having a prblem with armor placement

I'm kinda having a problem with armor placement.
How is the codpiece supposed to sit? I think mines too low, but would like to compare it to a another. What I'm aksing is for one of you to give me a pic of your armor minus the girth and ammo belt.

Another thing is that I had to improvise on the same piece: I atached the lower back (kidney?) armor to the codpiece with elastic to it's like a belt, but I also brought a strip from the point of the front underneath me to connect to the kidney plate. It looks similar to this pic. Is this the correct way to wear it?
This is driving me crazy because I'm going to my first 501st event on November 11th and need to get my armor ready.

Thanks,
ZK

Mine is all attached using velcro. I'm at school right now, so I'll get you some pics and a tutorial of how I did mine in a few hours.

that does look like the proper "fett thong", though i don't have that on mine... i just couldn't bring myself to do it. :)

as for where it sits... well, you want it to sit wherever it would need to offer the proper protection if it was really armor.

Hah, I ditched the "thong" idea too. Just wouldn't be right...

Waitaminut---The thong-style is actually accurate? I just did it so the cod had a curve to it.

BTW, update on my backplate: There are 6 spots that require gluing to ensure a proper fit. One is fully dried, the second is about 50-70% cured now. I will do one each day, which will bring it to being finished the day before halloween.
I will also give the rest of my armor a fresh coat of paint, as I finally discovered the reason for the peeling and chipping: The sealer I used was meant for acrylic based paints, not spraypaint. It hardened it to the point of making the paint a hard shell that cracks when bent.

GCNgamer128, I'll be waiting for those pics and that tutorial.

Thanks for all the help,
ZK

You shouldn't be able to go far wrong. After all, the cod-peice goes over your... errr... well... ummm... how to put it?... It goes over your.. equipment!

Exactly, it should fit where it will do the most protection to your downstairs. So it'll usually sit differently for most people

I imagine that if you ever played football on a team, or i high school, it shouldnt be too hard to figure it out. I have only one comment on this apparent "thong" idea- "eeeeewwww......"
