A heavy mando would be one who wears a suit of armor that almost completely closes him up. In other words around 75% or more of your body is going to be covered by armor.
That would be basically:
Chest
Belly
Back
Shoulders
Helmet
Cod
Gauntlets
Thighs
Knees
Boots
Shins
and whatever else you can stick on there.![]()
i think it would be more than that to be honest.
boba fett is an excellant example of light mandalorian armor
jango fett, which is more or less what ordeyn described, is the template for medium armor
a good template for a light-heavy armor would be akin to the coverage of a neocrusader mando... full lower leg cover, knee's, thigh plates, full torso coverage, bicep coverage, elbows and full lower arm coverage. of course with a helmet. you could even say a template such as jango's with the addition of bicep armor, a kama and a pauldron would be a good light heavy. i consider my set thigh plates short of being light-heavy. it's more of a heavy-medium
a real heavy armor would be something like the clone troopers wear, full coverage except joints, even those are usually armored but not so heavily as to completly impair movement. of course, clone armor is not mandalorian armor but, it's based on it. so that type of coverage would be a good example/template for full on heavy armor.
Yes yes, this is helpful, I'm rather interested in being a tank![]()
Well, you'd better go find some treads for shoes and a GIANT barrel.![]()
completely off topic and horrible, but when I read this thread title the first thing that popped into my head was to "feed him lots of cheeseburgers" lol
Back to the Heavy Mando, yes a walking tank would be awesome maybe something like this

You should recognise this from the movie Iron Man
Cheezeburgers! Crazy chihuahua....
uh anyways, I'll make sure and keep all that in mind. Building my bucket atm, feels like it might be too small :/ oh wells, we'll see lol
thanks for the replys, it helped alot and i think i got some ideas now, i might get some pics up when i get mt camera fixed.
also cheeseburgers are delicious.![]()

everybody loves a good tank
I agree with our first three correspondents (excuse my lack of direct referencing) in that heavy mandalorian armor will more or less be covering the entirety of your body in addition to the possibility of having several accessories. You should expect a full body suit - not exactly built for quick or excessive movement.
In fact, pardon me if I seem blunt, but a heavy suit seems somewhat impractical as far as convention usage or really much else goes. It would appear rather inconvenient in the ways of general use. Why the desire for a heavy mando?
would it be safe to say a "heavy mandalorian" armor might be in the same class and look as a republican comando armor?
heavy mandos dont do "excessive"
besides, the more the merrier i always say

i think ill do like jango but close up the thighs and shins in the back for a full case,
do a bi-plate
maybe habd armor, and a heavier pauldron on one side and maybe like a boba pauldron on the other. so basically a light heavy i guess ill add lots of extra pieces, and i was even thinking that i might armor one side heavier than the other with a collar of sheet metal on one side so that would be cool.
The first thing that popped into my mind was Durge...
then I had the idea of a Punisher or EOD type suit, with the full coverage chest and shoulder armor, the beefy collar plates that cover the neck, A good set of wrap around thigh plates, reinforce and merge the shin and knee plates and of course the shin plates should also wrap around the calves. I also think that there should be something between the shoulders and the forearms. Biceps and elbows absolutely must be covered. Once you have all of that armor on, a HEAVY mando needs something like a chaingun or a minigun linked to a backpack power source.
Kal'ika
kal'ika has it right, totally load on the armour!!! and a backpack powered weapon would be awesome!!!
