    My WIP pictures... Pic heavy!

Hopefully ill have a helmet to show WIP pics of soon B^) and im working on a deal for set of armor so keep your fingers crossed for me B^) ha ha Any ways i just got in my first set of guns in the mail (have 2 more on their way) and i thought i would share pics of them along with one i picked up a couple of weeks ago at target on their clearance isle.

the first set of pics are a Lazer Tag gun i got off evil bay for a really good price (got 4 for the price one usually costs) its a bit bigger than i thought it was gunna be. the second couple of pics are a Nerf gun that works with the Wii remote. it was on clearance for 3 bucks so i couldn't pass it up. I just got finished sanding off the logos of the Nerf gun, next well be the lazer tag guns B^)

the last set of pics are the boots i plan on using if i can make covers for the logos on the back heal.

that light sensor is gunna be a pain to work around... any suggestions on what i can do with it?? keep it? cover it? take it out and fill it in some how??
the gun comes apart to be more of a pistol ... i think i like it better together B^P
in this pic it shows this thing that pops out when you hit the switch at the bottom of the pic... no batteries so i dont know what it duz yet B^P

not bad for 3 bucks just needs some filling in and adding a bit to the back and it should be a good hold out blaster.

ill post more pics of the guns once i get more work completed on them. B^)

for the boots... i got them here http://www.vixensandangels.com/Item.cfm?Type=21&v=1 unfortunately they no longer have that style but New Rocks have many styles that work
as for the nerf gun... im not sure what to do with it.. i have it all sanded, and i know i need to add something to the back part to fill in where the pull back was. but other than that i have no clue. any suggestions would be awesome!! B^)

    O M G !!! O M G!!! O M G!!!!!!

i had a slip from the post office on my door yesterday so i went by there to pick up the package... but the postman hadn't gotten back yet and wouldn't be back till after they closed...soooo i went by there today expecting one of my maybe guns that i had won off ebay... well i was right BUT i was also SUPER surprised to see two more boxes....

this was in the first box i opened...

I didn't even know he had shipped it yet!!

This was in the second box i opened...

i knew this had been shipped but according to tracking it was still in California

and last is something i want to use as a gun/anti aircraft type o thing...if i can figure out how to build a weapons rack backpack. (wanting to go a heavy weapons mercenary type of mando)

what do you think?? its missing its scope though but i got it for 4 bucks off ebay so im ok with that plus that's what the range finder is for !

now to go read directions on the fiberglass kit!!!!!

    /edit he he didn't know i couldn't do O M G together
    B^P

Oh My Gosh!! Dude, we are SOOOO like minded!!!

You might try a chaingun on your arm, I got one and made it out of, a carboard tube and some dowels.

If you need some armor, I can make you some cheap. P.M. me if your other deal falls through.

I can also make you a chain gun too.

Jango, technically it is actually correct, light itself has negligable mass, so there was "nothing", but you could see it is just a slightly comical way of putting it.

a chaingun would be cool but like i said above im getting old and once my other guns get in ill be quite loaded down but it is a good idea for his backstory

as for the armor... im sending payment for my armor on friday. so once that comes in all ill need is my right gaunt, soft parts (have a friend that might be able to help me out with that) leather bits, and knee armor (thinking of going with boba maker for those kuz they look darn good), and i may also see about getting one of boba makers holllow RF (have an idea), and also need to pm the guy with the holllow aluminum RF stalk. o and electronics... dang now that i listed what i still need to get it seams like a lot ha ha

here is the basic color scheme for the helmet, and the colors i want to use for the armor... i want to add something to the helmet and possibly to the armor but im not sure what i should do... i really liked Shado's 3 lines on her helmet so i want something like that.. not to big or bold just a lil sumpin to give it that extra kick! I don't plan on adding kill marks to the helmet so i really want to add something.

i got it from tk337 in the cargo hold. it was one she was selling B^) now i just need to get a right gaunt

also i put a link under the pic so you can see a bigger pic of the helmet colors though for sum reason it is still a lil bit small B^(

but the upper cheek part isn't black its actually the gray with a gradient getting darker as it gets closer to the outer edge, just like the red part of the cheeks, it goes from a nice dark red and gets darker as it goes up. i hope it turns out well B^)

welp i got my last set of pistols in the mail today B^) so glad to finally get them. they were actually the first ones i payed for but it took for ever for them to be shipped and arrive B^(

i haven't taken pics of them yet but i will tomorrow! to pooped today, way to hot out there and had to run grandmother around B^P that can wipe the energy right out of ya!! i also got the templates for a jango jetpack off Mano Merks and as soon as i find a printer to print them out i wanna try and make a scratch built jetpack. i also have an idea for a hand held protocol droid (like the one Lowbacca uses in the Young Jedi Knights books) but ill take pics and see what yall think

also i sent payment for my armor and i hope it comes soon!! once it arrives ill take pics, and if its as good as the finished pics look ill let you all know where i got it from. its fiber glass armor and it looks like its good quality. i just hope it is

Edit: forgot to mention ive been working on my bigger guns this past week, got the red dome censor thingy cut off two of them and took out a few inside bits to keep it form vibrating and making a bunch of noise. now it only lights up like its sposta (power bars and ammo indicator along with what i guess is a venting action in the handle) ill post pics as soon as i get more headway on them B^)

ok well i did a lil work today on my nerf gun... got it primered.. gotta say its lookin good. also painted my M-P-D mobile pocket droid used for translating and slicing also took pics of them and my new guns. i now have 6 guns one small holdout type, two pistols, two carbines, and a bazooka type i have a rifle on its way and then im DUN with guns!!!!

just need to do sum filling on the nerf gun and it will be ready for paint, though i don't plan on doing much other than painting it black with a few dark red highlights. the carbines are ready to start filling as well then i can primer them up and paint them as well... i hope to work on that this weekend. the pistols... heck don't have to do a thing to them so they are ready the MPD just needs a few dark red highlights added and a 9V battery and it will be ready.

    o here are the pics

MPD he he its the lazer tag sensor!

    new pistol

    and nerf

If you're going to use the laser tag stuff, could I suggest that you do something to make it look a bit different to painted laser tag stuff. I think I read somewhere that people trooping are getting kids recognising some of the stuff they are wearing because they have the same thing at home and it's not quite starwars to have kids name the items that make up your outfit.

Feel free to ignore my advice, it's your suit after all, but I hope you can see that, despite any budget, if you want to do it, it's best to make it your outfit, not an outfit of parts you found.

he he actually its very starwarsy for kids to name the items of star wars outfits i remember when i was little i knew what they used for Hans gun freaked my mom out too. but i know what you are saying and i was planning on doing more to the star sensor but the gun... not so much, it already has a scope and it looks sleek so if i add anything to it it will look odd. i am thinking of painting the bottom barel at the end the same as the star sensor (a hammered metal) but not quite sure yet. also that older lazer tag stuff is almost 30 years old i don't think many "kids" would have them much less know what they are as for the newer lazer tag stuff im changing them quite a bit, and to be honest i don't think they were made for kids these things are huge and quite heavy, i was actually surprised when i opened them up.

if you have any suggestions though on what i could add to anything please let me know!! any and all help is greatly appreciated

Well a strip over the centre of the sensor to cover the triangular marks, some knicks and knacks from other pieces, like radios, calculators and other toys. It depends which era your mando will be from, if it's the Empire era then everything is functional and a bit clunky as compared to the graceful look of the old republic era.

Perhaps you could put a hand grip and hold, like the pistol grip on one side, if it's a translator perhaps it was designed to be held. You could even ad wires and an arial so it can pick up wireless frequencies. Things like that, think about how it works and what it would viably need to work and see if you can find a neat way to fit it into the overal design.

That's the fun thing about creating anything

ha ha at first i thought you were talking about the gun and was like...What sensor he he then i realized you wer talking about the translator

B^) the grip thing sounds cool but its more like Lowbaca's where is just clips on the belt (or later on in the books he got repulseor jets and was able to fly around on his own) the ida was its a droid much like C3PO and can talk and hold a convo if it so pleases

i was thinking about an antina of some sort on the side or back and like i said i plan on adding more paint to it to help make it look a bit different. what i would like to do is get sum retractable wires to put into it for the sliceing part but im not sure what kind of ends to put on them or if it woud even fit inside B^)

Was out running around today picking up paint and looking for masking fluid. Got both and i was close to a yarn store (Jo-ann fabric store he he) i thought i would stop in and see if they had a pattern for a jumpsuit... as i was pulling into the parking lot it hit me that there was an army navy store down the street so i thought i would check there first. well i was surprised to find one that fit and that was under 50 bucks i also found an ammo belt there for 15 so i got an ammo belt and a jumpsuit for 50 bucks and i picked up extra paint and the masking fluid.

now i need to find a pattern for the vest or find some one that can make one B^) and ill almost be there.

welp due to having to work over time the past two weeks i haven't made much progress. the only thing ive been able to do is work on the starlight pro riffle, i cut the front grip off and covered the two holes, and i have primered it. i also cut the slots out of the back armor for backpack straps. and that's about it. i did get my T visor in the mail today so ill be drilling the holes for that o and i got the screw thingys (forget what they are called, i know they have a city's name but for the life of me i cant remember it) my knees and a new RF should be arriving today or tomorrow so im happy about that as well i almost have every thing i need other than electronics for helmet and chest LED. its raining here now so i cant get out the bondo just yet to work on other guns and helmet nor the fiberglass

i saw this one chest LED that a guy had over in the cargo hold and it looked awesome!! just gotta figure out how he did it or what he used

also is there a pattern for a flack vest anywhere?? ive looked at MM but didn't see it... then again i miss things right in front of my face all the time he he but if any one knows of one and could point me in the right direction that would be supper great!!! B^)

ok gotta ask... just what is Greebles??? is that just another word for bits and bobs???

as for the riffle i dont think ill be adding much to it...maybe try and make a cover for the switches on the side but thats about it B^(

i went to the yarn store again with my grand mother (she needed to get sum more yarn ) and i found sum nice looking fabric for a flack vest, two different kinds of fake leather. i think it might look good with the armor and jump suite. i just need to find a darn pattern to make it from

more over time for the next 3 weeks so prolly not much more will take place B^( i hope the rain stops here so i can put another coat of primer on the riffle and do first coat on armor. i may ask a friend of mine if i can bring my bucket over to his house and barrow a spot in his garage to do sum glassing and then bondo it a bit. i really want to be finished by October. im so close to having all my parts i can almost smell it

also have an idea for my helmet that i would like to run by yall.... ive been trying to think of something to add to it to make it....well different and since im using a lot of the old laser tag stuff i thought of kinda incorporating the logo onto my helmet... basically taking the W looking logo and cutting it in half so there is a triangle in the middle with a sideways diamond on either side. i was thinking of using mat board so it sticks out a little bit. what do yall think?? ill try and draw it on the helmet template and post the pic on here... but im not to good at drawing strait lines in photoshop

o P.s. what should i use for a gurth belt err. i think i used the wright name for it... i think i read some where that someone used climbing rope to make one... but how to you take it off and on?? just wrap it up to put it on each time and unwrap it when you want to take it off?? so confused he he

A greeble is a small piece of detailing added to break up the surface of an object to add visual interest to a surface or object

Re: My WIP pictures... Pic heavy!

ive been a lil busy workin on my armor the past few days.. i now have all body armor primed and painted silver and got second coat of fiberglass in the bucket!! tomorrow i should start the bondo of the helmet and then all i need to do is get my measurements so i know how much fabric i need for the flack vest, reshape one of my gauntlets (the thing is huge!!!) and prolly cut some of it down, primer and paint those then i get to cut out the T visor and key slots of the helmet B^)

also found sum satin gray spray paint that's not primer i was starting to think i was going to have to use gloss so hopefully ill have that on my armor tomorrow depending on how fast the rubber paint stay dries B^) then i have to figure out what kind of design i want to have on the armor with the deep red he he

    getting close!!!

also need to thank my friend for letting me use his garage!!! much better than using the lil back porch of my apartment

Re: My WIP pictures... Pic heavy!

well i had a few mistakes the other day while working on my armor/helmet. the first one was i didn't put enough hardener in the resin so i brushed some extra on and i hope that works to help set it nice and hard. second i found out that you shouldn't hold a bottle of paint stay in between your legs... spillt it all over my crotch so now i have rubber crotch BUT the good news is i have the first coat of paint on my armor!! and i cut down the hand armor kuz it was way to big for my hands i would say i cut about .25 off but now they are the perfect size! i had planned on bondoing my helmet today and also working on my guns with the bondo but it raining cats and dogs here so i don't think ill be doing that today B^( also had a flat tire so that didn't help either hopefully the sun will be out tomorrow and ill be able to get some work dun!
o and i also picked up the fabric for my flack vest and Kama!! now i just need to figure out all the measurements and how it all goes together to get it sewed up! hopefully ill have some pictures soon!!

    wish me luck!

B^) also have the rifel 90% finished just need to add some red paint to it, and the other guns are almost 50% finished just need to do sum sculpting with green stuff and bondo! B^)

well did a lot of work on my bucket today B^) i must say my hand and arm has never been so sore than it is right now!!! gaw i did a lot of sanding on the key hole slots and the drimmel tool about killed my arm too

i was a lil upset at first kuz i didnt have my camera with me to take pics of the bucket so far... then i remembered my phone has one

so here are the pics of the bucket right before i put on the first coat of primer!!

    ]

    what do yall think?? ???

i used mat board and super glue then sanded it down and used a lil bit of bondo to fill in small gaps

Re: My WIP pictures... Pic heavy!

well i have some sorta bad news

i was applying the third coat of paint to my armor today and noticed it was starting to rise up and crinkle i even tried using primer then the new coat of paint and even the primer crinkled, not as much but still its noticeable i hope tomorrow when i add the last coat of paint it will look ok but im not getting my hopes up to high B^( if it looks as bad as i think it might i may have to sand everything down or use acitone to strip the paint off of everything and start over. im using rustolium and crylon spraypaint the primer, and silver are rustolium, the gray, black and red are crylon no problems till i put the black on top of the gray B^( even the red ontop of the gray did the same thing. im not sure what to do if it ends up not looking good and i have to strip it and start over

any help or ideas would be great!!! has anyone els had this problem?? if so how did you fix it?

Re: My WIP pictures... Pic heavy!

just got home from working on my armor and im darn close to having it all painted up!!!

the bucket is about 95% painted just need to add some wash to it for more weathering and it will be ready for the T visor

armor is about 80% finished just need to add the red paint to it then the washes

Gauntlests are 100% painted and ready to wear... no greebles and no darts/rocket though these are just for Halloween because they are not that great of gauntlets the right one is a bit big and the left one's bottom half is badly misshapen so its super tight on the wrist. i will be upgrading them SOON i hope

knees are 100% painted just need to add the darts to them and they will be ready to go!

my rifle is just about finished it just needs a lil bit of red paint and it will be finished as well, and the hold out blaster (Nerf Gun) is sitting at the half way point. i just need to do some sanding to round out the end of it where i filled in the hole with bondo and then paint it up and it should be complete as well... the other two medium guns i have are.... well not so far along i need to do a lot more work on them to have them looking up to snuff. they may not be finished by Halloween but they should be finished soon after

The only problem i have right now is keeping the paint on the trash can parts.. my thigh armor wont hold the primer at all it seamed like it was all ok up till i pealed off the tape, when i did that the paint came with it so i had to sand it/scrape it all off to start again..... any o yall know what i can to do to keep the paint on the darn things???

o crud i forgot to mention if you all have a Harbor Freight Tools store around you, you should check them out!!! they are super cheep on many power tools!! i got a heat gun and a new airbrush for 9 bucks each and this new airbrush ROCKS!! i was having problems with my other one and the paint i was using but this new airbrush gave me NO problems at all!! plus it came with like 4 extra paint canisters. This store also had a lot of nifty bits and bobs for greebles and i found sum things that look like they would make good knee darts... not sure thought i need to check the sizes and see if they will fit.. but any ways they were much cheaper on all their stuff than wal-mart or home depot!

in fact here is their websight i just found in their ad! www.harborfreightusa.com B^)

well paint wasn't quite dry yet B^( stupid gloss red paint is taking for ever to dry so i couldn't take off all the stay. and i will have to do a couple lil touch ups where i rubbed some red paint where it shouldn't be hopefully it will be dry tomorrow to where i can do some washing and then seal it then i can take pics. but i did get the last coats of paint on the rest of the armor and was able to untape it B^) i must say its looking quite good right now i just hope it still looks that good after the washes and sealant. i just wish i could have found a nice flat red paint... this gloss is just NASTY!! dont want to dry fast and is sticky all the time B^(

From what I have seen on the t-visor.com site try 5 minute epoxy all the way around where the t-visor will be joined. Should work out. That is what I am planning on using if I do ever get a t-visor LOL!

Great paint job also vod! Love the overall design and colors!

well i got the T visor in...... i should have went with the 1 minute epoxy!!! B^P my arms are killing me and after about 5 attempts and also a mild heart attack when i thought i ruined my visor i finally got it in and sticking! and it dont look to bad, not as good as i really wanted though. THAT was the hardest part so far it took me about a good 2 hours to finally get it in and set. i ended up trimming about quarter of an inch off the two ends and that helped out a lot.

anyone know of a good place to get a RF stalk?? preferably hallowed out?? there was a guy on here that was selling aluminum ones but he never returned my PM.. that really sucks kuz he dont live to far from me

You know I was thinking about the stem for the range finder but I figured why not and use something else. Go get yourself a Captain Rex helmet; it has the stem and the finder; and you can see through it too LOL! It is up to you. I am planing not going with the range finder rather I am going to do what the clones do when they enter dark places. Put on two lights. That will look good for my helmet. LOL!

welp i had a bit of a small heart attack today while working on finishing up my armor... all i really needed to do to it was seal it all up with a mat clear coat sealer i had... all went well out in the garage till i came back out to check on it and see if it was dry...when i went out there i saw all my armor looked powdery and smoky looking.... I freaked picked it all up and brought it inside under a good light and my heart just sank!!! it all looked ruined again!! i was thinking i was going to have to sand it all down AGAIN and start all over AGAIN! well i thought i would try a couple of things first i got a paper towel damp with rubbing alcohol.. that worked till it died B^P but then i thought i wonder if i try spraying more of the sealer on there if that would work so i tested a small spot and it worked!! i think it messed up because of the humidity here right now... its been raining all dang day! so after getting a lil high on fumes (kuz i sprayed it inside!! he he) the armor was saved but im out of the sealer and still have cod, chest diamond, and back plate to seal up. B^) but that was my adventure for the day!! B^P

That is why I have decided not to use a RF stalk for mine. I actually came up with an idea of using something that glows that would act like a device that would give my helmet the look of some kind of H.U.D.

the first set of pics are a Lazer Tag gun i got off evil bay for a really good price (got 4 for the price one usually costs) its a bit bigger than i thought it was gunna be. the second couple of pics are a Nerf gun that works with the Wii remote. it was on clearance for 3 bucks so i couldn't pass it up.

cover the sensor up with painters tape

ok here i am at work! this was at the end of the day and my belt had worked loose some how the flack vest i know is a bit long and i need to shorten it a bit but i have to say my mom did a bang up job on it!! its a black woven plether martial with an ostrich leather type of pleather for the shoulders and a red fake swede for the trim... it was super hot so i didn't have it on sept for when they were taking pics of us B^P

the kama is made the same way sept the inside is lined with the ostrich type. i also now have thigh armor but the Velcro wouldn't stick very well because i washed the flight suit and used fabric softener B^P who knew!?!?!? so i need to actually sew it on.. same with the dang knees! i was so upset!
the neck seal will be made of the red swede material to bring it all together. it was about half way made but not completed in time

well ive been gone for a while due to work and personal drama B^P but im back and i have worked on a few of the odds and ends though i still need a couple of lil things to complete it all. i still need to figure out how to make a gerth belt and i really need to replace my gauntlets... that left one is just way to small B^( also im having problems with my T visor.... its coming loose, im thinking of getting more of the Chicago screws and just using washers to fill in the gap... im not real sure what to do B^(

this year i went to TN to visit my lil sister on Halloween so i took my armor with me... had a blast walking around bill street.

ill post some pics later of the few things ive finished up since the last time i posted in here... there isnt much but there are a few things B^)
