My 1st custom Mando

Kezz

New Hunter
Hello everyone! Just to introduce myself: My name's Axel ("Kezz" is part of my Mando character's name "Rego Kezz"),i'm from Germany and quite new here, although i followed the mando threads on TDH for some weeks now. I started to build my own custom Mando costume a couple of days ago and i'm quite pleased with my results so far :) .
I hope to find some answers, if i'll have some questions ( and i'm quite sure i WILL have ;)).

I started my costume with the Rubies Jango helmet, which fits almost perfectly on my head as you can see on the pictures. There've been lots of discussions on using a Rubies helmet, but for me it's just a good starting point and i know i'll have to change the visor for a far better t-visor along with some other modifications ;)

My armor parts are made of 2mm PP, which is almost like the trash can material and formed with a hair dryer as my "weapon of choice" :D.
I've sanded the parts and I will prime them later this day.
So here are some pictures of my sanded parts for now:

Thanks for your comments!
In the past 3 days, i have been hard-working on my armor parts. and here are some new pictures,so let them speak for themselves.

As you know, this is my 1st attempt in making a custom armor,so if you have any ideas or some suggestions - feel free to tell me :) Help is allways welcome and appreciated.
So,here we go:

After sanding the body armor parts, i added some 3D scratches and dents to the parts and 2 layers of primer:

... and a closer look:

After that,i added 2 layers of silver coat ( it's chrome-ish,actually) and a first layer of army green spray paint (RAL 6031).

(Photobucket has some problems at this moment,so i will upload the pictures of the green sprayed parts later)

Photobucket is on again,so here are the pictures of the painted armor parts. The color looks a little too green on the pictures, but it's ARMY GREEN (RAL 6031),actually.

UPDATE!

THIS is how my armor parts look at THIS moment! I added the skull logo (made a template and sprayed it onto the chest part) and added more scratches and battle damage marks ;)

Thx! The main reason, why it comes together so quickly, is: I can do most of the works at my job. :D I wouldnt be able to do all this spray-painting at home (no garage or similar). And of course, i have all the tools i need there, also.

Yesterday i finished my left shoulder bell,so here it is:

Thanks (again) for all your comments! :cheers

Today i (allmost) finished my work on my Blaster. While my armor parts were still drying, i thought this could be a good point to start building my weapon (or modifying a weapon i bought, actually ;) )

So here are the pictures of my blaster, from the very beginning to how it looks NOW:

(And as allways : Any suggestions are allways welcome ;) )

Where did you get that blaster? I need one like that... I plan on putting 2 or 3 1 Watt Lasers in it ;)

By the way, welcome aboard vod, and NICE ARMOR!

I got the blaster from our local Toys 'R' Us, for 15,-€ . It has also 4 different sound modes and some LEDs,as you can see at one of the pictures. I added the plastic pipe and the box, both i found at work.

Thanks! Yea,this IS my very first custom mando! Gonna build my thighs, shins and boot plates in the next week, and i'll let you know about the status ;)

Then the "interesting" and more difficult things will come: the knee pads and the gauntlets. My main problem will be the gauntlets, that's for sure. There is no one in Germany (i think) who sells them and ordering from the US would be too expensive, because of shipping and taxes:facepalm So,i think I`ll have to build them on my own. i read something about using the WOF shin templates for making the gauntlets, but i am not really sure how it would look like.So what do you think about using the shin templates for gauntlets? Did anyone made some from the shin templates? Or do you think i should buy some boba/Jango gauntlets?
