best thing to do is read up on the sticky threads and lurk for awhile. Take your time when your planning.
:cheers
Welcome to the TDH:fettpre
ooooooOOOOOOOooooooo i remember being in that position :lol asking the very same question :D
Well ill start by saying Welcome to TDH!
and like Isabet said CHECK OUT OTHER THREADS :D its the best thing you can do to prepare :D
Oh and the biggest rule DO NOT RUSH YOURSELF
and if you dont have much of an idea yet check out the mando maker :D

Good luck ner vod
Well during my first few days I had no clue of what Star Wars was like or knew of the fact of people making custom mando's until I started watching the movies and going to the comi-con's here in Arizona.
But now I have the knowledge and have begun construction on my own mandalorian armor.
Now first I would have to say welcome to TDH. It's good to see someone knew and ready to begin work on mandalorian armor. As what the two said above take your time and do your research and lurk around. There's also a good place to visit if you have no concept of what mandalorian armor looks like.

Both are good places to go and get the information you need to start up your armor process. Good luck and I look forward to see what you have in the planing stages of armor.
Hey Maron
Heres your finished sketch :D

hope that helps :D
Nice Alpha!
Yup, the best thing to do is sit back, look at other peoples work, get a good idea of the Mandoness of it all and PLAN PLAN PLAN.
Good luck and I can't wait to see what you make!
Yeah Lev'ika does some fine work... he just needs to start working in color! lol jk, jk. Honest advice, take your time and do it right. Even if you can't do everything you want to at first. That's half the fun of building the mando... making upgrades later on. I suggest going on to the mercs, or here and looking at other ppls completed "Show Off" threads and their Works in Progress "WIP" threads to see what kinda stuff is coming down the pipeline. Check out the wookiepedia for mando'ade. Also, check out some of the "known mandalorians" links attached to the fact sheet at the first wookiepedia article I listed here. That should help.

Welcome to the Dent Vod, just click around, you'll see all kinds of wonderful threads with TONS of how too's, and remember we are here to help, feel free to hijack some threads to ask questions (but be nice about it).
Look for WIP threads they are just that Work In Progress that usually show start to finish or what ever stage they are at at that point.
thanks ner'vods but right now im broke:cry i dont even have cash for the trashcan idea
its okay. use cardboard!
its free!
absolutly, you can use that old pizza box (well just make sure there isn't any cheese left :lol )
You can easily get GOOD cardboard boxes FREE!!!! from the post office, then just print out the WOF templates, and cut, it's great to practice your color scheme on, and to get the sizing and fit right. I mean the templates may need adjusting to your hight and weight so cardboard is a great start.
Cut shape, prime ($2.00 spray paint), duct tape to a tee shirt pose and pix.
Thats a really good idea actually :D i might need to do that before i start my armor (still gotta finish the bucket though :lol)
Hey Man, any progress ner vod?
Bump, Maron, you still there?
