Hi all

I'm building a custom mando and am after a good bucket. I've been outta the game a while and was after advise on what is a decent lid at a decent price.

Peace Crabman

aaahh... that's the question that plagues most of us... I've found that there are many decent buy'ce... but there are NO decent prices! lol Unless, u can do like I am and get another custom builder to assemble one (in their free time) and do it for you at or near cost. The problem with this approach is that they're working on their time, not yours and... that may take a LOOONG time. Fortunately all I have is time so it's not a problem for me. I know that there are some folks over on MandoMercs who make pretty good buckets for around $85-150... depends on what u want to pay for it i guess. There's also a "budget bucket" on here somewhere fairly cheap around $100 and SAZ makes a good one but I think his is a lil more costly. hope that helps!

you can get a jango bucket with a really good form for under 35 USD.

its a really good first helmet, before upgrading to the more expensive versions.

i wasnt talking about ebay as the price fluctuates.

but yeah, those are prolly the ones. i like em better than the 40 USD helmets that go for near a hundred on ebay.

ive got three now.

u're talkin' about the Rubies type right? yeah I hear those are easy to work with... but some are worse than others and it really depends on whether that particular one is a better or worse one. Just what I read here on the forums, no personal experience with 'em tho...

yeah. they are all the same. you do the same mods to each, and they will all look the same when done. not that they all NEED those mods, but its helps in the long run.

:D

Mine's the budget bucket bud, about $115 with current currency conversion, the major problem with me is that I live in the UK, so you would have to pay a hefty fee for postage (If you live in the US, you live in the Midlands UK, I'll probably pop it round). It is pretty sturdy as it has a layer of fiberglass and a layer of glass microball infused resin in it.

However, I would suggest a cheaper version for the moment, like the Jango that has been suggested. Unless of course they have a big noggin, then they will need to look into investing into a 1:1 scale helmet.

Everything in Cosplay is a budget vs quality balancing act.

agree.

the 2pc jango however we test fit saturday on a guy who is 6'1" and it fit nicely. it was in proportion. however, if you DO have a big head, youll need one of the MSH's

Hey Crabman, I know your down there in Sidney...and getting anything shipped to you out of country is going to kill you in shipping costs.

The Rubies 1 piece jango as everyone else has stated is probably your cheapest option. If price isn't that big of a concern then you can always grab a Sgt. Fang resin helmet which may be a little more durable and still keep it under $200 after shipping.

You ever get your Boba sold off?

Hmm, that's odd, I thought I had posted pictures here last night for you...
