I suppose I should unveil Prudii Solu...

Prudii Solu

New Hunter
Yes, my character's name is Prudii Solu... My forum name was a typo and we're looking to get that fixed here pretty soon. :D

I recently went to SDCC and met a whole bunch of the TDH folks there and would like to say that I had an amazing time.
(Maybe when I turn 21 I'll be able to get into one of those parties, 'eh Shockwave?)

Here are just a couple of pics of the suit at SDCC (forgive me, I know one is already in the SDCC showoff thread.)

A couple of the Suicide Girls. I know I look short here, but they were wearing platform boots with like 6-8 inch heels!!!

My interview with Reelz before the Star Wars IFF Awards, courtesy of Shawn (Silver Fett).

This is only about 85% complete for me, as I am looking to get/make Mandalorian Gauntlets and a Jet Pack, tighten up the backplate, add a girth belt, and possibly redo the paint on the helmet to incorporate more than one color  I also know that in the third picture you can see my wonderfully tanned neck  so an Underarmor balaclava is also slated for the future.

Also, a big thanks to Phil (Journeyman Protector) for helping me keep my armor on. The adhesive velcro started to not be adhesive anymore; I had armor plates falling off left and right, when Phil came to the rescue with his emergency repair kit!!! (y)(y)(y)

Godd color combo.I like the gaulets and upper arm armor you have, what did you use???
Is that fur(like a lions mane) around you neck???It is hard to tell in the photo.
Great start :D

The gauntlets are actually MX forearm protectors and the bicep armor is the hard plastic part from the inside of a football thigh pad.

Yes, that is faux fur. I was at a Michael's a night before I left for San Diego and I saw that there, and I decided that was the thing that would set me apart. I was kind of going for the Hoth trim look that the rebels have in ESB. And because I really like fur trim for some reason. (I have it on my snowboarding jacket, my casual jacket, and now my Mando!)

No sweat :) Like I said, I can completely relate to coming to con, excited about a new costume, only to find myself wandering downtown San Diego with pieces of armor in my hands because something didn't work out right.

I'm just glad my repair kit came in handy :)

Costume is looking good. What more plans do you have? Jet Pack, upgrades, etc...

Take care,

Phil

Pudii,

Might I suggest some more slight work on your helmet? The top part of your visor looks waaay to squished and narrow. Might I suggest a quick dremel to it to even it out more and give yourself some more visual range out the front of it.

It might help.

Because as we all know, more visual range = seeing more of those Suicide Girls;)

I realize that the visor portion looks a little squished, and I'm looking for ways to mitigate that. Thanks for the suggestion JK3, I may just do that.

As for the blaster Vadr_h8r, it's a Nerf Recon gun that was painted black, drybrushed with silver accents and softly coated with light rust. Gotta love those rattle-cans! I'll rustle up some closeups for you.

Still looking for more pieces, and fashioning a cod piece is in the near future.
