Thanks WB! Your gauntlets are the only armor pieces that I carried over other than the helmet. I love those gauntlets. =)

Jet Pack is finished at this point. This picture doesn't show the control box on the bottom, but I've got it wired for an actual "boot-up" and charged mode for some LED's contained inside.

At this point the internal aluminum fortification beams were taken out as there was no more need for them. After all was said and done, the pack comes in at 10lbs...which is not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I can pull the CO2 bottle out and reduce the weight to half that.

I put some Jaig eyes on the pack to give it a little more of a mean look, and brushed it all down with carbon dust before putting on a light matte sealer coat with a finish light coat of varnish. Thanks to Madmartigan for some sweet JP hooks, and MojoFett for his awesome targeting RF aluminum piece.

    Here's a pretty big update!

I have to finish putting the bronze on all my upper body armor. I'll try to get to that some tonight and Sunday. I worry about adding it to the collar plate as I still am going to have to clip a little of the inside of the neck area once I get my vest in so it matches up with the backplate.

The wrap-around thigh plates have been designed to have the holster's straps permanently ran around them. This means that when I break down into light mode, the entire holster rig is detachable from the girth belt. Origionally I had designed it so that i could keep the holsters on, but the more I thought about it the more I wanted light to be more like a boba style light armor look. So I also have a re-designed metal carbine that I'll be using when in light mode.

Thanks Skip! Everyone seems to really love the boots for some reason. =P They actually wear really well! I put them on the other day and walked around the shop, the shin armor doesn't slide down into them at all.

Many people have been asking me how I plan on attaching the plates. In the past I've used velcro and snaps. This time I am using magnets to recreate the actuial "gription plates" that are said to have held the armor on. Also, the armor has been designed to support itself so it doesn't slide down or pull away. I did use velcro to help keep the shin armor together, only because I didn't have more than 3mm of space to work with between the pieces and magnets just wouldn't fit in there.

I'm contemplating a new cod piece now that I have a way to weld thin metals. My old one is just getting beat up from use and travel. I also may done some finger armor to go along with the hand armor before SDCC. Just depends on time honstly...and I still have things to do!

Just looked at those pics again. In the 4th pic, is that a little smoke we see trailing out of the jet pack thruster?

Man that is totally ori'kandosii! Wicked 'gam!
    Incredibly inspiring!
Makes me want to go and start on my set RIGHT now! (never mind the lateness of the hour or the fact that all the shops are closed... these are but minor inconveniences... lol)
    Keep up the ori'jate work

Great work! I like the bronze and white effect. Nice props, good work on the details!

People should look more at your suit before even attempting to make their own custom to see what kind of work it really takes.

    awesome!

Here's a look at the armor as v2.9 from this past weekend.

I still have to put the new upper-plates on the new vest, but the leg armor works brilliantly with the old armor as well.

Also spent some time broke down into light mode, and wow it's nice when you need a rest to be able to drop about 15lbs of leg armor and go light. =)

Thanks guys! I'll be happy when the new chest armor and vest are ready to use. Looks like they will be a go for SDCC at this point, have another con next weekend and just don't have enough time to get the snaps attached correctly.

This suit is pretty darn heavy, the leg/shin/knee/boot armor is 30lbs on it's own. My girth/holster/combat suspender rig is around 25lbs, cant speculate on the new upper armor + vest, but the jet pack with a full tank is around 12lbs.

Pretty strong argument for fully-enclosed mandos using beskar armor to not exist in Star Wars. It would be to heavy to move or fight!!

Dredging up my old 3.0 armor post to add some upgrades I'm working on.

Currently working on making my gloves into mando crushgaunts. Using 22 gauge steel to put together some nice little finger armor for all but my trigger finger. Should look snazzy when done.

    Naval, how did you attach?
I wanted to do something similar, except put claw's on the tips and spine like ridges up the rest.

I haven't attached them yet, and probably won't till I get all the finger pieces hammered out and filed nice and smooth then painted and weathered.

I'll probably use a permanent glue to attach them, probably an epoxy.

Wednesday I'll start hammering out a set of male thick aluminum armor on this Wednesday's show. If I can get one chest plate done then that would be a personal best. =D
