So to do that weathering did you actually paint several layers and sand down to reveal the colors?

I'm very cruious how you did it.

There are two ways to weather:
Topical (One layer of paint on top of the other)

And Masking. With masking, you (as an example) you paint your primer, silver, then mask off the areas you want to show the silver, then paint.

Later on after the paint is dry, you scratch off the mask, and it appears that your armor has been chipped, and scraped in battle.
:cheers

This armour was done with a mix of both.

There are parts where it was layered and chipped, or masked, and then after the painting was done, theres parts where he sanded over it to make it look worn, instead of flaked.

The gouge in the yellow is a good example.

It looks like he made a gouge, masked, painted, masked paitned, then when all doen, sanded the spot, so the raised most edge looks to be scraped while the inner looks gouged.

I dont see much 'topical' on this armour.

metal armor weathers the same as plastic or fiberglass, 'cept that you don't need to be nearly as gentle with it, and don't need the silver base coat :)

Yea I understand that but I was just saying its made with metal plates. Usually people approach armor with plastics.

sorry havnt been around in a while. some projects ive been workign on.

as for the paltes. they are 18g aluminum, and painted them with, i think 7 coats of differnt colors paint. hugger orange was one of them from autozone.

Thats one impressive build. Thats for sure. Is there a way I can get a close up shot of the leg holster. I am going to be doing one of these and would like to see how you did yours.

that is probably the best "boobs" armor i've seen that contours to the shape without being overtly boobs. in those group shots with her helmet on she could be mistaken for a man.

Saint, is that a good thing or a bad thing? there are also abtou 4 other girls in that pic with Bullock i beleive as well.

Wow. Just....wow. Well....where do I start? Nice boobs? :lol:p;) Sorry, couldn't resist. :p Thats one awsome costume, both of them are! And guns......Mandos hafe to have guns, and you have them. So by the power that I hold over all Mandos, I now announce you two, very awsome Mandos.

yeah. the helmet that the female mando used to be my yellow rubies jango re-paint. the FG buckets were too big for her, so i sucked it up and repainted my old helmet for her new costume.

to me that a good thing, in my mind i don't think a woman of a warrior race would want to go into battle wearing armor that screams, "LOOK AT MY BOOOOOOOOOOOOBS!!!!"

Oh yes, she would....she would use EVERY advantage she has in battle...most males talk to a woman's boobs first, then her eyes second...
