    My Costume

Well I went to the Phoenix Cactus Comi-Con and had a great time. I had the chance of wearing a new costume that came in mind. It looked dressed with a bunch of other cos-players. Here are a few pictures of me in the costume.

This one is actually my favorite one below

    ----

    Continueing on....

Here are some for those of you who are mandalorians who custom made your armor.

    From the mandalorians to on....

Found another guy who dressed up as a jedi as well. We had a little fun.

    ----

All in all there maybe a lot of pictures but I must say we had fun. The costume looked great and functioned well. However, my friend gave me the idea and I sort of agree with him. I am possibly going to change it up more into a ninja-sith costume. A lot of the peace like the long sleeved shirt, camo vest, and camo pants will be going away but there will be some add-ons that will aid to the costume being more efficent and more ninja-like. Here is where I will post updates of not only my ninja-sith costume but my mandalorian costume (under construction) as well as an ISB imperial officer. So watch out for updates. Many thanks!!!!

    Re: My Costume

So coming through with plans for my custom mandalorian armor I am actually planing to do a little different then what you would normally see in standard cases. My idea is to go through the standard 't' visor shapped mandalorian helmet. However, the chest and shoulder the peaces I am pushing forward of using Rahm Kota's design.

I am not sure on the sash across the chest but am sure on the armor peaces. As for gauntlets I plan on using something that focuses towards a vibro blade. Sort of like what the clone assassins used on their fore-arm armor plates during order 66. The other gauntlet is still un-decided. I may move into using a clone design for a portion of the legs while the rest I can move into the jango fett design with the foot plates and spikes on tips like Boba Fett. I will have a back armor plate but no jet pack or anything.

All in all I do have a general idea of what I am aiming towards. Updates will be posted as time goes on.

    Re: My Costume

Progress is growing slow for the picture sketches that I have for my armor that I am actually planning on accomplishing. So far everything is going well. I am just doing all the research I can to create the armor. My first goal is to try and get the helmet first that way I don't have any other problems. Then I will be working towards the armor peaces and hope to finish them up before I work on the actual helmet itself.

Yeah sorry I have not been on to update everything. I just went to a NJROTC campout and barley got back. I am really sore right now. As for my mando armor I am still working on sketches and really hope to have them up soon.

    Re: My Costume

A few ideas are coming into mind of my mandalorian armor along with the ninja costume that a friend is helping me out with. As for weapons I am having either a decision between these two weapons:

    The Nerf N-Strike Longshot

    DC-15S blaster Rifle

I already have the N-Strike and am a huge fan of big weapons like the DC-15A blaster rifle and the Z-6 Rotary blaster cannon. So I am wondering which one I should actually have. The N-Strike which I already have or the DC-15S which I need to go out and buy.

    Re: My Costume

Hey guys for an update. I'just like to post up some pictures of the West Mitchell Drill Meet the NJROTC attended Saturday February 21st, 2009. We did such an amazing job with the Drill Team with and without arms along with the color guard. It was a lot of fun. We all woke up around 4:50a.m. maybe 5:00a.m. and went to the school where we got dressed in our NJROTC uniforms then went out by the Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, Arizona. Well most like a base behind the airport. There is where we performed against 35 different JROTC schools. It was a tough competition but we did our best coming home with 8 different trophies.

-4 Person Drill Team Without Arms took 2nd place overall in Un-armed exhibition (we were really suprised and excited)
-10 Person Drill Team With Arms took 2nd in Exhibition
-4 Person Drill Team With Arms took 3rd in Armed Exhibition
-Our CO took 1st in Un-armed and Armed Drill Down
-Our unit took 2nd Place overall in Sweep Stakes while earning a $200 cash price
-We got a little award for attending the drill meet

That is seven so far but I kind of forgot the last one. Our un-armed team did better then ever. If we had a few more days of practice we would of placed in Exhbition and Regulation giving us more trophies. But there is always our Desert Classic Drill Meet which we will do better and bring home those trophies. Anyway, we did awesome and to show you it here are some pictures of some of the events we performed in along with a group photo of us at the end of it all.

This is the Inspection portion of the Drill Meet. It was where our whole unit was inspected on our uniforms and was asked information by the active duty guys.

Here is our four person without arms drill team who took that 2nd place trophy. They did amazing along with the ten person team.

This manuver is actually a confusing move called 'Twastica". Don't ask why it is named that either okay.

A 4 man movement called twelve count salute. If that was in our ten man routine I am sure we would take a trophy home. Without a doubt LOL!

The ending movement. They actually put a part movement of the soldier boy dance into a salute kind of cool.

When we recieved 2nd place in sweep stakes the with arms commander, without arms commander, and color guard commander all went up to get the trophy.

Yeah we had a problem on Teusday with our without arms team. We took color guard and a male and taught them our routine; and it only took three days to teach them. If we had a few more days we would of placed at least third or second in the competition. But overall we did so freakin' awesome.

Our four person ladies who took 2nd place home. One of the ladies learned the routine in three days as well.

The big trophy of a hard-working unit/TEAM! 2nd place overall!!!

We where following Color Guard to the bus where we where to prepare for our next performance.

Yeah I had to have a lot of pictures taken. This is one of those Drill Meets that would never be forgotten. We did so amazing it is not even funny. I have some more photos coming of us the Un-Armed Drill Team performing our Exhibition part of our performance. THey will be up shortly as well. We had a lot of fun and really cant wait to compete in our next one.

Yeah but in those Service Dress coats it gets pretty warm in them espically when it's around 82 degress outside with barley any clouds and the sun beating down on you. I am use to it though.

    Re: My Costume

Well after much waiting for my sister to bring her camera over I finally got the rest of the pictures from the Drill Meet I went to on my computer and posted up on myspace as well as a few other sites. So here they are.

These four people we took from Color Guard and taught them our ten person drill team without arms exhibition routine.

Here we are the Without Arms Drill Team preparing to go on.

Our opening movement to catch everyones attention.

On this one we were in a line going up and down then we marched in a half step forwards and backwards going side-to-side. After this we go into a formation called "triangle." Very fun and entertaining to watch us do these movements.

In our little "Y" shapped peace sign; whatever it is called.

After the whole nearly ten minute routine was over I was out of breath and was sweating for the crisp elite marching that we where doing. But we did such an amazing job.

    Re: My Costume

I am still working on my mandalorian helmet sketch but I did manage to get a sketch down that will be going on one of my mandalorian shoulder bells. I am going to be basing my armor off of a mando medic. Here is what I got for the symbol for a mando medic so far.

If something better comes up I will be sure to post it for you guys to see.

    Re: My Costume

This is a recsent sketch I did of what I am planning to push forward for my mandalorian helmet. My idea is based on using a dark green t-shapped visor much like what Commander Gree's visor looks like. I am not sure weather to half it up as shown in the picture or to do a full t-visor.

I am thinking of actually aiming towards the full size t-shape visor that I see most of you doing as it may look a little better for a mando medic. What do you all think.

    Re: My Costume

Thanks. My general idea for the helmet is to go with the half visor deal and the grill. The green visor I am not entirly sure how I will accomplish that but I am having a plan of taking two L.E.D. lights and strapping them to the side of the helmet. My idea is based around a mando medic so what better way then to have lights on the side of a helmet. The picture was just a brief sketch up of what my idea is around. I am still looking into the design above the t-visor and am not entirly sure just yet.

The basic armor design I am getting down slowly and will have pictures up soon.

Here is just a basic design of a symbol I might put on one of the chest peaces of the armor. I think it would look really sweet. My other idea is to take the mandalorian symbols and spell my characters name out on the armor.

Basically, have the name Tal written on one of the chest peaces in the upper corner of the armor and possibly have it on the side of the helmet as well. Here is also a quick look at of the black mask I will be wearing when the helmet is on as well as the weapon that I will be using. My nephew does not use it anymore so I took it and decided to have it in for my mando medic armor.

What do you all think so far?

I've just made a true type font for mandalorian symbols, PM me if you want it to install.

Also just noticed how much that nerf rifle is just like the colonial marine pulse rifle from Aliens

    Re: My Costume

As you guys have seen before my design for mandalorian armor in the chest and stomach areas is around Rahm Kota's armor design with my own twist to it. Well here is a sketched picture of my chest and stomach armor so far.

Reason for no color is because I am trying to think of a good design to put my mando medic into. There is not just going to be those standard solid colors that you see. I am pushing into a unique design then what you would normally see with mandalorian medics. More pictures are to come of my helmet and if a design comes forth then I'll post pics of my design

    Re: My Costume

Perhaps if you make it a little less square?

With the two chest pieces perhaps taking an angle off the edges?

You may also want to compensate for chest comfort as well.

    But it's your design

Sorry its been a while guys. I am pretty busy with my school stuff and the whole "Graduation" deal out of high school.

But as far as progress goes lets just say it is slow. On the up-side I do have some ideas coming to that will help me out with the construction and the over-all appearance of my armor. With me and my family heading out of town for spring break it will be a while before I post on here but once we get back I will be sure to share pictures and move forward on sketches of my armor
