    Flak vest, and ammo pouches progress

    Finally got to work on some soft parts because I was off yesterday. The armor is progressing but you know how it is when you work on one thing too long and start to lose focus, so I began work on the vest , ammo belt w/ pouches and girth belt. I am thinking of attaching the kama to the girth belt.By the way.. thanx to BatNinja for the templates on the pouches. I made these from his tutorial, my balsa wood was slightly larger than listed on the tutorial so I had to mod them a bit , but I wanted to show some appreciation for those who spend their time trying to help the rest of us.THANX!

    I used the same material when i made my very first Fett ammo belt! (still have a ton left too!) Is it from Walmart? This is looking good!

    I eventually got a real leather belt... the material itself holds up but I found that it was a bit hard to glue down. I should probably have some sort of contact cement instead of craft glue. I have since given that belt away.

    more progress today, I now have 8 completed ammo pouches , 90% on the belt, I also cut out my kama and got some work done on the girth belt. It is getting pretty late now, so I'll get some pics up tomorrow

    i made my belt from the exact same material. and i made it from batninjas thread to...

    how did your velcro hold up to the weight of the belt?? just wondering

    I got the "industrial strength" velcro with the sticky back from walmart. It is 1.5 inches wide by 4 inches long,and I put two pieces back to back giving me 8 inches of velcro surface on each end. I stuck the velcro and also sewed it. I actually completed it last night, I'll try and get a couple pics up tonight.

    Yeah, in short I am working on this and a boba...I feel the need to send money to my grandfather monthly to help out with some expenses and I can't manage both builds anymore. Thanks for the many comments and compliments!
