Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Here is a dented variant I found searching for starwars toys and things.
An Entertainment Earth Exclusive Star Wars Mystery Pack Action Figures.
He looks awesome, also the clones rock!
someone needs to do this variant.
The story behind the character is listed there also.
"Llats Ward was a mercenary, hand-picked by Jango Fett to train his clones on the rainy ocean world of Kamino. Everything in the life of Llats revolves around battle and war. He has studied and memorized the campaigns of all the great Mandalorian leaders of the past, and uses these as lessons to enhance the clone troopers' fighting skills."-EE website
Check out the link.

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
wow, is this for real? I like it alot...
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Man, that looks a lot like Boba. He's even got shin tools! Those Clones look pretty BA.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Is anyone going to do this variation?
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
I am still waiting for the "other" Mando pack with the additional 14 characters
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
He would then be a Cuy'val Dar, one of those who no longer exist - or Mandalorian Training Sergeants for the GAR.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
that he would sarim...im not sure wether i like this or not...its a pretty good EU custom based on the VOTC boba fett figure (the only super articulated mandalorian figure ever) but with a removable helmet...whcih sucks btw...look at the helmet in the pic...its too small and warped out of shape...i never was a massive fan of the entertainment earth custom stuff but this is one of the worst ive seen....i'll still buy it though lol
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Yeah, he realy hasen't been found....Hasbro decided they could milk a couple people for a simple kitbash/repaint....
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
ya, it's just a boba repaint in my opinion. However I do like the concept. Who knows who else trained the clones ya know? There are hundreds of thousands of clones, so the fact and possiblity of several hundred trainers, mando and otherwise, is quite broad.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
There were 100 Cuy'Val Dar. Not all of them were Mandos either if I remember correctly.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
i thought there was 100 mando cuy'val'dar and then the rest wer trained by non mandalorians
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
I don't like the way the head looks on that figure...too baby-faced...but I'll be buying it anyways.
In related news.....

Found here.
It looks really cool, but has anyone else noticed that this is the THIRD figure in the "Unleashed" line that has the same sculpt with basically just the helmet and one or two other things changed (Clone Trooper, Clone Shock Trooper, ARC Heavy Gunner)?

75 of the Cuy'Val Dar were Mandalorian, 25 were not.
Commander Bacara was trained by non-mandalorian cuy'val dar member Cort Davin (although he was a Journeyman-protector, some articles say we was not a Mandalorian SuperCommando).

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
aaah right...my sw history of the clone wars period isnt great...my knowledge of the past is up to scratch though i LOVE the kotor period

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
I personally would like to see Kal Skirata + N-11, Walon Vau + Lord Mirdalan + Delta Squad. I mean, Walon is popular enough to at least see his face and armour.
Something along these lines.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
I agree, why doesn't Vau have his own figure?
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Oh I meant Kal + N-11 + Omega Squad, not the other way around lol
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
No offense, but IMO the mando figure in the EE link, the face looks like a 10 year old kid

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Greetings All Madalorian's . I'm Glad that I have found my brothers at last. I have always wanted to be A Fett, ever since I first saw him on the big Screen. So now in True Mandalor Fashion I will be building several Sets of Armor and Buckets. My own little Army.:skull.
Now every one on here has their own Style,Very Cool. So as not to fall under To much Perfection. Which will come with time I'm Sure. I have Started on my First Set of Armor from Info on here .Great Stuff. I have Chosen Llats Ward to be my first because he is still very new and very cool looking. I hope to attend some Shows and finally meet my True Brothers in Arms.

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Looks good man. Someone else was working on a LW at one time, not sure how far along they have gotten. Keep it up =D
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
I've gotten pretty far. The knees and cod are complete too, the bucket is on the way, and the jumpsuit still needs to be dyed. After that it's just the cape and it's done.

Very nice! I knew someone was doing it =D

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
I just realized that pic is kind of old, I'll post a newer one tonight. :thumbsup
(Thanks for the compliment NovallTalon).

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Well, here's as far as I am. I'm going to modify the blaster at the top to look more like a Lewis gun. I've got a jumpsuit and it'll be dyed the right color once my new Boba ESB jumpsuit is ready. I've got a Nintendo Zapper I'll modify for the pistol too. The belts and pouches will come later.

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
You're modding a shotgun into a lewis? Looks do able. The suit is looking awesome Jim! I can't wait to see the end result. Knowing you, I'm aure it will amazing.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Thanks for the compliments TxF. :thumbsup
The blaster should work out well. The blaster rifle on the figure looks like a Lewis, but a little different and smaller in proportion, so I think the one I've got will work well once I add the large barrel and strap.

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Did anyone happen to notice how wierd it is that you have a Mando'ade in black armor (hmm... reminds me of Vau) and you have one in gold (hmm... he reminds me of Kal)... And you have Rav Bralor who knows them both and is introduced in Republic Commando True Colors.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Gold-armored figure was supposed to be Kal. But when Karen saw the headsculpt, she asked that they change the name because it looked too young. There is no figure with black armor, the one that you think looks that way has silver armor. Karen was consulted on the names for all the figures, so she had a big hand in it.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Intresting, I always thought it was black... my mistake.
I haven't seen any of their faces as of yet, but then again I never truely looked. Thanks for the info!
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Here you go, i guess you could imagine that it is vau and skirata in their prime. But if these color schemes are accurate to the character it would be a pretty dam good reference. Wonder if someone could ask karen about this.

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
From what I heard, the tan Mando was supposed to be Skirata but Karen thought the head sculpt was too young.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
They should have changed the head sculpt! Oh well, I'll just do it myself.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
I think, from what I know, that the only difference between the gold-armor figure (can't remember the name) and Kal's armor is that Kal has a jet-black visor surround and dark gold cheeks, and that his armor is somewhat metallic-colored. And I've already said, the other figure isn't anything like Vau beyond the same armor style (Jango-style). If you're looking for an accurate Vau reference, there's another topic on here for a highly accurate, Karen-approved Walon Vau. No need to search for it, even, it's the other primary main topic up here.
Incidentally, if you're wondering (for some strange reason) what I look like, the figure with the silver armor's headsculpt, including hair and quasi-goatee, is almost identical to me.

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
I wouldn't call them Karen approved mandos...she's pretty much stated there is no such thing.
Kal's helmet has no black on it. Ceric is pretty much correct on that, and I believe that there is a pic of a helmet someone from the 501st made Karen that she calls Kal's helmet. Check her website, www.karentraviss.com as it may have a pic on there. Kal also didn't wear a jet pack, so you can loose that part of the outfit...I don't believe Vau did either.
Karen gave them (Hasbro) a huge list of names she came up with as per their request. One of the figures is actually the name of a close friend of hers thats been turned backwards =)
As for asking Karen, I think thats kinda outta the question at this point. People have asked to many questions that are possible continuity breakers for her and she has flat out refused to do it anymore because of that. The only hope we can have is that they do another updated Star Wars character encyclopedia at some point and list them. Then we'll see some accurate pics.

Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Well, okay, Karen-assisted. And I swear in TC it mentioned a jet-black visor surround... I'll have to check on my re-read.
Neither of them wore jet packs. I know that much for a fact.
And yeah. Lay off with questions to Karen. I've been asking about Etain recently, and all she's been able to do for me is give me a better description of her hair and tell me that the robes were standard brown-and-beige, with everything except the inner tunic and outer robe being beige. She can't tell me anything about either of her lightsabers, because of the continuity breaker problem. Basically, the issue is that detail has to come from the story and come organically, it can't just be stuck in there.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
"It had detailed crimson and gold sigils, and the alloy section that formed the eye-piece T of the visor was jet black. There were telltale scrapes and gouges as if some huge creature had clawed at it." Republic Commnando: Triple Zero, page 128.
-
Re: Llats Ward, new Mandalor found!
Either way these could be a nice reference with a bit of imagination and a few other pics it could be close to "accurate".
Nice quote by the way, on Kal I suppose? (I don't have my issue with me)

If so i still think its pretty close. And i definately agree with you on the jet pack issue.
