lonewolf's pic is pretty much how i would imagine a mando pilot who is a starfighter pilot.

the issue of boba's rf and slave 1... well slave 1 was a larger vessel. more frieghter class. the cockpit had much more room than a starfighter. an rf sticking up or out wouldnt really be an issue. in the confines of a small one man fighter cockpit any extranious appendages would just get in the way.

I always wondered how a mando pilot would show through. We've seen Mando Medics and the heavy weapons guys but pilots are the other thing. How else would we get to the planet; we need those pilots. There is always that chance of taking some of the stuff from Star Wars pilots as seen in the movies and our animated series and incoperating the pilot stuff into a pilot made armor.

I know there is more but right now I am just to busy. I was lucky enough to come on and see how everything is going.

I was just thinking about this... whilst watching Star Wars... generally speaking most mandos are pretty decent pilots... they just don't do it as their primary specialty. As I understand it... standard armor will protect you from vacuum for about the same time that the Pilot's uniforms for TIE or Reb Pilots would. Remember that the armor is not just the plates, but the whole kit and kaboodle... the suit is generally (in the SW universe) made from a energy absorbing material that would act as blaster resistant soft armor... and can seal itself against vacuum, time dependent on the rest of the kit. Add to that the vest which also acts as even better soft armor against blast/frag and sometimes even lightsabers (depending on what's weaved into it). Over that is the plates, which provides the majority of the projectile, blast, frag, energy protection to the wearer... but does not affect the seal. Pilots may not need as much armor, but more vacseal... just a thought.

Hmm, I agree with Kal. Your ship is kind of your armor when you're a pilot and therefore you don't need protection from plasma rounds as much as the vacuum of space. Unless you're Han Solo and everyone is shooting at you all the time. ;)

(This is a cool idea and I'm excited to see what you do with it, Alpha :) )
