    Here we go again...

    The title says all. I'm starting ANOTHER custom job. lol.

    My vode have their armour moving along. One of em is almost done, and the other needs more work, but doesnt really want to work on it right now, so we will let it sit for now till he wants to work again.

    Anywho, this set will replace my first set (which has turned into one of my bro's set of armour). I plan on fixing some of the flaws that were apparent in my first set. I have done some preliminary work, and have asked Alpha and Kal'ika to do a sketch of their take on this armour, and I have done one also (heaven knows how long it's been since I used watercolour paints last...). Here are the drawings of mine:

    Front:

    Front (soft parts):

    Rear:

    Rear (soft parts):

    And my humble watercolour of the final product as I envision it:

    Tell me what ya'll think! This is gonna be a nice slow build (I'm gonna take my sweet time on it).

    That looks really cool ner'vod! I cant wait to see the start of it! I had a deasiavue(sorry spelled wrong..) moment when I looked at you shins. The gold piece is almost the same shape that I have on my gauntlet, lol! But I hadn't shown it to anyone. Everyone seems to be starting to use that double shoulder thing, where the shoulder bells are twisted up more. But they look cool so why wouldn't we?
    I'm hoping that gun is the awesome big gun in your avatar, you need to build that gun!

    Wish i had drawing skill like that.

    The concept is great, and the watercolour looks pretty neat too. What deadly, fearsome weapon is that?

    Re: Here we go again...

    Thanks guys!

    @Nevu-
    Yeah, my paudron style shoulders really limited movement in my arms, so I'm gonna try this (Demagol has a set like this and he has great range of movement). It still has the protection level of the other type (especially with the bisep plates. Why doesnt Fett have those?!?) and is easier to wear.

    @Pacx-
    That gun is a random series of mistakes that came out looking way better than I thought. I probably will not be using a weapon like that (The big gun in my avatar...).

    Kal'ika, that'd be great! Thanks vod!

    Alright, so I was lazy so far today, and decided that I didnt want to go outside in the sweltering heat and build armour, so I stayed inside and did a little drawing:

    So yeah...just so I can say I did something.

    I would probably not use the pattern in the other cheek and I think it would be great if you continued the pattern all the way down the left side of the armour.

    That would look so sweet!

    the barrel can be with pvc pipes, they're cheap, like $10. for 10 foot length.

    which bfg, the one in your avatar or the one in ANH???

    If you have any detailed pics of it, you could cut the main assembly out of layers of wood, along with detail parts and then use PVC (or ABS which is cheaper in shorter lengths.) to build the barrel.

    OK, what I'm thinking is the BFG is going to be able to breakdown and get stashed in the backpack, so I will need a secondary weapon (other than my pistol). A verp might be a good choice...or I have that nerf firefly that I could mod into something cool...any ideas vode?

    How about including the whip in this one as one of your back up weapons, the EL comes in many different colors as you already know

    right...the trick would be to do a multi straned whip or a single strand...and how to incorperate the EL...

    I thought of another way to do it... get 2 5' EL, and 1 10', braid them together, then use clear heat shrink over the whole thing for strength, then take apart the inverters and wire them to a single switch in some sort of handle.

    vod, that is BRILLIANT!!! The trick would be to get enough power to it...6V in D or C batteries might work...something like a maglight handle....

    I would suggest a compact carbine or subgun... some RW snipers/spotters will carry a compact PDW to protect themselves enroute to/from their hide. I also like the idea I saw on the Military Channel this morning, a carbine with a detachable upper half. One in a compact PDW/Assault form, the other in a monstrous BFG sniper form. Just my suggestion ner vod.

    I agree with Kal, i think make your BFG break down in to a SFG!

    I think a vibroblade on the gaunt is plenty enough

    A'den, for a whip, get a 9v inverter, and one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123
    to split to 3 wires. You can put 3 10' wires on the 9v inverter.

    @Kal'ika:

    Yes, that was my original idea, taking something that looks like a P90 and having it modular for sniping or anti-armour. But then I had trouble with a barrel...so that idea stalled...maybe I will bring it back from the dead and give it another go.

    @Adonian:

    vod, I think I'm gonna have to try this thing...it sounds like it'll work...

    Sort of... actually I think the idea of the Deece (which originated in the game) came from the American M4 carbine, they're very similar in usage, it's just the M4 requires either a whole new upper receiver (sniper/support models) or a bolt on attachment (grenade launcher) to do the same job. U should see the project gun I've come up with for my Mando squad, I'm not sure what I'm going to call it yet, but it's basically a M4 type system with a heavy Deece influence. I may call it the DC-4! lol I'll put up a WIP thread for it when I actually start working on it.

    vod, is there such a thing as to much mando'a?

    kal'ika, your threadjacking is totally ok. It provides me with great amounts of amusement.

    So, i have been whirling plans around inside my head, and i think that I am going to wait on building the lightwhip to somewhere nearer the end of this build.

    I started on them helmet today. Dont know how much I will get done over the weekend (I'm gonna be working on the TOR mando) but we shall see...

    And yeah! anybody seen Ord'ika around here? She should be home and back to work by now...

    ROTFALOL!!! You guys are crazy!

    And no, no progress yet. (The left knee is getting worked on. ) But once it gets dark, I'm gonna call it a day outside and start on the helmet for this build. And I'll be taking pics to go with my 10 step process.

    On the knees, you could make it out of 2mm sintra then dremel out the details. Maybe???

    wrong thread mate! but no, I really dont want to try that. If you look at the dremel work I did on my bucket, the lines are rather askew...so I am going to stick with layering. It is working really well so far.

    Alright vode, I was hoping to have my picture tutorial done today for the helmet, but I had a bit of a largish armour party at my place, and ended up getting absolutely nothing done on my lid. Sorry Levi!!! I'm gonna try and work on it some tommorow and see if I can finish it. (Kinda sad...I can build a bucket in less than two days of work now...)

    A'd'ika I was waiting on that tutorial to start mine! lol Take ur time ner vod, I don't even have my patterns cut out yet. I'm pretty sure I can get myself up to the point of having it assembled, but I'll need some help from u guys with some practice at the scratch builds for some other stuff I need to add to mine.

    reminds me of some kinda samuri...wasp thing lol. and a mandolorian with a hammer = a combination of both the cunning and precision assosiated with mandolorian bounty hunters as well as the brute force implied towards anyone jacked enough to wield hammers. end result = sicknasty

    Yeah without a doubt. I'm hopping to have mine ready by Saboten Con that way I can attend in a mando costume. But if not that gives me a little more time to work through for it for the AZ comi-con.

    C720, you should come to some of the armour parties. You can get a ton of stuff done when you have a bunch of people to give you a hand and all the supplies right in front of you. I plan on having both my TOR and this mando done by Saboten Con, and for the Star Wars in Concert event, and the armour parties really help speed the process along.

    Hi vode,

    I recently decided to re-tool my original scratchbuilt helmet, and after a few weeks of work, I have it ALMOST to a point where I'll be happy with it (for a few days at least...). Here are the picks of the new and improved A'den Kyramud 001 Helmet:

    Man I love the back of the helmet with this tribal like dragon thing on it. Very cool.

    I also love the colors you have chosen ... it´s just like some kind of steam helmet. :-)

    Good job!
