Finally starting

New Hunter
Well I'm finally getting started on my armor. Giving the trash can method a go because it's within my budget atm. I have just the collar left to cut and I have a ton of cleanup work to do. I have coffee hands and can't keep them completely still if my life depended on it.

Anyway I plan on having everything cut and painted by the end of the weekend. Decided to give the Jodo Kast Decipher colors a try as they are pretty unique, yet totally unmistakable. Should have the helmet sometime early next week, so I should be able to start working on that right as I finish the armor. Will post more pics as I progress.

Hey,

I have been scrounging for info on the alt Jodo armor and any extra information there is and seeing as how you all are the experts on I was wondering about any ideas you may have about the differences between the costumes.

for instance the Decipher version has his armor and the flightsuit looking pretty clean as opposed to the normal wear and tear on the TEOD version. I am in the process of painting my armor and have decided that it's would be silly to assume that there's no visible damage at all, however if he did switch he may not have had a ton of work.

As the refrence the picture doesn't help someone building the costume, but I'm taking for granted that the belt, tools and the girth belt are the same seeing as how the cape didn't change. I'm also gonig with the grenades and the bombs on the holster also. the EST blaster is a change, but that's easy enough to handle as I already have a MR one on the mantle to begin with.

Any help would be appriciated, as this is my first go at costuming on my own.

Thanks
Jason

Got the armor painted today The colors I found at Michaels worked out just right, although I think I worried people talking to myself the entire time. I just need to add the chest symbol and I'm ready for the helmet which I missed by an hour or so and I couldn't get back out to the post office in time to pick it up, so I'll have to wait until Monday, but by then I should have things set.

Here's the only pics I have atm, it's from my phone so the quality probably sucks, working on getting my digital camera working again.

nothing wrong with talking to your self, now if you argue with yourself, that's a problem.

By the way, nice armor. ;) Just need to get the curve in it, it looks very flat.
What kind of can's did you use?

I used two sterelite trash cans like everyone else has sugested. the only real flat parts are the two chest peices, the stomach armor has a slight curve in it. it's not huge, but then again I was using my cell for the pictures.

I've been using a box cutter from my job. I get the pattern on the can anc cut around it then do the line work with the same cutter. if you score the plastic deeply enough it will snap off, and it's really not that hard with a bit of elbow grease
