Help with first mando armor.(that is, cheap armor)

hi, I'm making my first set of mando armor (as you can tell by the thread title) and I have little ca$h. I saw on the mando mercs forum that someone made cheap and acceptable armor out of gray plastic tote boxes. I've also seen some death watch armor made of foam out of all things!

I'll get to the point. Can anyone tell me any other ways of making armor(and maybe even a helmet) out of inexpensive supplies? all help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

we actually have a thread over at mercs were two members of our application approval team are constructing a set that will pass our crl's, probably minimally, as inexpensive as possible. they are trying to build it by the simplest means possible, ie they are using tools such as scissors etc not tools many wouldnt have. they are also trying to use things around the house and second hand stores and keeping things such as sewing to a minimum and as simple as possible. the thread isnt complete but, they are documenting the wip. i would suggest checking it out and book marking it if yours a mercs member. if youre not, you should be! it is designed for folks who are in your place. here's the link...

One thing you might want to invest in though is a dremel, they are invaluable for any cutting, shaping or drilling operations.
