2 day's later...

Here are painted updates of the leg armor , you will see in a close up picture below the engraved details I added.

I painted 1 coat of hammered brown like color this morning , but it did not really match with the fire red paint and could not find a hammered color paint close enough like in the reference pix , so I decided to paint it with the hammered black / coal color instead.

The pictures does not give it justice tough. :-\ but the suit is getting better every day :)

I still need to do the belt and the things? attached to it, but I don't know what they are ? So I figured whit what I will do them with and they will match the reference picture.

So for now enjoy the color scheme's.

Wow it looks really cool. What do you use to shape the metal? I'm using an old heavy duty construction sign and having a bit of difficulty. Any tips?

I have a large steel work bench with round edges and 2 different sledge hammers, an air cutting wheel and a Dremel.

I also use my body parts to round off / curve some parts.

And a pair of pliers for smaller details.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the tip. Yeah I have next to nothing for decent tools and the metal is about 18 gauge. I figured I'd at least give it a try, not to mention a great way burn off some energy. Thanks again, can't wait to see the finished outfit.

I'm sure it's going to be rather intimidating for sure. It reminds me of the Royal guards crossed with a spartan.

@ Saz. Not yet cause it is still not padded.

@ orionx42. The chest armor and the bulky pauldron are the heaviest parts, I really dont know how much it weighs but next time I get suited up, I'll weight myself with and without the armor and I'll let you know.

:)

Updates :

Today, I painted all of my armor...I went in a dozen stores and could not match the color at all, so I used A'den Skirata idea (Rub N Buff) with 2 different colors of paint. One color was spayed on and the other, I had to Rub N Buff it.

These first pix are the color scheme I did today, but with the camera flash, it does not give it justice since the color changes a lot so I took 1 with a flash and the other without.

Now here I am again suited up.

Today I also worked a bit on the Kama and Cape. The Suit still needs a lot of work and adjustments, since its all made of aluminum metal , some parts are heavy and needs constant adjustments to be comfy and some padding.

So, here are the updates:

Well to be honest I was a tad iffy as it's not my favorite Mando outfit. But now that it's finished you've absolutely took my breath away. Congrats!

I've never seen that concept art before but it is a slick piece of work. Looks like a Mando "high council" or something. Anyway, you pulled off the armor quite well!

The right shoulder still seems to be sitting high, but I'm sure you'll get that ironed out. The chest armor is really slick though. I'm impressed.

You might consider scuffing up that red painted armor a bit though. It's very shiny and bright in comparison to the more worn bronze components.

That's amazing work. Did you ever figure out the weight on that? I bet after a long day, that thing has got to weigh down on you pretty fierce.

Thanks,

LOL every time I suit up I always forget to weigh myself to know what the suit weighs.

Next update on progress post probably.
