(Mostly) Finished Jango Fett Open Seasons

Okay everyone... first of all, I had my WIP thread here, for anyone interested. http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f34/jango-fett-open-seasons-27100/

Now, here are some pics I took tonight of me wearing the whole thing except the jet pack, which I am still working on. I am wearing it out tomorrow night. My mother is the librarian at the local grade school and she is doing a costume contest/movie night, of which I will be judging/helping out in my costume.

For now, here's the pics of me posing, after we get some of me at the event, I'll post those too! Thanks for looking everyone!

I hope that wasn't too many pics, sorry if the load time was long. I am really excited about being almost finished with this!

I'm a bit confused by the gauntlet thing, care to explain a little more? Sorry, lol.

I purchased the raw bucket from a member here on the boards and he said it's a Mystery Helmet. It cleaned up really nice, I can't even tell there used to be a dent...

I'll have to check the pics when I get home (blocked from work) but I am guessing the chest armor is working good

What he meant was that the underside part of the left gauntlet should be level with the top side of the gauntlet at the rear, where as you have it levelled to the front of the top half of the gauntlet.

Basically there should be an undercut for your wrist to move.

I'm guessing that makes it screen accurate, though it looks perfectly fine to me and I wouldn't have noticed had it not been pointed out.

I am not 100% sure what the EU accurate gauntlets are for OS Jango, but IMHO they are Jaster Mareel gauntlets.

Your kit is looking good. Your shin armor looks like it may be a tad loose. If so you can fix that by having your pant cuffs taken in and hemmed to be tighter or use some internal strapping. The first option is MUCH more comfortable.

I have no clue either, I was just paraphrasing what silver and black trooper was saying to help Casius understand his point.

Like I said, I didn't notice, nor do I care how he connects them, the suit looks good!

Oh wait, you meant Expanded Universe, not European Union didn't you?

    I'll get my coat!

Do you plan to do the custom earcaps that Jango had in Open Seasons? Or are you going to keep the movie style caps?

Thanks for the clarification, I guess I didn't notice, LOL. Like you said, I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. Technically, these gauntlets aren't comic accurate, but I like how these look better than the ones in the comic.

I may do another helmet and try it out, but this one's staying as it is. I actually have the custom earcaps, but I was too afraid to try to do surgery on my helmet when I needed it so soon. As I said, I will most likely end up getting another helmet when I have the funds, and messing with that one

Thank you for all the comments, guys, I appreciate it! I'm getting ready to leave right now to this movie night thing, it should be fun. I can't wait to see how the kids are going to react to it!

Nice work, the suit looks great. You could move the shoulder armor down just a bit for a nice fit.

Here's what silver n black trooper was talking about. The left gauntlet lower shell should line up with the upper half at the rear, then the calc pad overhangs at the wrist.

Anyway, the night went well! The kids lloved my costume as well as the 3 other Star Wars costumes there. I didn't get many pics with my camera, but once other people get theirs out, I'll try to get more up. Here are the best ones.

And us with the winners of the costume contest.

    Excellent!

I love the look on the kid in the brown nike T-shirt's face, he's cool, but I am scared of him!

Having said that, that Charlie Chaplin looked more evil than old Darth!

LOL I'll tell him you said that, he's one of the teachers there. And that kid did that exact pose about 12 times last night haha, as did many of the other ones. It was funy how alot of them stared at me, but when Vader came up behind me they ran away.

There was only one little girl who was actually scared of me, her dad was trying to get her to drink from the fountain and I happened to be walking by. She looked up at me and made a crying sound, I felt so bad! I left quickly...

Yea, too bad the 501st told me I wasn't "accurate enough". I always thought it was hard to judge accuracy off of comic images that are different every time you see them

hmm, wasn't accurate enough... well I am glad I haven't submitted my app yet, cause they would probably tell me the same thing then.

Give it a shot, apparently it all depends on your garrison's GML. Mine decided that my costume wasn't accurate enough

I could really care less, I'm going to join the Mando Mercs anyway, and when I finish up my Officer Uniform (Since I've always wanted one of those anyway) I'll just join with that lol.

Re: (Mostly) Finished Jango Fett Open Seasons

I know it's been awhile since Ive posted on this thread, but here it is!

I recently attended a D.A.R.E. graduation and was asked by the Chief of Police here to come wearing my Jango OS! His son is Darth Vader, lol, and while he couldn't make it, one of his friends came wearing the suit. While I still haven't gotten the chance to fix the little flaw on my gauntlet (I messed up the alignment) it was still fun!

Here a couple I have right now to post and there should be one or two more at home I will post later.

These were pics of me walking around scaring little kids (Or them scaring me, I dont know for sure ) before the actual graduation started.

    Thanks, Ord!

    Here are a couple more

I'm not really sure what I was doing here, but I like how this pic turned out

This is one with the D.A.R.E. Officer and McGruff the Crime Dog!

And this is a video I uploaded. It was filmed by my girlfriend, she was helping my Dad D.J. the event (Since I was all dressed up) and that's why the music is so loud. This is me coming in behind all of the kids. Darth Vader came in front of them.
