"Kaminoans make great gloves!"? That's so cool!! :D

Great armor too! I love the signed lid you have there.

I also noticed that your chest display is blue? What did you use for it? I'd like to have mine green to match my color scheme but I'm not sure what to use.

Now that Jaing's retired, I'll be costuming as his Null Arc/Mando Merc brother A'den Skirata.

I'm loving this set and it's much more comfortable to wear than the Jaing armor was! During the photoshoot I broke one of the spikes off the toe of one of the boots. So, I' replace the boot spikes with spiked collars over the toes. i took the 4 spikes that were on the toes and put them on the forhead of my helmet, beskar headbutts baby!. The 4 boot spikes were removed and have been put on the headband of my buy'ce! Nothing like a spiked beskar headbutt to livin things up a bit! Also, looking at the pix, my thighs are to bare as the kama doesnt wrap around all the way so, I'm thinking of adding a thigh holster to the right thigh and a leg pouch to the left. I was surprised how little the weathering on the suit showed up in the pix too. It's beat up good! I'm not gonna add to it any cuz there's plenty in person. The last thing I noticed was I covered the Mercs Skull on my cod plate so, I'll be rearranging the pouches on my belt. ive also added a vpoice amp!

I'll be making my "trooping debut" in this armor on halloween. i'll get new pix up then!

Sweet!! I love the visor on the A'den lid! That was the exact effect I wanted for mine, though I couldn't locate the film to cover my visor so went with chrome. I like the interior alot too!

Your gauntlets make a nice change to custom Mando armor too!

Did you get my last regarding the blue display on your Jaing chest piece?

the blue display is one of those scrolling name badges you see people wearing. i got it ob ebay for about $10.00 shipped and, they do come in green!

yeah, i wanted something other than fett gauntlets or fett gaunt-ish knock offs. dont get me wrong, the fett gauntlets rock! but, i wanted my own thing.

as for the visor... the visor itself is a regular smoked t visor from tvisor.com after it was installed, i overlayed it with a trimmed out t that i cut from a green welding shield.

Thanks for the info! I know what you mean about Gauntlets, I went with my own design too.

I've not come across scrolling name badges on ebay? I have seen scrolling belt buckles though. The green one actually being the most expensive. I've not gone with one though as I think it looks far too big to be useful. I'll have to pop over and search for name badges!! V'ore!

Great idea for your visor too! I did think of motocycle visors but just went with the chrome film instead.

Great stuff ner vod!

Thanks very much! I didn't find that one on my first search. I did find red, blue, yellow and even white though!!! These things are a great budget way of lighting your chest!!

I've already had a few ideas on what mine would say. LOL!!

Thanks very much for the help Jaing! I really appreciate it!

Whoa. I thought the first two were kind of cool, but that third one is just utterly awesome. That was a huge improvement in your skills my friend. Good work, seriously.

That helmet interior makes me jealous. That's exactly what I wanted mine to look like...

you gotta weather that rifle, mate. It's such a cool costume, but the glossy black blaster does not go with the beat up armor

Looks awesome brother.

It seems like yoru helmet could be... bigger? But the camera does wierd stuff.

Did you not get an extra brown piece for the forehead?

If you didnt, i need to get you another.

Also, I have a 'rubber' mq board that can fit behind the rear piece now. Wanna try one out?

Merke Lutso:

Thanks for the comments. I learned alot from the time I got my first set until my current set. Perhaps the most significant thing I learned was layered weathering rather than topical weathering. Looks so much more realistic!

Stormrider who has a comment here just under yours made the helmet interiors. Very nice and worth every penney! Contact him to see if he has any available!

Apollo:

Everything but the wood is silver (aluminum) under the black paint. It was layer painted without primer to allow the gune to weather naturally from the rigors of being carried about at events. It already has a couple uglies on it!

Stormrider:

The helmet is a 1996 DP so, it's not movie sized but, I actually like the smaller tighter fitting helmet, it feels more "real" to me. I originally had a kit that I partially assembled that was movie sized but, I found a steal of a deal on the DP so, I went with it instead.

As for the forehead piece(s)... no, didn't get those. Don't remember you mentioning them or putting up the pix on the Mercs site. It's not that "star/cog" piece is it? If so, I thought it went on the top and couldn't use it. rubber MQ board huh? Got pix?

So you're going for a naturally weathered blaster eh? Sounds cool! So does that mean that people will see you doing combat rolls and throwing yourself round at conventions? ;) Just kidding. It's a great idea actually. I'm happy with my weathering for my weapons so far but every now and then I think my weathering looks a little artificial.

My lid is scratchbuilt using my own templates and it's a little small(my nose brushes the visor occasionally). I too prefer it, it does feel more secure like my head is actually protectd inside it.

Great work Jaing!

Hey Jaing, if it's not too much to ask could we see some better pictures of that carbine of yours? It looks very much like my style. I'm assuming that you made it?

No, I didn't, it was made by Tahl Taab on the Mercs sight and it's based on an old WWII/Vietnam era grenade launcher. I'll work on getting more pix up alhough, if you're on the Mercs site as well, there is a thread showing pix from the request uo until the day he shipped it.

So, I've been off work for a week with a work related injury and I've been bored! I'm still waiting for my Gypsyboy helmet to come, which I'll probably work on next weekend as I'm guessing I'll be off then too. Knowing my brother needed to redo his plates and wanting something a little different with mine, I picked up a 4'x8' sheet of 6MM sintra on Friday. It's silver/grey in color, like beskar is supposed to be! So, I got to work on it Friday but cutting my plates and priming them. Yesterday I spent the day painting and attaching plates and today I finished up the last couple pieces. All the armor is bolted in place so it ain't going anywhere! Once I get the new helmet done, I'll suit up and show off all the new gear together!
