A Helmet For A Marine

I'm not sure if having the medals on the helmet makes sense, I'm leaning towards just using the ribbons as they fit the helmet better..

On uniforms where medals are not worn, they are worn as ribbons instead. Every medal has a ribbon equivalent. Conversely, not every ribbon is also a medal - e.g. the Oversea Service Ribbon. I wish you were able to make the whole armor uniform, 'cause the medals and ribbons would be PERFECT where the red LED display is on the left breast armor.

A full suit would be awesome, but theres no way I can afford to do it right.. Just have to put as much of the uniform as I can into the helmet.. Another picture update:

In reference to the EGA, I'm not sure if I should use the more detailed version I have on there now, or just a silhouette filled in.. There may be limitations on what I can get made in vynil decals..

i would love to paint this helmet. i'd suggest that you keep the ribbons on the side, but make them larger, more killstripe sized.

Adding to Saint's reply, I'd put the ribbons in one continous line starting with the PH and then going down the line. Also instead of the turn signals, maybe put your firends rank there. Moving the marine corp symbol to where you have the rank now.

Have a good one,
James

Only problem with that is the USMC EGA is always at the front of the cover or helmet along with the left breast of the uniform cammie jacket. Of course now a days they dont sew rank on the cover any more.

Just make sure if you add an EGA put the NCO one on and not the officer. It's the details that will get you.

As always please correct me if I'm wrong here, I really am trying to get this right down to the details. The NCO EGA is the same as the enlisted one, all gold.. While the Officer EGA has a silver eagle, silver globe, and gold for the anchor as well as the continents on the globe.. If you're still having trouble with the images I'd be happy to e-mail you what I have, thanks for the heads up about that EGA.

Well the NCO EGA is the enlisted EGA. I made it sound like there was a "NCO EGA" out there, sorry. But your right about the officer one.

Well, Anyone here want to donate parts??

I would be willing to donate soft parts.

Let's see if we can get others here to donate :D

Ladysewforus, that's a great idea.

I've got a dark blue jumpsuit that I can donate. It says 44 Regular, but after washing and drying, it fits more like a 40-42 regular. Bought it new, never wore it just washed it once. I can also contribute a gloss black duty belt, like a Police belt.

PM me, if any of this would be useful. :cheers

That would be great!! I can donate the vest and neckseal, if Boba style is fine for the look you are going for, I can make the material side/belt pouches too!

It should be easy to piece together because this is a custom.

Add the Blood Stripe down the sides of the paints. And you can use the dress gloves for fett gloves, thats what I use when I first started.

I've been reading the messages on this forum for a few years now. I've seen true works of art, I've seen creativity like mad--for some reason, this really strikes me. I think it's the coolest thing I've seen. I have little completed of my own, so I don't have anything to contribute, and I really wish I did. Just wanted to say that. Really impressed with how classy and smart the design looks.
