    Aug 19, 2006, 2:14 AM - Greetings fellow armor wearers! #1

Some of you may remember me, I haven't posted in about a year. But, I was going through some old storage boxes and came across what was left of my old Custom.

Unfortunatly, the suit has pretty much been destroyed. The helmet was crushed and split in two, and the armor is too small for me to fit into anymore, but it wasn't a good set of armor anyway.

A friend and I have decided that we'd like to make a fanfilm, and that it's time to start building costumes again. It's been a long time, but I've been leaning towards a Death Watchman design, the only thing I don't like is the helmet design.

Another problem is, I've gained weight since I made a costume last time. So, I don't know how well a Mando suit will fit me. So I was wondering if any of you had any ideas or suggestions on how to sort of...disguise my belly while in the costume. I was thinking of enlarging the shoulder bells a little and adding a black cape or cloak with a black or dark blue flight suit.

Another thing I'd like to try to create are a pair of Crush Gloves. My same friend was telling me about a Mandalorian in an eBook he just bought who took out a Yuuzhan Vong wearing Crab armor with his bare hands, crushed his neck and shattered the crab-head armor.

Now, that's power...and that's the weapon and look I've been waiting for to complete my custom idea, my...final touch if you will. If you have any ideas as to how I should make those and still look Mandalorian, I'd really appreciate it.

I look forward to showing you all my progress.

    Peace, Love and Chicken Grease!

How much "size" are we talking. If a couple of inches spread the plates out slightly more. If we are talking a lot, you are probably better off starting over since the armor plates will look too small.

As far as the ebook, it is called A Practical Man and written by Karen Traviss. She is very Mando and fan friendly. Her email is mail@karentraviss.com and website is http://www.karentraviss.com, but she is currently reviewing the editing of a book so it might be a bit before she can respond to an email.

Depending on how much you have changed there are several options I would suggest. If it is a little I would suggest like Wookiegunner said and just space the plates out a bit more. If it is a large change then I would looking into a back brace. It not only will support your back but it will help shape your body to look tighter. Also if you are not too worried about $$$, look into a law enforcement style armored vest. You can find them on Ebay. It will support your belly as well as thicken up your chest for a more solid look.

I never considered that. Thanks. In fact today I was just thinking about some variants I could do on the chest armor, and a Riot Vest was one of the ideas that came to mind.

I'm going to go ahead and start completely over with my armor, because the parts I got from the guy on eBay were cut like crap, and they were too small anyways. So, I'm probably going to just do some Trash Can armor because nobody really makes the torso armor or vests in my size.

I'm not one of those people who are like, ashamed of my weight or whatever. But, I figured that a warrior would be in a lot better shape than I am.

But, I'll definatly look into that vest, thanks.
