    Har-en (Bullet) Macar Mandalorian Captain

    Here is the big update!

I still have peices to construct and from to fit properly, and I'm still designing the cod, thigh, boot, and forearm

I still need to make a weapon :/ Don't know exactly what to have....as this has come together I feel like he is more of a melee Character
(Besides swords don't run out of bullets they just turn into bludgeoning weapons after awhile.)

I'm debating on a color scheme. I already have the black/red/silver look from my soft parts and I may go dark gray or a red/gold mix

This character is defiantly more of a Captain, Renowned for his ability with a blade...wait stop me from making a Bio just yet!

The Pauldrons I had purchased last year at Gencon, I had a mask but I have no idea where it went off too. I'm also looking for my mini flak jacket if you will (the second layer had more of a vader look, only came a a few inches below my neck line.) I am concerned since I can't find it because It was a perfect fit with the costume.

What I am going to do is use a boba fett costume/design and add to the arms and leggs where there is no armor

It will cover up the Pockets but I am not really worried about that, I will hopefully also be able to form a deathwatch helmet

Re: WIP Mandalorian Armored Heavy Trooper

To help give you an idea of heavy Modern Era Mandalorian armor, here is the link to my thread here: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showt...-and-new-armor The most recent pix are the kit as it stands now. To achieve the "heavy" look I went well beyond Jangos armor. I also wanted to keep it obviously Mandalorian and obviously Modern Era in nature. I think a heavy set of armor from a different era, say the KOTOR era could look more like clone armor, being fully enlcosed. However, in the modern era, the Mandalorians armor isnt an infantry based design it's more of a specialist type armor designed for maximum mobility and coverage. Hence the coverage design. The vital area's are covered without addig the bulk weight and mobility hampering effects of enclosed armor. I based alot of my armor more on the appearance of the Mandalorians in the Legacy comics. Actually from Cade Skywalker before the Mando's were shown. My armor coverage is as follows...

    Helmet
    armored collar
    torso plates (front and back)
    large belled shoulder
    enclosed bicep armor
    elbow armor
    gaunts
    armored gloves
    cod
    heavy kama
    thighs
    knee's
scaled shins (currently being upgraded to enclosed shins)
    heavy 4 piece boot armor.

It's alot more coverage beyond Jango and the mobility is much hampered compared to a Jango set. However, I'm way better off than a clone or TK for mobility!

Re: WIP Mandalorian Armored Heavy Trooper

    How about this

In addition to the boba fett template

Reinforce the sides of my waist and below my armpit (this has to be two peices as most of us bend between our ribcage and hipbone)
I will definatly Use a Larger Shoulder Peice but I don't quite know where to get a template, I will then have the boba peice as a second layer attatched under it hanging out
I will reinforce the gloves with an armor layer covering the shape of the pads
The exposed area to the left and right of the breastplates I will put a small shaped strip to help fill the gap between it and my shoulder
I think the Jango peices would fit nicley on my shin and upper leg and further add to the armor
Elbow pads would be nice but i will have to see how they fit around a boba gauntlet and may have to adjust shape and size

Love the shoulder pads! and curious what material did you make the armor plating out of? it looks to thick to be trash can armor.

That has a bit of a shogun look to it with the pauldrons and the girthbelt and kama set up. It definately looks heavy.

I used PVC, first I had to heat it up and flatten it out, then had to put the template on so it was with the curve of teh PVC piping, otherwise it would work against the curve and turn out wrong.

Looks great, man! The studded shoulder pads realy add that 'bad-to-the-bone' look. They look almost segmented, do they flex in any way?
I'll be interested to see what color scheme you go with.

Re: WIP Mandalorian Armored Heavy Trooper

Here are some pictures of the sword I am building, it is obviously no where near completion...I just threw together the skull to show you guys how it will all work

((Btw this was started with permission of patient_zero))

The Space in between the skull will be filled with another 2 layers of PVC to match the handle and blade

I will use bondo (I think that will work) to give everything more of a rounded look (giving the skull the extra rounding it needs to not look like 4 layers of PVC)

I haven't gotten around to making a blade however, it defiantly won't be a great-sword because of the scale, but if I can get this to work it will be much easier to make a great-sword version

***On a side note***Could I possibly make this out of a foam material then reinforce it with resin and bondo? If so that would be sooooo much easier

Will add pictures when they finally get to my computer from my phone

Here is an update with one of my gauntlets almost complete. Here is the setup for ya

There are two blade at the end meant for close quarters fighting
Between the blades are a set of Electrical Points that can surve as currents for a short range stun or if impaled by the blades it shuts down your central nervous system
One side of the Gauntlet fires a Chemical agent that is highly corrosive, in fact it must be mixed while sprayed to avoid eating away the contain it would be stored in! (that is the reason for two hoses on one side)
The other is for your flame thrower junkies
The control panel on the back is a new model and can be used for Holocommunication

Hope that answers the question, they didn't have any neon/florescent green so I went with red and "nickel satin" I have a black base to give the nickel a little less shine

Awesome, man! That sucks that you weren't able to get the green, but the red turned out reeealy good.
The nickel paint looks alot like metal....I might have to get some.
anyway, can't wait to see the finished product

Weathering is done for the main plates including Cod and Neck

The Gauntlets/Helm/Jetpack have all been ordered and should arrive shrotly!
I have made the shoulders stick out less so they don't protrude as much.

I got my gauntlets in today! took less time to paint them than what I thought but they turned out great. A little tight on the left one buy I can cut back some of my material to help with that. Just waiting on my jetpack and helmet and I'm good to go (couldn't get a pic of my shin armor before the camera died.)

Well this is it! I just want to put a red line on the center chest peice and I'm complete (aside form a weapon and attaching the rangefinder)
Fits comfortably and Needs some velcro adjustments for the armor parts but other than that I'm satisfied!

Generally the back part of the neck peice will be mroe or less hidden by the jetpack which I was not able to equip myself

The updates to the suit....obviously made the vest an actual vest....it's hard to believe it was so much easier to move after the alterations were made. I still have to sew up the arm areas to hide the flip side of the fabric, my other gauntlet is in repair now and i have tubing for the gauntlet on that is not shown.

I will also have a sword (Currently a katana) that will help show my character is a Captain
