for his custom Mando, so I'm going to pass along that kindness to you. Be sure to thank Digital509 when you get a chance.

Later and take it easy on us bigger kids so that you can fit in around here...and I'd be a little more mindful of those smart-alick remarks so that you don't have a hard time making friends here;

Cruzer, that is awesome of you. Thats one of the things I love about this hobby, there are so many people who will go out of their way to share their knowledge (and sometimes buckets :) )
Your son's armor looks great. How old is he?

Cruzer your a stand up guy, I don't care what the Hutts say about you;)

I have a pair of blue and also a pair of dark grey coveralls brand new only washed(you might need to hem, but I'll ship em to ya free) I'll donate to the cause if cruzer is serious about his offer. PM me if you want to tell me what size would fit you and a ship to address.

Yeah, Pennywise, I'll help the kid out if he wants it. As a teacher and dad I've got this soft spot for kids, especially ones who are down with the Mando way.(y)

Remo Locke, he's eight and also down with having a custom Mando to troop in. He'd be the perfect kid if he wasn't such a pain in the butt...takes after me  .

All right Hopefull, sorry to take your thread. Here you go...

I like the proposed paint scheme of the red helmet a lot better, and Jonich's suggestion to make yourself armor from a trash can or large bucket is perfect for you cuz you'll learn a lot about making armor. Use Wizardoflight's templates and with the donated items you'd be further along than you probably thought possible at this point in time.

Later,

Holy crap! Hopefull, you freakin' lucky kid. A free Jango bucket (with RF lights, apparently), and coveralls?! Cruzer and pennywise, you are probably going to get a big cyber-hug when he sees this.

Maybe I should start back-talkin' all of you...:D Might get some good stuff. ;)

Cruzer and Pennywise,

How do you know this is really a kid and not some 37 year old guy with no job living at home with mom....?!?

  J/K!

All I can say is you two are awesome! (y)

Actually, he's probably 39 years old and still being home-schooled and I'll probably see the helmet on ebay in a week  . If that's the case, then he owes me a 24 pack...of diet Pepsi. Yeah, I could see myself getting scammed :confused . But hopefully Hopefull is genuine in his replies and requests. Plus he sounds like he's just a kid...I think??

woah, free bucket and free suit? I'll have to ask my mom about this, if you're serious.

BTW, I can truthfully say that I'm 16, and haven't scammed anyone in my life.
