the armor pics were taken right when i got my armor,and the gauntlet ones were taken today,just a few minutes ago..

note: the gauntlets are not painted.
my colors for my mando: black vest,blue armor,black trim on armor,blue jumpsuit.

i still need to get :boots,helmet,mohiar belt,vest,leather belt and pouches...i think thats it

don't forget to cut out the areas for the chest display lights (even if you back it so that it's solid like Jango's) and add the parts to the central diamond. It's detail like that, that finishes armour and makes it look more realistic to the movies.

well that sounds kinda hard for my skills,and also...does every mando have that?,becuase if your a different type of mando,i dont think you would want lights from your rangefinder or from your armor
it would give you away if your a hunter..or a sniper even...so i am just wonderin

it's funny, i just got the same sets of armor in the mail today, so my gear currently looks the same as yours. i like how you did your gauntlets, those are pretty cool and original. and i agree on at least cutting out the slots on the armor. i'm going to try to lay my hand on a dremel tool for just such a reason. details are everything.

I have a couple of sets of his armor (clone trooper custom, and a boba suit)
that I would like to sell. Its great for a beginners halloween costume and im sure if modified enough could be an awesome suit of armor.

as you can see the lights are from the nerf gun,and the e-11 also lights up (toy)
i didnt show the picture of the e-11 with its lights on,just because everyone knows it,but no one uses one of these nerf guns..the nerf gun also includes a rail system...a rail system on a dart gun! so i willl put a scope or something on it.
and the e-11 i may mod with some vauum cleaner parts so it will be my own blaster

well i bought some canvas for my kama, and cape, so any suggestions on that would be good

yesterday i soaked the fabric in tea, and rubbed coffee into it, although the coffee doesnt do much at first glance it does add something that i like. I also experimented with burn holes, and it looks great

i have visited clonetroopers.net for the kama stuff, looks pretty simple but i dont have a sewing machine so i cant hem the edges, that way it doesnt unravel on me.

any suggestions?

jumpsuit-have had for a while
armor- just needs snaps, and knee armor still needs to be painted
helmet-being built right now, or its on its way to me
gauntlets-need trimming from the back since they are a lil big for me

kama-soak in tea, coffee, acrylic washes, burn holes
cape-same as above ^^^, except i wont use the boba fett method of attaching the cape, but i dont want to make it look like theres a string around my neck, so i will need to hide it somehow

today I got my fang helmet, so i cut out the visor, cut out the slots in the back, trimmed and sanded it, so PICS (i still need to bondo the dent in, dont say i need to, i will do it tomorow!)

i am also going to trim my armor even though i already painted it, it is really bugging me, so i am just gonna sand it a bit with the dremel, and maybe sand the bottom ab piece a bit more than i already have (not shown in pics).

Yep, lots of us use Nerf blasters of one variety or another. I'm still not sure what PM designation my Nerf blaster falls under with the flechette missile launcher beneath the barrel. It's still unfinished as I have some weathering and detailing to do yet, so don't judge the paint too harshly. Oh, and the pinkish colors aren't on the blaster. I loaned out my camera equipment and enough said...:doh I'll get some better pics once I get it done. I also have a Nerf CS-6 which I've just about finished chopping it apart so it doesn't look exactly like all the others folks. So there are definitely more of us that are using the Nerfs and some have become really cool props. I've made about a half dozen pairs of these blasters-I don't know what to do with them all!:lol I can't wait to see Cylrul's progress on his Nerf to see what he has in mind for it. Once it's done you'll be a fellow Nerf Herder!:D

I don't have so much advice as I do an idea. I always thought that it would be one heck of a cool thing if you could somehow get the triangles above the visor to light up.

that should be simple, but i am talking paint, where to put blue, where to put black, stuff like that

First and foremost with a resin helmet (or anything else made of similar material) is do not drop it...:lol As far as customizing your bucket, I'd recommend (if I haven't already) buying the past few issues of Knights of the Old Republic comics. They show several pages full of ancient Mandalorians. If you look closely you'll notice that they're armor is vaguely similar but it seems that most Mandalorians from past to the future can have radically different armor. So that's set me thinking about how "custom" my custom really is...It seems that many of us have created a "custom" that's essentially Boba although the armor is colored differently...Sorry to rant a bit, I thought it might be helpful to remind us that the Mandalorian spirit tends to breed Individualism. Hopefully some of my ideas may live up to that spirit and prove to be original...

Make the main color black, otherwise the blue will just look out of place with your current color scheme. Here's a couple ideas:

There are alot more variations, those just what I think seem to go with the current color scheme you have.

Although they could customize them, the Supercommando's armor all seemd to be the same or reminicent of each other, at least in the chest area. FYI, the Boba and Jango armor are both Supercommando armor types.

And just wandering, are you gearing this towards a specific type of Mando? A sniper, infantry, spec ops, ect? Just curious

they arent great, i would just buy some sintra, mold it, and glue on a rocket, because that is what he does.

My gauntlets I like, but they werent worth the money at all.

Well C4 is almost here, My snaps on my armor are done, this weekend I am taking my knee armor and bucket to a friend's house (same guy who does my snap work) to paint.


My mom ( Yes I dont know how to sew) hasnt finished my Kama, nor my Cape yet, we have this awesome looking chain to hook the cape up, and I still need to weather it, along with taking in the Jumpsuit to look better.

Here are some pics of Clay's helmet that we've been painting over the weekend. Also, we will be laser cutting some armour for him to replace what he all ready has.

Looking good. Are you going to dirty up the bucket? The pieces look a little "clean." Overall, the whole suit is looking really good. Once you have the new armor pieces, you can refer back to your old ones and make 'em even better. It's gonna' be Mando-mania at C4! Good job Clay.

I got my new armor lazer cut (sintra) and it pwns hard core n00bs.

But I really like it, it is Jango style, with a Boba Curve to it. My cape is completed as well, but the pictures wont come out if I try. Anyways:

My gauntlets should be completed with velcro and such this week, then I will paint them, the chest armor should be completed tomorow or Tuesday (armor painting doesnt take long at all)

Painting should be done by tonight...I got the masking tape I needed, and I will do the 2 tone weathering that is on the back of the helmet...should be cool.

The blue coats are drying on my armor, I am going in a different direction with my paint job now, considering the tape around the edges, doesnt fit too well on the armor.

My boots, kinda Jango like.

The boots are a great . Another good touch to an already impressive suit.

The Cape has been done for about a week, but now it has been weathered, it has wear spots, me and a friend went out and did random weathering to it, slammed it on the ground, dragged it with our feet, dug rocks into it, etc!

The cape is not canvas material like I said earlier, we changed fabrics a few weeks ago, this one drapes nicely, and weathers nicely.

that cape kinda reminds me of the "at-ease" cloaks that the spartans whear when their not fighting in 300...ps...it rules..im weathering my flightsuit a similar way...im gonna put it on and go air softing in it (just the fs,not the rest of my costume)...and then im gonna drag it over some rocks to pick up the dust and damage...well done
