girth belt question

I was wondering how to tell what size girth belt you should get I am a size 36 so i didnt know how much open space most people leave in the back like for example if you wear a 36 get a 32 or something like that. I'm hopeing to finaly get my gear done started in 2006 but time is a killer thanks to all ahead of time for your help.

Easiest way I can think of... wich I'm probably going to do for mine is to buy a cheap weight lifting belt and wrap it with pleather, leather, or cloth. It's the right size and it's meant to go around your gut/ hips so I figure that would be one of my top choices!

i would imagine in the boba and jango threads this has been convered thoroughly. i've had a couple girthbelts for my different customs. they were both homade using the same filler used in the brims of baseball caps and fabric. i've never used the actual girthbelts you can purchase from livestock stores. i've read that when dyed, they actually shrink. so, i would guess you'd actually need to purchase a belt a size or 2 larger than you would normally wear. plus, add in the fact it will go over a flightsuit, vest (depending on cut), cod plate, kidney plate (if you choose to wear one) and any belts you may use to secure those plate(s).

But they are not
The cross-stitching is Nylon and will not dye properly
