Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Hi people,
I'm still a newbie to TDH but I would like to solicit some advice you lot. I was wondering if anyone has made a Boba helmet in a post sarlacc form? As in, just-blew-it-up-and-now-lying-in-the-dune-sea kind of thing.
From what I remember of the Bounty Hunter Wars (and please correct me if i'm wrong) , Fett's helmet was still functional and he continued to wear it for a while, unlike the majority of his armour which was useless.
My question is two part;
1) Has anyone made one of these before? (i.e. with extensive acid scarring etc...)
2) Are there any illustrations out there in comics/fan fiction that anyone knows about that I could use as some kind of reference.
Cheers in advance.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I haven't seen one here on TDH, and I don't think Boba emerging from the Sarlacc was ever covered in anything other then the novels.
Would be bad *** though.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I thought it would look pretty sweet too, maybe I'll look into examples of the effect acid can have on metal... and the mind! Mwuh hah hah hah! Thanks man.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
That would be freakin awesome!
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
It isn't really that damaged, acid or otherwise, just the normal Fett, but here's an Unleashed figure of him fighting the Sarlacc;
http://gofigureactionfigures.com/product5552.html
ADD: Here's an artists rendition of Boba fighting the Sarlacc
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24.../sarlacc04.jpg
They don't show ot much damage, but I think this would be a great project. Go for it!
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
i think there would be supreme burns and scratches from the teeth
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Thanks all, and cheers to Toragh. Well that settles it, I'll start right away. I might actually do the full armour set complete with gaping holes and melted gadgets :lol
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I can't remember which book it was in, but in one of them Dengar asked Fett if he showed the person he was talking to his "sarlacc scars". Logically, in my mind, for there to be scarification to the face, the helm had to at least take *some* damage. Creative license will rock in this one, I think.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
"Creative license" to two sweetest words in the English language, after "de fault" of course...
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
If you decide to do the whole set, the Unleash Figure's Jet Pack has the gash in it from Han. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone. I'm not by my collection right now.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Hi again people, I've finally gotten around to starting this project (base colours done) but I've refrained from starting the extreme-weathering required because I'm still looking for some nice reference pics. I hear that the post-sarlacc Fett plays a prominent part in the Dark Empire comics, I've not read them and have only seen 1 picture from it which was small, 'zoomed in' on his visor and uncoloured - not too helpful in other words. Does anyone have these comics and have nice picture that they'd be kind enough to show me? Thanks in advance.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
You may be able to find the comics for download on a torrent site, but I don't think we are allowed to talk about that kind of stuff here.
I was wrong about the Unleash Fett Jet Pack, but I know I've seen some figure with the scarred pack somewhere... Good luck!
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Your idea sounds so great, I can't wait to see pics of it. 8)
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Yeah I checked out a few figures but I couldn’t find any gash on the jet pack either, anyway thanks for the tip askywalker98 I'll keep looking ( also, I have no idea what you were talking about with the whole comic suggestion, talk some sense man ;) ) So, at the moment I'm thinking I'll just go with whatever I think looks good, the nice thing about it is I can cover any paint bleed on the base colours with weathering - It's win win.
Anywho, can't stop here in bat country. Will post pics when significant progress has been made.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I believe a member here made a damaged Fett Jet Pack a long while back. It may be in the Jet Pack section, not sure. I remember seeing it a long time ago. Good luck finding those comics, and I was talking about downloading them, but that may not be so legal and what not, so maybe we should stay away from that.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I know what you meant! Subtly man, subtly. Ok, I’ll go for a swim in the Jet Pack archives then and see if I can find the one you mean. Thanks
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
That is TOO COOL! It's exactly the sort of thing I am doing on the range finder and one of the ears - except mine will be a burnt/melted look - with the wiring visible. Thanks askywalker98.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
To answer your question about the post Sarlac Fett. None of the comic books had Boba in any diffrent armor then he was seen in the movies. More or less I think they assumed Boba had multiple sets of armor, so the set ruined by the Sarlac would of been discarded. So blame lazy artist, but the only comic that had grown up Boba in anything besides his regular looking armor was Twin Engines of Destruction. And that just had Fett walking around in cloths all bandaged up.
So I guess the good news is you can go as wild as you want:cheering, just won't have an pre published references :fettesb
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I like the idea with the wiring, that will come out very nicely. Are you planning on having any of the internal parts showing through holes or whatever you decide to do on the helmet? Like if you have seen the inside of the Riddle Fett Helmet, or MarrowSun did a few runs of the real interior done life size cast in foam. Maybe I can dig up some of those pictures as well. A friend of mine was trying to buy something from MS since before Christmas, but MS has been very busy, so I'm not sure if you will be able to get the interior from him. You could always make it yourself though!
Not sure if you know this, but the keyholes are supposed to have a computer board behind them, as used on the real bucket. Maybe you could find this computer board (I've seen it cast in resin before) and reveal some of that? I'll try and find pictures for you...
EDIT: Alas, here is the keyslots Board: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showt...Circuit+Board]
http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/misc/...tt-Helmet2.jpg
Now to find MS's interior Details...
EDIT 2.0: I guess it's good I'm bored, here's the helmet interior! Man I love the TDH Search Function!
http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f23/full-size-helmet-interior-10273/
http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/attac...1&d=1132907448
Enjoy bro! Making it look really functional and everything (inside and out) would be really cool. If you put a servo in there for the RF, it would be really neat if it didn't work right, like it would only go up half way, then go up all the way. Just ideas to throw around.
Are you doing lights? If you did them and they were fizzled that would be cool. Not sure how to do all that. Good luck!
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Thanks Hagen. And a big thanks again to askywalker but you're killing me here! WOW look at all that stuff.:lol
To be honest I hadn't even thought of matching holes to the interior - that would look fantastic - but I probably wont for a few reasons.
1) Time; I have very little, that's why progress has been slow.
2) That's rather ambitious for minimal talent I have, but I’d love to do it when I get better. - the little bits I'm doing on the RF and ear are enough for me at the moment.
I'm trying using other effects to create the look of acid damage without resorting to holes, if done correctly they WOULD look great but I'm not confident in my abilities to attempt them. At the moment I'm using layering of paints to get that shiny multi-coloured effect acid creates on metal and deliberately making the paint crack and bubble in places to create a nice effect.
The bucket is a nice little fiberglass number I picked up on EBay AGES ago. It's not 100% accurate but was a very good price and I'm using it for this project as the 'damage' and weathering will hopefully mask some of its shortcomings.
All your suggestions I'm going to keep for when I get a really nice bucket and do this properly, that will be display only piece to be treasured. The one I'm working on will be a test so to speak, a series of mistakes to learn from.
Thanks again :cheers
Edit: Actually I may put some circuts behind the keyholes as well, that's 1 part where the bucket lets me down and could use some attention. Thanks.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Well good luck in all your efforts! And no worries, I'm not too hot at all of this mess either. Have fun with it! It's all a learning experience.

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Don't forget that you'll only need half a gun!:lol
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
For some reference, have you read the "Mandalorian armor?" It gives a brief description of Fett when Dengar picks him up.

I have indeed, that book was my main source of inspiration.

Now that's just foolish;). Clealy that gun would have been either destroyed in the Sail Barge explosion or salvaged by Jawas... pesky Jawas.

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Hi again fellow Fetters.
Just wondering what the etiquette is - should I post progress pics here or start a new "progress" thread?
Thanks
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Hmm... it doesn't matter really. I would personally start a new thread. Good luck!
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
OK... this is slightly nerve racking posting my stuff but here goes (It took me ages to be able to hit 'Submit Reply'):
Keep in mind this is not finished and is only a test run.

Range finder detail:

I want to add more of the detail I used on the rangefinder to other parts of the bucket. Also, I'll keep it consistent by continuing the scratches and scoring over the visor. I'm still trying to think of ways to make it look more damaged with out knocking holes in it... I'll post more when I have it.
Questions? Suggestions? By all means go for it... just be gentle to this poor newbie :)
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
that is really amazing looking, i love the level of detail your putting into it, the rangefinder wires, the bronze burn marks...its lookin really good, man
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Thanks! That really means a lot. When I have time, I'll post more.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
That looks pretty good Pesh. I really love the details in the rangefinder and the helmet itself. It looks great. Keep up the good work.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Hey bud thats lookin awesome! Keep up the progress cause I wanna see more of this suit.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
That looks great! How did you actually do the damage to the RF? It looks really realistic!
I think the real bucket already had more weathering on the front and such before the Sarlacc, so you may want to look in to adding that, then adding more damage.
The brown burn marks are great! How did you get that effect?
That looks amazing! Did you add the Lightsaber effect to Kit Fisto?
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Thanks people,
The RF detail was achieved with a hack saw to make the hole and to roughen up the edges, then I put in some electrical wire, then melted some solder around the hole (took me a few attempts to get it right, now its solid as a rock) and finally painted it - also the stalk was originally a gold colour painted silver so I could scratch it off realistically.
Yeah askywalker I know there's more screen accurate damage to add and that's what I'll be working on next (I'm dreading doing the back of it so I might make that part particularly sarlacc damaged :lol).
The burns I marked out with a soldering iron (this strips the paint VERY effectively) and then I just painted them in. All paints are enamel and a combination of rattle-can and model paints.

No. I have this cupboard see, and it brings toys to life, but I've since lost the key and frankly the little **** has become a real pest.
Thanks for the kind words.

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Very cool idea. I haven't read those books in a while (there's another one - Tales from Jabba's palace or Tales from the bounty hunters, I forgot which one). One of those books tells about what Boba Fett was feeling while in the Sarlacc, including which areas of his body were feeling the effects of the Sarlacc digestive acid making it's way through his "acid proof jumpsuit" and such.
The helmet idea (and frankly, full costume idea) is GREAT. But, like was said before, to achieve this look you'd have to match the ROTJ helmet paint job as accurately as you can (the correct scratches and dings and whatever) and THEN go crazy with the acid burns over that. I know large areas can be just acid burned and you wouldn't have to worry as much about the accurate ROTJ weathering, but on surface areas you can see on your existing helmet you'll have to match up the proper ROTJ scratch marks.
Fantastic project, dude. Can't wait to see your final product. :)

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
That's looking sweet! Sorry about your losing the keys to that magical cupboard.
I'd say add more damage to that big silver area, but I'm sure you already were planning on that. It's looking fantastic! Much better than anything I could have done.
Give me your Futurama!
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Hey I like it. I am really interested in seeing the whole thing done. I think it's hard to figure what Sarlacc Stomach juices that help keep you alive while slowly digesting you does to Mando armor made from that substance that slips my mind, but you know, the very tough/impenetrable stuff and such. Disolves the outside layers like a jawbreaker? eats away a hole then spreads? Would all the paint really be gone first? Would the color of the juice stick, like would it be some funky color? Well thats too crazy I guess..! Lookin' good, I really lite the RF damage, awesome.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I believe durasteel is the word your looking for "Rotton". But I've been wrong before, and in this thread too!
Maybe you should add a stomach acid odor to it. Ha ha!
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Mandalorian armor is made out of a special metal called "Beskar" or also Mandalorian Iron. Hence the Mandalorian word for armor is "Beskar'gam" =) It's much stronger than durasteel as it resists lightsabers, and some of the better made sets were so dense that the force could not penetrate some parts.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I guess that's 2 strikes for me in this thread. Great info NT, thanks!
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Negative, I alone am the keeper of the Futurama!
t_bone: Yes, yes I have
Rotton: Ack! So many ideas! Madness! :lol
NovallTalon: Spot on.
Thanks people for the kind words. Chin up askywalker, you've got one left ;)

Yes thats it! But regardless, we don't know how that would react. I love this idea, keep it going!

well I am in the middle of reading sacrafice and it said that Fetts armor is made of durasteel and not Beskar (sorry for going off topic)

well in the book they said how the empire striped the planet of beskar but they find more deep in the planet because one of the other mando black smith if thats what you call them offered fett a new set of armor made out of the beskar but he sticks with his old stuff.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
AH, then thats more understandable.

OK, initial work on the amour has been... initiated...
Again, these are first time around test pieces, I like making changes so please; suggestions welcome.
Also note: All the cuts, dents and scoring on the armour are actually there and not just painted (it's a bit hard to tell from the pictures admittedly)

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
If your going to burn the lights...I would go with maybe putting together your own board instead of ruining the one you have now.
Other then that you have really outdone yourself on this project! Looks awesome.

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
That is freakin' awesome! :skull
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
It's coming along really nicely.
I would suggest adding the yellow to the armor to show the under coats of paint as seen on the original suit. Also to add the same effect, add the gray and dark red paint bits on the helmet.
Keep up the good work.
:thumbsup

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Lookin good, it looks like **** (in a good way, not bashing). You may want to go over it with a wash of dirty craptastic-ness if you havent already.
What is your armor made from?
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
You'll also need to add the existing dings in the ROTJ armor (besides the yellow as mentioned before)....collar, left chestplate, ab plate, etc. Those parts are not all flat, but actually indented in certain spots.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Cheers people,
Yeah Clayster, I know what you meant :) And the armour (mine not Fett's) is made of Sintra. The correct dents and yellow paint still need to be added (as does some more work on the helmet which I've already started) as before mentioned, I have a weird way of working, i.e. in reverse...
Well, I'm off to get some real paints... can't use rattle cans for everything.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Your weathering is supurb, seriously!
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
That looks great! I like how the left chest piece has the burn mark. (Like a model rocket took off his boob!). Only problem I have is that the green seems a bit too dark, but your going to change it all anyways, so great v1.0! Good luck on the other painting and armor parts. I would consider burning the vest, but thats up to you. Good luck! This blows me away, seriously.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Updates coming...
Helmet has been retouched and I'm happy with it (variation on Reds mostly)
Askywalker, the green isn't really that dark, I had to choose between the w/flash picture (all detail washed out) or the artificial light photo (Colours are way off.) I'll try to take some better ones during daylight for the next update.
Thanks people.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Really nice looking weathering there! But what happened to Boba's old dents? :)

Lol, have to echo this remark.
Also...have you thought about your soft parts? Wouldn't the acid have eaten away all the soft parts? Lol...that would make for some "interesting" trooping =D
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Hey people,
Yes I did get eaten by the sarlacc, haven’t we all?
NovallTalon I've been racking my brains about what damage to do to the soft parts. Belts, etc... can just be horribly acid ravished, but the vest and flight suit...? I'm somewhat stuck.
I may have to "cheat" a bit by - either - having a really tough flight suit :b or I'm wearing a set of loaners from Dengar :b:b... believe it or not I'm leaning towards the latter as, realistically, he would have had to give Fett something to wear.
On that topic I'm wondering how much to weather the cod whilst still retaining Fett's pride... I'm guessing he got REAL lucky and that-whole-region got off unscathed :lol

t_bone I don't think I can take your last comment (or any on a similar topic) seriously with your avatar thrusting furiously like that...

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
great work, but the paint job seems a bit off to me, I mean the acid parts are great, but it doesn't look like it came off of Boba....the rest of the details are not there, like the yellow under the green, or the other parts that have green on it but are suppose to be worn off by previous battles and whatnot.
I love your work so far, I just think that if it looked a bit more Boba in detail, it would be even more impressive
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Hi Zeever,
I've been getting a few comments along the same lines here and I thought I should clear some things up.
Firstly, I really appreciate everyone's tips and encouragement. Thanks. :)
Second, I didn't ever intend this to be a screen accurate Boba, just something to wear at Halloween etc... (and yes I know a lot of you wear your 100% Fetts to Halloween too but I'm not that diseased yet :lol)
This just started after I picked up a cheap helmet and some cheap armour off eBay as a fun project to do in my rare free moments (don't let my being signed in all day fool you, I work :b).
However, people's suggestions and the effort they put into their own work sort of motivated me to keep making changes. I'm just going for a general impression of Fett, I would love the time/money/mad-skills to make a screen accurate Boba but that's not happening soon.
So, if anyone else here is thinking of doing a post-sarlacc Boba I would like to metaphorically hand over the reigns to more capable hands, whose take on this I would eagerly await.
Thanks
.... oh also; I've added the yellow to the armour too, I'll post pics of it and my new-and-improved helmet paintjob tomorrow (in a couple of hours).
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I'm excited! New picture updates coming soon!
Don't be hard on yourself. You got mad skillz! Keep it up bro!
I believe the daughter thrusting took place post-sarlacc... wow.
-
Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Yeah, don't be hard on yourself. This is seriously one of the most interesting Boba projects I've ever seen on here (along the lines of the guy who made a realistic Holiday Special version of Boba) and I've been here since the beginning. Like we've all said, just make the unscathed parts as close to the ROTJ suit as you can (because that's the suit you're really trying to match up to), and all the rest can be covered up with the excellent "acid" weathering you have already shown us in your previous pictures.
As far as the jumpsuit, the old armor posters that Lucasfilm released about Boba's Mandalorian armor said it was supposed to be a double layered jumpsuit so it would be a pretty tough material in the Star Wars universe. Here's my idea for it..... rip up certain sections of the suit like on the arms or legs so you can see down to the skin. Then use some sort of prosthetic burned skin effect that people will be able to see underneath. Think of a Jason from Friday the 13th type effect. You don't even need to spend the time doing makeup on yourself. Attach the burned skin pieces to underarmor or some other tight clothes. You might also want to spray sections of the jumpsuit (and armor, actually) with something like Perma-Wet or some other kind of FX gel type coating to give it a glossy liquid type coating (much like the mucus that would likely exist inside the Sarlacc). You could go as far as using silicone or something to make drips of gross mucus hanging off armor parts and stuff like that. (Think Gammorean Guard mouth saliva). That would take the costume to the highest level possible.....like you had literally just gotten out of the Sarlacc pit. :D

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Wow Mr Fett those are some great ideas I would have never thought of! I can imagine how great that would all turn out in the end!

Well thanks people, and Mr Fett I think you've solved all my problems... project related that is.

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Here are some new pics, still none of the colours look right because of the horrible combination of my artificial lighting and my overblown flash. That being said, the helmet pics are a lot closer to what they look like in person than the last ones I posted....
Armour:
Yellow added (dents not yet but coming), flight-suit is not weathered yet, I'll be following Mr Fett's above suggestions for that:

New and improved helmet paint job:

some of the detail on the top:

That’s it for now, a little bit more later then a lot more a lot later as I'll be away for over a week.

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Don't forget to add those two main silver 'dinged' areas on the right shoulder bell, and the catwhisker yellow around the normal silver spots on the shoulder bells. Also, the ROTJ helmet didn't have any green on the left earpiece as you have on yours. Both earpieces were normally just a bare metal color.
Gotta scum up that vest to match the armor parts that are attached to it, too. ;)
Keep up the good work! Are you going to use a jet pack? If so it's gotta be the force pike damaged one like pictured at the top of this thread. :)

Ah, whoops :b. Thanks for that.
Yeah, shoulder bells will get their silver & yellow tonight, but I'll leave the vest/flight-suit weathering till I get back.
As for the jet pack, it's the last thing on the list atm - I still need gauntlets.
I'm considering starting a Wanted to Buy thread for busted, broken, etc... Fett parts. Get 'em for less and incorporate the damage, I imagine the gauntlets would be the worst hit by the Sarlacc acid what with all the numerous components.

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
:cheers AWESOME CONCEPT AND EXECUTION!
Very good weathering on all the metal. An idea on how to stain or weather the soft parts, jumpsuit etc, would be to use coffee as a staining agent. Safe, cheap and readily available. It worked great on some vampire teeth. They came out looking very realistic. Mr Fett had a great idea about the rips and some scarred skin beneath. I think the jet pack would have been beat ALL to He!!, or you could say it didn't even make it out of the pit
Can't wait to see the whole thing!
Keep up the good work!

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
I think the original paint job on the bucket was better.
Also, are you going to weather the vest?
Where are Boba's original dents too?
Just askin, no offense meant by it

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?

From the ROTJ costume wearer's perspective: Upper left outside of left chest plate, as well as 2 dents on lower part of that plate....upper right edge of ab plate as well as lower edge....3 holes drilled through entire plate in a triangular pattern on lower left of ab plate. Inside right edge of collar armor, as well as a 4 smaller dents on left side of collar armor....one dent on right side of backplate, diagonally between the harness strap hole and outside edge of plate......one large and a couple small dents in codpiece. The 2 dents on the right shoulder bell are iffy, because in the AOSW suit they are there and in the MOM suit they are not. In the movie itself it's hard to tell. The knees also have some denting.
But I'm not looking right at a pic to tell you where. :lol

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Hi Pesh, awesome job you're doing mate! Your suit's gonna be a showstopper when it's done!!!
Some ideas for the soft parts:
Gloves: Maybe think about ripping fingers away so yours are exposed, possibly burning the backs of the gloves - in a controlled environment of course - or maybe give them to your dog for an hour or two!!! While they're damp from dog saliva, take them out the back and rub them in the dirt!!! :D
Cape: I would think about cutting it back to elbow length (or poss half elbow/half full length...) and using the same weathering technique (of your choice) to give it the burnt look.
Gauntlet pipes: I'd take a file to thes so you have several gaping holes in them, then apply real heavy yellowing to them.
Shoes: As per Mr Fett's post above, I would try to cover them in something so that they permanently look wet, in fact I'd be tempted to go up as far as the knees, even part way up the thigh! Also, possibly round down one or two of the foot spikes, or bend them out.
I also had a thought for your blaster, what I think would look really cool is if it was painted to look as though it had been part stripped down to the metal, and maybe some bite/teeth damage in the stock or the sight!??
Ok thats it from me I think, hope you like (at least some of) my ideas!
I'd be honoured if you took some of them on board!!!
If I've reiterated anyone else's ideas here then I do apologise, I don't mean to be a tea leaf!!!
Keep up the good work mate, and post pics OFTEN!!!! :thumbsup

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Thanks Paul they're some nice ideas, I love the knee-deep in sarlacc slime one!
I've just got back from a skiing holiday (where I won a costume party I might add) so I have no new progress yet. When I have some, I'll post it :)

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
You're welcome Pesh, only too glad to help!!!
I just found this page, which was directly linked from TDH (Those with a weak stomach beware!)
http://www.bugsinmyhead.com/wia.html
Its a Starship Troopers Infantryman that was impaled by a bug in the film.
I thought the idea might appeal. At the very least, it's a good showcase for the effect of fresh blood (or any other fluid) on armour!
I didn't post pics here cos it's fairly grim!!
Hope its useful!!! :cheers

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
Darth Paul, that Starship Troopers page you posted is the guy that originally started this board, The Dented Helmet. ;)

Re: Has anyone allready done this helmet idea?
DPaul, that link is pretty sweet! Great effect there. Pesh, are you going to have Boba stabbed through the chest? Ha ha just kidding, but those fluids look great on that suit!

Hah! No way!!! Talented guy!!! The work in that infantryman uniform looks awesome!!! And he must be SO proud of this site!!
Thanks for the encouragement guys!!!
Pesh I dunno if getting a spike right through your Fett does it for you, but I guess it'd be possible for the Sarlacc to leave a few teeth here or there, kinda like a shark attack!!?
Right, I'm off to bed, going to Celebration Europe in the morning!!! :cheering
