    My bloodied armor

some of you mercs have seen it
thought id share it with TDH

thats only half the belt, the other side is very similar...on top are the knee pads

close up of the chest pieces without the shoulders

with the shoulders, and part of the cape(and half a farside comic )

part of the left gauntlet and a glove(gauntlet hasnt had the rest of the pieces put on)

the reason everything is bloodied is because my mando character is a scout combat medic, which is why there is more blood on the glove and gauntlets than on the armor itself
    its mostly friendly blood

oh and the "blood" is dark red spray paint mixed with a touch of black
the splatter i did with by flicking my fingers after dipping them in the paint
the smears are obviously from finger smearing

    thanks for looking...comments? concerns?

Looks good. The blood looks pretty fresh, though. Did you want it to look like that?

    Re: My bloodied armor

haha as a medic, the blood is always fresh

    another question for you all

    with or without leggings?

those arent the shoes for my armor, they just are the most comfortable to take on and off while im interchanging between leg pieces and none...boots are inconvenient when it comes to that

so what do you all think?

if i go with leggings, im gonna have to size them smaller and bend up inward a little

nicely done. i had a few dabs of red paint from paint ball that stayed on my armour for quite some time. it really goes well with the battle damage i think.

Yes. The legs look too...uhh...poofy without it on.

Nice to know the medic washes between surgeries.

they definitely go a long way

so it looks like the general consensus would be to size up my leg armor and make it look like the rest, eh?

Thats awesome I thought about addding a few blood splatters on my Boba boots since I'm sure he kicks a lot of people with those spikes. I always thought blood would be a nice addition to a mando. The medic is a good idea as well.

Looking good! Are you gonna add any symbols / Medic style markings on your armor / helmet? Definatley with the leg armor! Maybe add some side pouches and some kind medic lit /backpack. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

lookin great so far did you ever consider moding your gauntlet to have surgical looking equipment on one or both?? rather than the missle and a blaster?? jw cuz thatd look pretty sweet but keep up the good work

maybe...a bloodied print is also pretty cliche for someone who has blood on their armor...we'll see

grizz, the gauntlets already have some of my own modifications on it, but nothing thats "obviously medical"
im not gonna have needles sticking out of it, but you know...i could make stuff up for what each does...but a medic has got to defend himself just as well as any other mandalorian!

    Re: My bloodied armor

Have to agree with TantivIV on this. Being a veteran myself, an IDC (Indipendent Duty Corpsman) fills out in full battle dress and armor when they accompany a Marine platoon. The Medic is the last man you want taking a bullet, he brings your *** home...dented maybe...but home.

Also, don't think Medic's done fight or have a problem shooting the gun. When it hits the fan, they are in the thick like the other guys. Our Doc on the sub was an IDC who had previously been with a platoon in the sand during the beginning of Desert Storm, so he had some stories to tell.

exactly, if anything, you might want the medic wearing more armor than most
throughout history the medic has always worn the same armor has every other soldier in their platoon/squad/flight, whatever you wanna call it

No, they are already hindered by the additional amount of equipment, as a former army medic I always made my guys carry their own fluids, and bandages, If I needed to treat them I used those first then the supplies I was carrying. A medic in a spec-ops unit is a trigger man first, just like every other guy there, and a medic second. When bullets are flying (or blaster fire) everyone is infantry first.

On the topic of bloodied helmets, maybe instead of handprints or other obvious cliques, put the red paint on your hands/disposable gloves and take off the helmet and put it on as one would find themselves doing in RL. Make the blood incidental blood from that action of helmet removal and replacement. Just a thought.

thats actually a really really good idea, putting wet paint on gloves and then immediately take the helmet off with the wet paint

    Re: My bloodied armor

On the topic of symbols I would hate to say, I really think it would be a bad idea and mix too much of our world into the SW world. Medics don't wear identifying symbols because the team he works with already knows who the medic is and enemy soldiers target them. Mandos should be a tight group that already know who their medic is, they aren't operating in clone units of 100's or 1,000's. If you are going to use a medic symbol, make up your own and create a history/background for it instead of importing too much or our history/mythology/religious symbolism. Just my thoughts again.

It's coming along wonderfully, my friend.
For the hoses, cut a small hole in the sleeve of your suit and insert them into it, kinda like they're going direct to your skin giving a bacta injection.

Hows the range of vision on that helmet? Is one of those really squinty helmets. Either way looks cool. Although I'm not sure about the cape, but then I don't know how I feel about them on custom Mandalorians- I don't think that they all need it.

Ever think about trimming the helmet to get rid of the "squint?"

Well I'm just making a suggestion. You're helmet is a little oblong and I just wanted to give you an idea on how to fix the problem.
