    Giving away some armor...

Su'cuy ner Mando'ade! I have a set of sintra armor plates Im giving away.

    I

I dont know who out there is interested, they arent Boba Maker quality stuff but I know one of you could use these. They have a hammered silver base coat and are carved with various damage. Im also including some black tailored pads to add to whatever vest for more stable mounting platform for the plates. I dont know any of you personaly so I want to make this kinda fun to see who gets them.
For anyone interested, heres the deal. Come up with the be best way you can think of to go about tackling my proposed scenario, The one that I think is the best gets them, that simple. I figured you guys like Mandos so much might as well think like one for a bit. All I ask is that you pay for the shipping and they are yours.

    Mission:

A squad of your fellow Mando'ade are pinned down inside the south east corner of a rectangular 2 story bunker by 2 companies of Antarian Ranger infantry. One company in the North east side, half of the second outside the building the other half securing the roof. You recruit a squad of 7 Mandos, their specialties up to you as well as their kit, to go in and get them out. You have one light armored drop ship. How do you go about it?

This should be fun for those interested with an imagination. Its not a detailed scenario so it leaves alot of room for creativity. Ill be busy with school so Ill let you know who Ill send them to after Ive read on friday. Have fun with it.

    Re: Giving away some armor...

Since it’s a bunker I assume there’s no windows, a front and back door, and access from the roof since the enemies covering it. So I’d assign my best pilot to take the drop ship along with two (maybe three) of the best snipers. The drop ship would provide an aerial vantage point for the snipers to take out the guys on the roof, without getting shot at too badly. For the guys outside I’d have two of my best grenadiers laying down a barrage of frags to clear the perimeter. Then after the baddies outside are dead, I would do either of the following depending on the real time situation
    (1) (no southern door) I would personally lead the remaining two (or three) mando’s in through the north entrance by breaching and clearing the room(s), either manually or with grenades, depending on where the pinned down mando’s were. After clearing I’d call in the grenadiers from outside to take care of/replace any wounded mando’s. The drop ship would be on patrol duty outside to make sure no new baddies showed up. Then my team would make there way to the hostages, secure them and extract via drop ship.
(north and south have a door) Second scenario: the pinned down mando’s are at the back (southern) door but can’t get out because of the enemy troops outside. I’d clear the roof via the drop ship like last time, then take out all enemies on the southern side via snipers, then do a stealthy breach in through the southern door get my people, extract them. Then plant a proton charge to take care of the enemies at the northern end of the building. After we’re all safely into the drop ship and on our way I would detonate the charges and watch the fireworks.

I'm bored... and free armor's free armor right?

Yeah its the same. Its been sitting in the corner for a few months. I figured someone could use it. I know how expensive this stuff can get and lots of guys/gals dont have the funds. Its not the greatest but someone could make it work, and its free. Thats a good price right? I just thought this would be a fun way to give it away.

    Re: Giving away some armor...

"Squad Six, here is the sitrep." The seven commandos made no sound, their faces impenatrable behind their carbon black visors.

Kan Vellan, their Commander faced them, the mission area map on the screen.

"Decc's squad has gotten backdoored by 2 companies of Antarian Rangers. Yeah, the modok bastiches came in under cover of Nisstarik Mist grenades. They eliminated Squads Sixten, Novak and Bello. To say that Intel missed the mark again, is a massive understatement."

Sharek Rep, Vellan's 2nd in command spoke up:
"Sir, we can be are prepped for a quick explosive entry rapidly. If a stealth slice and dice op is required, it may take longer to retrofit gear."

Vellan didn't reply at once. He stared at his helmet's HUD, analyzing the incoming data.

"Squad Six's situation has grown more dire. The Antarians have brought up a Devorian Six-pak. The building will be reduced to rubble and our comrades to puddles if we give them time to charge it up."

The seven Mandalorians tensed as one, fingers flexed on sidearm weapontry, anxious to move.

"Sharek, I need six ready for explosive action. You'll bring them in hard and fast. I'll take three and and come in from the side, slicing our way to their artillery..."

    ...more later...

I'm sending a PM with my idea of the image of this.....no point in making it easy for competition, eh?

    I really want this stuff.

Also, are the prisoners on the 1st or 2nd floor?

    Re: Giving away some armor...

Well, BH, I think you may beat me, as this is all I have:

    I recruit:
    1 demo. specialists,
    3 snipers,
    1 negotiator
    2 spec. ops soldiers.

    I would:
go in under the cover of night with a EMP to scramble all of their equipment
Order the dropship to wait a mile away for my signal.
Station a sniper in a position where each has a view of 2 sides of the bunker.
Have the negotiator slowly approach the main entrance while me and the others go behind.

Now, aside from the orders already given, I’d play it by ear:
While the guys outside went to see what the negotiator wanted, the demo would make us an entrance with a silent explosive. We’d sneak through to see where the interior guards are stationed, the spec. ops guys would take them out with mechanical precision and we’d continue on our way to the SE corner. When we came across the stairs, I told the demo and one spec op to check the lower level while me and the other spec op would secure the upper floor.
After 30 minutes, I found the other mandalorians. After signaling the rest of the team, we made our exit, to find that the negotiator had been shot in the face. It turns out that our visors can’t take a hit very well.

Anywho, we escaped (barely) with our lives. I kinda forgot about the guys on the roof, so we got peppered on our way out.

I also have a pic of the bunker, but I forgot that it's a 2-story one.
I can't really write if I'm given restrictions on it (a squad of only Mandos), unless I'm allowed to recruit Boba, Jodo, Jaster, and Jango. (hint, hint)

I'm really desperate for sintra armor, too. (puts on most pitiful face)

    Re: Giving away some armor...

.... with the dawn comming quickly and no radio communication's with in the last
two days Tango five was becomming worried that thier last transmissions didnt
make it threw. Turning to his only able body man left and whisppering a few
words the sentry nodded and ran from the room. Looking down at two dead and
3 wounded men his thoughts flew back to the begging of this whole mess...

    (Two Days Before)

"Matdengo get up here now! we need heavy fire support!" he shouted as rounds
whizzed by his head making him duck and cover quickly. As he turned looking
for a response he saw Matdengo laying in a pile of blood and two other men carrying
off anther man badly wounded. "Jac' Lek send a transmission now!. Final attempt at
securing bunker failed. Men falling fast but about to breach outter doors. End
    transmission."
Feeling something hitting his collar bone and knocking him down, Va Rok Sien,
grabbed his FW5G and returned fire in the direction the round came from, but noticed
no action was taken. "what the hell?" he thought." looking down he noticed the small
trickle of blood that was now turning into a stead down pour of blood staining his
suit. "Medic!" and the sky went to a fazed blackness and then nothing....

Awaking to the sound of a stim-pak henoticed that the Medic who was treating him
was not Mandolorian. Trying to get up he noticed that he had been strapped
to a bed. Looking up at the man was a Antarian Ranger Medic, covered in blood
and bandaged himself. "who the hell.." A fist dug hard into his cheek. "Im not who you
think I am." " Im with you .. you sent me here four mounths ago as a infiltratior,
remeber?" Openning his eyes a little wider Tango Five did recognize the man.. it was his
    brother Zal Dek. What happened?
We broke threw right as you were hit. The men inside didnt have a chance. Jac' Lek took
out the first six men before getting hit and managed to fall down on the track run for the
doors. His last action and a warrior, was to keep the doors open. After that we captured
the bunker and found nothing here other than a few containers of spice and a old man claiming
to be a jedi." "he wound up being a old man who knew nothing but false hoods and trickery."
We sent him out as a decoy .. he didnt last long againt the others."

"what! that old man you were talking about was the man we were looking for!" " He's not a
jedi, but he knows were to find the one." "let me Loose, NOW!"

The next two days went by as a blur. A few men on each side dying and running communications
back and forth on the comstats. And then it happened. The sound of a Troop Transprt hitting
the roof after a hail of thermal rounds pounded the bunker. the doors sealed shut, and the
lights inside started to go dark.

"Tango Five. Tango Five. Send one man to the gunner window on south west wall with a Mando
Flare. Fire one flare green to identify. Over." Tango Five didnt hesitate. Jek you heard him
do it now." Following orders Jek did so. "Tango Five Inbound on your location in three..
    two..

With a thundering crack and a blinding glow the north east side of the bunker lite up. Screams
were heard and the sound of a fearce fire fight ensued. People outside the bunker yelling
something. then the sound of heavy gun fire, thermal explosions and a small crack unnoticed
except by Tango Five were heard.

getting up Tango Five looked out the Gunners window. He noticed two men running criss cross
the perimiter. He knew these men. Jedzen Blak and Drezden Younger, both from the Mando Wars.
They were unsung men who fought threw hell and back for him. One losing a arm the other lossing
everything. "Jadzen, whats happening?! Whos with you?" Radio silence was all that was heard.

    Seven hours earlier.....

Jadzen watched thre his minoculars as dozens of men stormed the roof and the outter walls of
the bunker. "Alpha one ready." came in threw the ear bud. "Alpha two ready." and down to Alpha Six.
At the moment Jedzen Fire a shot the sent a Captian realling forward and stopping his heart before
he knew what hit him. The man beside him turned.. he too fell. Alpha Two commed in . "Go. GO. GO."
As that order went threw the ear buds seven shots hit sergeants and officers alike. Spinning
the Antarian Ranger COmpanys into chaos. Small explosions hit the roof and northeast corner of the
bunker like presission snippers hit one shot one kill targets.

Antarian Ranger LT. Dango looked around to find out were the shots came from taking one in the
    face visor. ....

The rest is in another Chapter...
( tacticle operations next , the way id run the assault and retrievle of corpses)

    Re: Giving away some armor...

First off, I'd curse that squad for getting themselves pinned down in the first place, especially without an exit strategy. What the frak was their CO thinking? It's pretty obvious at this point that they're not going to last much longer, so I'm going to forgo subtle tactics. My squad would consist of two snipers, two heavy weapons experts, two demoltion men (having pairs of experts ensures that if one is taken out, the plan can still be executed), a pilot, and myself. While flying toward ground zero from the south, I'd have my demo experts fire off a couple long-range mortars or rockets off the north side of the bunker as a distraction, hopefully taking out some of the Antarians there. Upon closer approach, I'd drop a path of remote detonators on the ground, a-la the Clone Wars ARC troopers, ensuring an open exit route. Taking advantage of the distraction caused by the explosions on the north side, I would then have my snipers begin taking out the squad of Antarians on the roof, with support fire from my heavy weapons duo, and cover fire from myself on the ship's light guns. My team of demolitions experts would simultaneously create a new door in the south west corner of the building (assuming there isn't one there already). At this point, the resistance on the roof should be minimal to nil, and my snipers would be watching for the approach of the Antarian squad from the north as they would now most likely attempt to flank from both the east and west sides of the bunker. My pilot would maintain a sweeping pattern, laying down suppressive fire, while I and my remaining heavy weapons and demo experts dropped to enter the bunker through it's new back door. Hopefully, the trapped squad of Mandos has had the good sense by now to move toward the south exit. If not, I'd send in some grenades and a rocket toward the northern interior to scatter the Antarians inside and cover our escape, laying down heavy weapons fire obscured by a smoke screen. Once the trapped Mando squad was out, we'd all be hoisted back into the ship by repel lines as my snipers continued their work. As we pulled out, the proximity mines left at the exit point should take out any Antarians who managed to come through or around the bunker, and as we flew off, I'd detonate the explosives we earlier left on the ground, ensuring us a straight and safe path out. Mission accomplished.

dont get me wrong guys, Im really enjoying the story style here and am very curious to see how they end, It may save you, but Dak Jerek is in the lead right now with that plan. The use of indirect mortar/arty, precision fires, squad and mission planning has been the most sound, considering the situation and the speed of execution. Im a sniper so Im kind of a detail buff. Good plans, but I like this one the best so far. I love the creativity going on. I have to get to Mass Com now. Catch you guys later.

Ive read these entries again and I have to say that some of these can really blow up into some action packed fan fics. I really like some of the Mando names too, very "Star Warsy" sounding. I can see it going on. Its interesting to see the different writing styles too. I wish I had stuff to give all of you. Keep it up.

I would like to state that I have not read any other responses in an effort to be fair.

I assume the drop ship is the CR20 Troop Carrier.

    Mandalorians Recruited:
    1.) Heavy Weapons Specialist
    2.) Sniper
    3.) Heavy Gunner
    4.) Communications Specialist
    5.) Demolitions Specialist
    6.) Commando
    7.) Pilot

First, I'd set the Troop Carrier some distance away, leaving the pilot at the controls. We may need him later. When the squad is within range, Communications will establish a link with our pinned-down bretheren over a secure channel in an effort to boost morale. They will be updated regularly. Through this, their position is determined, and the squad will shift position to compensate. Sniper will take position within the branches of a tree, Heavy Weapons nearby, both keeping an eye on the Antarians on the ground and roof. They are in constant contact with the squad, updating them on any significant movement made. Since we are heavily outnumbered, stealth is required; we'd approach the southwest corner of the building, our Commando inserting a strain of the Candorian Plague(fast acting, extremely contagious airborne plague) into the ventilation shafts. As the Mandalorian helmets filter out any known diseases, they will remain safe. The Antarian Rangers, however, do not sport helmets; rather, their faces are exposed. Communications relays this to the pinned Mandos, then instructs Sniper and Heavy Weapons to reign down a suppressive fire on the Antarians that are on the ground. This serves as a distraction for those who are outside. The attack from the outside serves to confuse the interior Antarians, causing them to halt their attack on the Mandalorians. It is at this point that Communications instructs those who are pinned down to press their attack; Demolitions would blow a hole in the North-Eastern wall using proton charges, the squad coming in behind and to the right of the Antarians to put them in a deadly crossfire. Heavy Gunner would lay down major fire with the minigun in his posession, Commando pouring his own into the group using a BlasTech A-280 blaster rifle. Communications holds back outside, still linking the squads together. By this time, the Candorian Plague has taken effect, dropping the Antarians quickly. That, combined with surprise and inescapable crossfire, would finish off the company inside. Communications contacts Pilot, and instructs him to bring the transport to their location.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the building, Heavy Weapons and Sniper have been distracting the second company, picking them off. After each shot, they move to a different location to avoid detection. Once the Mandalorians are clear of the building, Heavy Weapons begins unloading the explosive artillery; grenades, as well as the shoulder-mounted proton torpedo launcher. As the Mandalorians retreat from the building, Demolitions hurls a few charges into the second-story window. The charges detonate, collapsing part of the roof. The transport, moving at full speed, arrives by this time, unleashing its twin turbolasers on the entire structure and the surrounding Antarians. Any survivors are picked off by the both squads of Mandalorians, who have moved all moved into positions surrounding the now-destroyed building (at a distance, of course, to avoid the backlash of turbolaser fire). Once the carrier is done, the Mandalorians manually inspect the remains, ensuring that their every one of their foes have been eliminated. As soon as that's finished, they load themselves into the transport, and head back to base for repairs.

Boba_Fett_03 thats awesome ner vod. Mandos wouldnt have any beef with using bio-weapons. That was a nice touch! I like the fact that you tried to get comms with the pinned squad to raise morale, thats huge to real soldiers! Let me tell you from first hand experience, I was caught in a IED ambush in Iraq and engaged some scumbags at 50 meters with 16 203 HEDP rounds. We were there for a good twenty minutes and when I heard on my headset that the QRF was coming to get us it was an awesome feeling.
These entries are great so Im going to have to enlist the judgement of my Good friends Ed and Matt. Ed was my sniper partner in Iraq and he's a big mando Fan too, and Matt was an awesome saw gunner with the bigest set of brass nuts on a kid, both hard core Mando fans. I want them to help me so its a fairer judgement. They might like one more than I do so there will be a majority decision. Im also going to throw in a CQB style grenade launcher/blaster combo weapon I was working on, totally origional, and hand made like the verp. Ill post a pic of it tomorrow morning. That way two of you will get something out of this. I feel bad there is only one set of armor I have to give cause this is some good stuff.
No better fans than Mando fans. Again

    cont:

Again good job. Id also like to say Im glad to see some decent gramar. Im not a big spelling nazi, but I do appreciate some good articulation. A Mando squadleader has to be able to write and speak clearly. I really hate that IM gramar osik. Ive sent Ed some of these posts and he seems to be partial to the story style. I havent heard from Matt yet. I like them both really. Its going to be interesting to see what pops up between now and friday.

Thank you for the compliments! Morale can make the difference in a battle; I figured if I was pinned down by overwhelming enemy forces, hearing a rescue team crackle over the radio would pump me up.

Regardless of who wins this competition, I had fun. Maybe this could become a monthly event; one person proposes a scenario, and other users try to come up with the best solution.

    Re: Giving away some armor...

I plan on revising it, if it's ok.

Sure you can revise all you want and post again. Id suggest you revise yours. I know most of you my not be trained soldiers so Im not going to hold it against you too bad, but you might want to rethink the whole negotiator thing. Mando'ade dont negotiate, especially with a couple of companies moving on them, unless its with demo or shoulder launchers hehehe.

Feel free to post as many times as you want. Use it as an opportunity to improve your writing skills as well. Sentence structure will be taken into consideration.

You know, when I told my friends this scenario, I got to thinking that you are military.

Im a vet of 9 1/2 years, 8 of those as a sniper. I graduated Army sniper school in july of 99. Almost every callsign Ive had has been Star Wars related. My 4 man sniper squad (two 2 man teams) in Iraq were named after the Wraiths from the X-Wing series.

You guys are right, this has been fun. More so than I thought. I figured we like Mandos so much we may as well think like Mandos. Some of you have the marbles for it hehehe.

Here's a couple of pics of the grenade launcher/blaster rifle combo I was working on. It was a work in progress and I have a few pieces to put on before it goes out but I figure someone would maybe like to have it. Its just sitting on the workbench when a mando'ad out there could sport it. I dont know what you guys think but I thought it was looking kinda cool. I was inspired by my trusty 203 and the Brit SA80. The potential for serious close and mid range damage is there, and its comforable in a tight space which wouldnt be bad when clearing cramped shuttles. The versitility is there with the different ammo for the launcher (pretend of course). My buds and I will pick a top 2. The first choice will have a choice of the armor or the weapon. The second choice will get what is left over. Ill let you guys know who the top 2 are so maybe you guys can PM one another if you want to swap or who really wants what.
I might have extra stuff as well in the coming weeks and Ill do this again instead of selling. I have a $70 tactical chest harness Im probably going to let go that I was origionally going to use with my beskar'gam, but its evolving and Im not going to use it. I have enough tactical kit already not to have a need for it. Its a wheat color and has molle style webbing for full customization. Ill keep you guys posted.
This thing is going to end on friday at 7pm eastern time, that gives you westcoast Mando'ade until 4pm in case some of you are in school.

Ok, I'll revise as soon as I can get the time.

That gun is tight, if I'm one of hte top 2 (crosses fingers and prays heart out) I would want both prizes, so I'm not picky.

too true. how often does one hear about someone just giving things away? and that blaster is pretty sweet, though i need the armor a lot more.

That blaster/grenade launcher is awesome! Is that the final condition, or are you going to paint it before sending?

At the end of this contest, I was wondering if MandoSniper would be willing to give us his own solution to this scenario.

Thanks guys! Mando'ade have to stick together. Yeah I could probably get credits for this stuff but it wouldnt be fun. And I wouldnt be helping anyone out.
Im glad you guys like the weapon. I feel better now that I have something else to shell out.
Yeah sure, Ill give you guys my take on the scenario.

There are a few pieces I have cut that will go on it. Thats just a primer color and I will send it out in a primed color. I have to see what I have left. I might also have a Daisy red dot aimpoint to go with it thats also just taking up space, I just have to find it. The rest of the weathering and costomizing will go to the Mando'ad that gets it. make it your own, just dont forget where you got it.

I dont care who you use. You can use well knowns, you can use Mandos that frequent these threads (which would be cool), you can throw in Kal Skirata and his boys, I dont care. But keep in mind that the plan has to make some sense and just because you have a dreamteam doesnt mean that it will work. Use your imagination and some common sense, and even Mandos no one ever heard of can carry out a stunning victory.

Off Topic, I could probably come up with a tactic to win but since I already have the same armor I see no need to try. But Sniper, which part of the Army were you in? Regular Infantry, Rangers, Delta? And I do like the design of the gun, something about the body makes me think AK with a FAMAS butt.

    Re: Giving away some armor...

Oh screw it Ill take a stab at it. My squad would consist of 2 snipers, 2 heavy infantry (IE miniguns or an equivilent to a SAW), 2 Shock troopers, and a Tech Specialist also specialized in Demolitions. One of the snipers would be weilding a rifle with the power to penetrate vehicle hulls, the other would be situated with midrange sniping (M14 sniper but starwarsy) to pick off soldiers. I would be equipped with an Assault Carbine and Sniper Rifle myself, (with my custom's pack i can have both on my back at once), as well as my plasma revolver and auto-pistol. Tech would have a small carbine with shotgun capabilities, the Heavy Infantry would have their heavy firepower weapons as well as a carbine sidearm. The shock troopers would have rifles similar to DC15s or T21s.
I would commence the operation at a time of the night when it's darkest, I would use the dropship to fly up high and deploy us via HALO jump, at around 2000 feet above ground we would deploy glide packs, silent running winged packs similar to jet packs. The snipers, and myself, would identify and eliminate most threats. We would land on the roof and begin to blast our way in, using the tech specialist to slice our way deep into the building to get to the mando squad. Once the interior of the building is secure we would take positions around it, along with the rescued squad and fight back until it was safe enough for the drop ship to make a quick landing on the roof to evacuate us. By that time the heavy weapons and snipers would have cleared off most threats and vehicles.

    Re: Giving away some armor...

    I recruit:
    Boba Fett (ROTJ)
    Jango Fett (arena JP)
    Jodo Kast
    Jaster Mereel
    Zurath Kodul (me)
Best Mandalorian spy money can buy

    My plan would be:
Send the spy into the bunker to locate the trapped team, secure the area around them, and assure them that help is being sent. He would then stay near them until we arrive.
Go in under the cover of night with an EMP to scramble all of the opposing equipment and lace the ground with tripwire connected to explosives underground.
Slowly head to the bunker’s southern edge with weapons at the ready, having the other mando’s find the enemies in the bushes with their RFs and “remove” them with their gaunt darts.
As we continue to the southern edge of the bunker, we find traps laid for us. Simple plan for that, fly over them. Well, they fly, I force-jumped with what little ability I had left.
As we enter the complex, we get pinned down with fire from all sides. I say all sides because there were some guys that repelled down the building after we got in. Being pinned down and all, I contacted our inside man to see if the other team still had weapons. Lucky for us, they did. I gave the coordinates and with us firing from the front and them from the side, we had the Antarians pinned into the northwestern corner. Using all of the whipcord we could find, we bound them into one big pile and stuck a thermal detonator in the ropes.
Suffice to say, we hightailed it out of their as fast as we could, only stoping long enough to get into the dropship in a safe and orderly fashion.

Is there such a thing when running from a bomb?

As we left, we enjoyed watching the explosion destroy the temporary prison. The flying body and armor scraps was cool too.

Well, that's the best I can manage, considering how I was afraid to borrow anything from another story. I think my team did good.

    Re: Giving away some armor...

    i would have

2 mandalorian heavy infantry (2 heavy repeater blasters)

    3 jet troopers (grenade launchers)

1 sonub zon`tiro (me armed to the teeth)

    1 pilot (x2 wester 34 blasters)

first i would ask my pilot to land outside the perimetre me and the 3 jet troopers would make our own way on foot as the shuttle aproaches the engaged sector the heavy mandolorians would pile out blasting at every enemy in sight as we aproach we would fly above the building in a square formation bombarding the enemy so that we are giving covering fire for our pinned mandalorian comrads as the enemy retreats we would all pile in the shuttle

thats all i got but my mandalorian jet troopers are using you gun mandosniper

A little over an hour left. Looks like we're not going to get the conclusions to the story stye entries, and that too bad, they were interesting. Ill keep my fingers crossed. 7pm easter time is the cut off. Ill start judging and Ill post my take on the scenario as well as who the 2 pics are.

    Re: Giving away some armor...

I left the scenario open enough for individuals to create details not mentioned to make it harder or easier for your Mandos to carry out the rescue mission.

Pilot: Threader Kit/Gear: one Mandalmotors GT 27 light armored drop-ship
Sniper: Lonewolf_1183 Kit/Gear: Verpine sniper weapon system
Sniper: Darkfang Kit/Gear: Verpine sniper weapon system
Indirect fire expert: Boba Fett 03 Kit/Gear: Mobile mid range multi-round mortar system.
Entry team: Orther Rrith Kit/Gear: Prefered close quarter combat gear and custom slug launchers.
    Dak Jerek
    Ram Zerimar (myself)

Its sun down and looks to be a clear night. We assemble at the drop-ship 4 minutes after we receive word that Wraith squad got pinned in the air security bunker after destroying the active radar and anti aircraft system there. Its an 8 minute NAP (near as possible) of the terain ride to selected drop off point 1, a hill top 3 km southeast of the southeast corner of the bunker where the vode are trapped. On the ride there everyone helps Boba Fett 03 ready the mortar system with the full compliment of assorted rounds chosen for this mission. LoneWolf 1183 and Dark Fang stock up on 2 stage explosive armor piercing anti personel rounds, for a demoralizing effect on the buddies of their victims. Orthar and Dak double check their flamethrowers and weapons. I establish comms with Wraith squad leader to determine their current sitrep. They have one Mando’ad KIA, one serverly injured, and the rest of the squad intact with minor injuries and dealing with dehydration. They arent doing to bad because they created a bottleneck inside the bunker but in doing so sealed off the exit to buy time for a rescue effort. Even though they are heavily outnumbered only a few Antarians can attack through a small corridor at a time. Their filters are dealling with the chemical agents being used against them inside but will begin to fail if they stay there for a prolonged period of time. The wall is too thick for their demo to blast a hole through to the outside but their penetrating radar shows weakness in the floor leading to a corridor connecting to the bunkers hangar on the ground level. I tell them we will be in the AO (Area of Operations) in minutes and will be executing an extraction plan 7 minutes after the first volley.

Drop off point one. We help download and position the mortar system and drop off Boba Fett 03 on the hill top, this takes less than 60 seconds. While Boba fett 03 positions the tubes and plots and paints points for his precision barrages , the rest of us use our advanced optics to recce the bunker at high speeds from a few km away in a circular pattern, snipers using there verp optics to gather firing point, and target selection data. This takes less than 2 minutes. After snipers select there drop off points on opposite sides of the bunker north and south, I give Wraith Squad leader a heads up time to first volley.
Boba Fett 03 commences with a mixed volley of assorted silent travel rounds. First a barrage of HE anti personel rounds splash the roof, powerful enough to kill the unexpecting and make the survivors run into the cover of the bunker behind the bottle necked company inside, then a barrage of HE (High Explosive), Air burst, smoke, laser dissipating aerosol rounds (read JEDI TRIAL) to neutralize all energy weapons being carried by enemy forces, and smart rounds that will land on areas guided by the GPS pointing system in the snipers weapon systems to destroy enemies hiding under cover outside. Barrages repeating every 60 seconds, or on command.
While the first volley is going off LoneWolf 1183 is dropped off at sniper position 1 and begins to take out targets of opportunity. Still moving at high speed, Dark Fang is dropped at sniper postion 2 just seconds later, taking advantage of survivors fleeing LoneWolf 1183’s sniper fire to the cover of the opposite side of the bunker where they are exposed to Dark Fangs crosshairs.
At this time I tell Wraith squad to blow a hole in the floor after we breach the outer wall of the ground level and wait for relief. While the repeating barrages and the snipers keep what’s left of the Antarian company outside hunkered down with devastating accuracy, the pilot lets loose a proton torp and breaches the wall of the bunker. The drop ship settles next to the breach in the wall seconds after the debris lands. As the dust is settling Orthar leads the entry team in and they jet pack up to the next level to link up with Wraith squad, and the drop ship takes off to circle before the next incoming volley of destruction. The entry team links up with the Wraith squad and relieves the Mandos on the defensive line with fresh eyes, minds, and ammo. Dak lays down a constant stream of hell as Ram and Orthar deploy more laser dissipating aerosol down the corridor simultaneously the Wraiths police their dead and wounded and prepare for dust off. As the pounding outside ceases Ram and Orthar unleash a string of custom linked remote thermal dets. The sound of the drop-ship signals the squad to run for the breach and load up. As Dak, Orthar , and Ram are about to head down the hole in the floor to ground level, a wall to their rear shatters and an entry team of Antarians cut them off from the breach in the floor and the drop-ship, because Antarian Rangers (X-Wing series) really arent slouches. Dak aims on the Antarians attempting to clear the corridor and opens up, dropping the first two through the hole. Orthar takes a blast to the forhead, and Ram takes a few shots to the chest, but the blaster bolts are 70% weakened from the dissipating aerosol in the air and don’t do nearly the damage intended, their Mando armor reliably protecting them. Recovered, Dak, Orthar and Ram rip through the Antarians with precisely placed shots to the necks, shoulders, and other lightly armored areas of their uniforms. I notice cracks in the ceiling from the barrages on the roof and tell Dak and Orthar to use their jet pack rockets to bring the roof down on the heads of the attacker’s make shift doorway and create a way out fast. After the shockwave of the combined blast, the three of us jet up through the hole to the roof and detonate the charges behind us. The drop ship makes a last pass as the first rounds of the next barrage begin to impact and we jet to the ship as it leaves the AO. The barrage continues as the drop-ship retrieves the snipers in flight by jet pack jumps, and heads back to pick up Boba Fett 03 and the mortar. We then head to the most forward base at high speed to tend to the wounded . Without having to engage an enemy in mass.

I know plans never work out the way you want them to but this is Star Wars and was all really up to you. My way isn’t the right or the wrong way to go about it but it was fun. Just a way I thought it could be done in a short time given this situation which was left kind of open. The next time I do this it will be a bit more detailed but will still leave room for creativity. I hope you all had fun with this. I did, and Vor’e to everyone for writing.

    Re: Giving away some armor...

OK Mando'ade the results are back. It was a 3 way debate and it was close between 3 entrys. The top two entries were chosen for the detail and the use of some sort of combined arms techniques through use of indirect fires that helped to facilitate speed for the squad to move while outnumbered, and tricky Mando'ness. They were all good entries and were fun to read but we did have to pick 2 unfortunately. I hope you all did have fun with this though, I did. Ill have more stuff to give away and Ill do this again, I promise. Maybe one of you will get something next time. Thanks for participating in this little give away vode!

    1st. Boba Fett 03
    2nd. Dak Jerek

    Very honorable mention Andromalious!

It was too bad we didnt get the conclusions to TD5285 and Bountys Hunted's first entries. Ed really like those but was left with the flavor and nothing else. I have to say I was left curious also. Matt liked the harder plans. Good job vode. There will be other times so i hope you arent discouraged. Keep writing.

I agree that we should do this more often as an activity.
Btw, just curious, anyone interested in seeing a Star Wars fan-fic a friend and I are writing?
