First Attempt at a Mando

So, after hours of looking around and researching. At some point within the next decade, I'm going to make a custom mandolorian. Probably from scratch, with metal and other such products.

Now these pictures are just rough drafts. I know they suck so don't be mean. I didn't use very many references, and ...i haven't finished drawing his weapon yet. So you can understand these pictures, to avoid questioning, I'm aiming for a sniper. Thus he has the large should pauldron, and the larger knee cap on one side. The cloak I just like.

note: I have not finished detailing my paint design yet. Colors will be Crimson, black, silver, white,......weathering... maybe alittle gold. But I need to make a patter on him, so he's not just another Boba/Jango wannabe that's colored differently.

Hmmm.... I should have made the shin longer on the right side. Also the kukri is alittle big.... tone that down alittle....... ****... and where's the jet pack... :roll:

Outstanding artwork!! I like the design so far too. This will be a nice one to see come to life.

Like the design. I'm guessing that the large shoulder piece is to gaurd your face while sniping? Either way, you're a **** good artist.

Maybe some leg armor?

your design looks pretty cool. I think some leg armor would be a good idea. Maybe shins and thigh plates, maybe just shins

That last pic is really cool. I like the big shoulder armor poking through the cloak. It makes me think of the collar armor a jouster would have worn to protect his neck.

Agreed, some sort of integrated head protection. Good idea. I've been considering adding similar things to my armour design, to prevent being Jango'd... I agree though, leg armour is good. A few plates along the legs, as an extra precaution.

Please excuse the faded colors, my scanner is terrible. They look much better in person.

For me it'd be the last one. I like that one best.

Note, I did not want to color the weathering. That would take a long time and would be ridiculous. I do want to make a definitive blaster scar on the head, and two or three on the shoulder pauldron. If that gives you guys a better visual.

You gonna make your knees and shins one piece or two? IMHO with your design, a once piece rig might look really cool!

It's one piece. The knees are attached to the shins.

Liking the first design the best personally. Just like the look. But yeah, the shoulder pauldron should be dinged up a good bit I'd say, what with it protecting a sniper.

I'd say scheme #1 with cape from scheme #4 ... with a matte finish on the paint

I've gotten that alot. I did use the Halo rifle as a reference, but I changed enough of it to be my own model. the ammo clip is in a different spot, the scope is very different, and the gun's color is undecided.

Tal Greyheed. Although the white stripes on his dome slant away from each other. I don't know why, but I automatically knew who you were talking about. :b

I'm actually digging the last design. I really like the brown jumpsuit with the red and white armor.

I vote for option #3 since I think the chest plate markings are a cool set up and I haven't seen anyone with markings like that.

Oh my....... That's..... weird. Will do though. I'm still making more concept art and am going to post it soon. I switched the helmet from #1 with the helmet from #3. then making the Silver lining, white.

But ****..... I feel like I stole your idea now.... poo.
