Hey just some more food for thought on how to do this on the cheap. I tried looking at Wal-Mart and stuff for plastic glasses and couldn't really find anything useful, so I started looking around Lowe's and got a great idea which me and my girlfriend and now using for our gauntlets. Instead of getting PVC plumbing pipe, we found a couple of odd connectors and are using them. I got the 4inch ones and she has the 3 inch ones. We bought 4 connectors of various shapes and some PVC cement. All together, $12 bucks for TWO sets.
Take some sand paper to them to let the paint stick better. See if your dad will let you use some spray primer on them, then spray paint.
