And of course, let's not forget how GREAT armor is at stopping blaster bolts anyway....I'm sure all the TKs we thought "died" in the movies were just wounded. And knocked down. And unable to move. Yeah, that's it...

Yes, but they weren't wearing beskar, now, were they?

Guys, guys...wipe your hormones outta yer eyes...prtygrrrl posted an image of how her armor design will look, but not necessarily on her body, whatever she may look like...you don't wanna scare her away from the forum, thinkin' you're all just a bunch of hornee guys....

(yeah..it's spelled wrong so the filter would miss it...;))

I like your initial concept design. I'm going to agree with Novall that a few minor tweaks would improve the overall appearance and "functionality", if you will. I would raise the upper outside corners of the breastplates to just barely cover the clavicle and taper them in a V toward the sternum. I would also lower and slightly widen the bottom part of the breast armor to cover most of the ribs. I'm mixed on whether or not to cover the inverted V that points up toward the diaphragm from the stomach, but I'm leaning towards covering it; but just the gap between lower ribs and diaphragm so that the midriff is still open. If you choose to leave the inverted V open, I would probably tailor the undershirt to the armor shape and go ahead and expose the upper belly as well. The thighs look good exposed, just throw on some shin guards and forearm guards along with some armored gloves with open fingers. I also like your initial choice to not use neck armor and leave the neck exposed. Just my 2 cents, it's your armor and I think it looks great. Keep us posted on the develpments. (y)

wow i love it...kinda like a cross between leeloo and a mando!!! AWSOME!

novall sed a lot of good idea's i cant really think of anything to add or take away from what he said

I definitely agree that you're gonna want the hem of the shirt to follow the same shape as the bottom of the chest plates. I'd like to see the center "diamond" plate a little larger, it looks tiny!

The pic is just what I have so far, I will have a belly piece. It will have an upper and lower. The upper is pretty much the same as boba's, but with a chevron shape on the bottom edge. The lower piece will have a matching shape at the top, and a curved bottom edge to match the codpiece. I will show pics, when I get to it. I have been a bit busy with other things.

And yes, it will be practical. Historically many cultures and soldiers trade off protection for dexterity. Just look at gladiator armor. You protect what is most likely to get hit, and leave freedom of motion for the rest. How many of you can even sit down wearing a full suit of armor?

That's the end of my rant. :p thanks for the comments.

Here is what I meant about the belly plates.

I am thinking about doing something for the upper arms as well. idunno

This is just me, but I wouldn't necessarily use a Fett helmet for the Female Mandalorian. I'd go for a variant that has a narrower head, and one that reinforces the unique armor design and its femininity.

Here's a rough concept:

dude nice concept pic of the helmet

Your armor mi lady is interesting. I like the two piece stomach plates. i too plan to use such idea. seems it will give better movement of the torso.
Word of warning, watch out for "baseball" chest armor. I think people know what i am getting at. Are you going to plaster cast your chest and take a mold for the top armor or.. wing it.
If your winging it may i suggest stopping by or looking up Fencing supply stores (like foils and rapier stuff). they have chest protection for ladies and it looks good for armor. Practical too

agreed. The chest armor plates that go up to kinda make it look like a Catcher's chest protector.

Very nice helmet concept as well CSMacLaren. Love the sleek-ness of it. Not so hot on the rangefinder cap though looks a little too distant, maybe too alien. Nevertheless good to see another Mando in San Jose! I live in SJ as well!

The only thing about the centre diamond on women is that it depends on how big your chest is and what shape it is. Some ladies don't have an awful lot of room between their breasts.

Another idea is to find out who makes those Femme Trooper chest armor and use that as a base for modification. I like the one to the right in this following photo:

If you simply paint it up, people might not notice what it is. The Femme Trooper armor in of itself is a unique design. Using a cutting wheel you can probably create the split down the center and separate it into three pieces.

If I build your theme to this armor, this is what I come up with.

Of course, this is your idea to begin with, so please feel free to be creative.
