Custom Mandalorian My first full custom mando build (pic heavy)

So I've started my first custom mandalorian! I'm building all the armor with foam board and cardstock paper using pepakura models I got from the templates page here, and the Pre Vizsla P2 helmet from HD1138. The helmet is getting close to being done, and I have the chest armor and gauntlets built. I'd love to hear some feedback on what I've got done so far!

I just joined the mercs boards recently, so don't take my word for it, because I haven't done a lot of reading over there, but I recall a Mando telling me that craft foam (event when coated with a sealer like Mod Podge and painted) is not acceptable for making armor... or no one with armor made of foam will be accepted as a member over there. If I'm remembering it correctly, it was during a conversation about xrobots Youtube tutorial for coating foam armor with slush-casting resin... which might be acceptable, but is very time consuming and gets expensive. Again, I might be wrong because I haven't found it explicitly mentioned over on the mercs forums, but I do trust the friend who told me that.

Aside from that, you've done a great job painting that helmet. I have said in other threads, that I wouldn't make a mando with green armor because with any color armor, someone is going to call you Boba Fett. Green armor makes it harder to correct them!

If that is the case about the foam armor, it would be a bummer to have spent all this time and effort on my armor and not be accepted lol. I think you might be right tho, my brother made some scout trooper armor a while back out of the same material and the 501st wouldn't accept it, even though it looked amazing.

As far as the green armor, I'm going to try and make it look distinct enough not to be confused with Fett, and if people still can't tell the difference then it's whatever I guess, they'd probably still call me Boba Fett even if I was bright pink haha

I'm pretty sure he is right about the foam. They have a list of accepted materials. Worbla was deemed acceptable on a case by case basis...mostly for the ladies armor.

If you plan on submitting your kit for approval to the mando mercs ....I highly recommend you post your build thread over there and listen to their input. Don't automatically assume you are being picked apart or berrated if you get some negative feedback...they have requirements just like the 501st and stick to them. There are a lot of great folks over there that will help you and tell you what you need to get approved

Much appreciated! This kit unfortunately has been put on hold, I'm working on another one now that I have yet to post ( but will soon ). I do plan to finish though, I really like the way the helmet turned out.
