Feedback needed for new variant

An innovative approach ner vod. Kandosii

It may be buy design, in which case I apologise but unless your legs are crossed over at your hips; your knees are on the wrong way around. Is that digital camouflage you are wearing with it?

Ahh I see now why it looks strange to me, Theres no collar armour, so you made the plates a lot bigger.

Id work in a collar piece and shrink the armour down. But now were talking personal preference and not review. Review wise you did a killer job.

After reading this, had a pretty nifty idea for your vest when your ready to upgrade...extend your chest plates up to cover your collar. Just that top outside corner, have it go up a bit to cover the collar area. That should give give the collar look to the armor, and not mean having to put in an extra piece.

I'm typically not into custom Mandolorians, but I admit this one is pretty sweet! (y)

I like everything except for the cammie. Don't get me wrong, the US Army digital camo is sweet, but it doesn't look right with the Mando gear. I would try something else.

Wow very nice idea Looks good. Sewn in armor cool. maybe dirty them up a lil show a lil battle damage to the chest silver peekin thru. , Only thing I would change is the camo. Maybe a solid jump suit.. Nice job very well done...

Update pics..

Hey Everyone,

Many thanks for the feedback. I actually went through each post and was taking notes on ideas and improvements. A few things that did not make my original posting:

My first flightsuit was olive-drab (to continue the WWII theme), but that made the vest practically indistinguishable from the flightsuit underneath. The two just sort of melded together. I picked up the digital camo this past weekend to add a little contrast. I have not even put the double-sleeves on it yet. I'm thinking about switching to a gray or tan flightsuit.

I was going to cover the external armor with the same color fabric of the vest, unfortunately I couldn't find matching fabric. I also tried putting the thigh armor beneath the cloth of the olive-drab flightsuit---resulting in the armor becoming virtually invisible. The shoulder bells are a recent addition. Military flak jackets are sleeveless, so I may discard these altogether.

I love the idea of a damaged vest with bits of exposed armor peeking through. This will have to be my next step.

Thanks again everyone for the ideas (the kudos are much appreciated too). Now that I have a digital camera I'll record the stages and post as progress (and problems) occur.

All the best,

Coda

Don't forget that some of the older US flak jackets as well as the german ones had those parts that resembled should pads and the current trend of shoulder armor like the ones for LE and Interceptor vests.

Really like the flak vest look! It all looks great. Very original and fresh take on the armor that is usually just re-colored and/or re-marked. Thanks for sharing.

Hey nice looking Mando you have there Di-Than Coda. I may not have been around for a while, but it's nice to pop back and find a great looking set up.;)

Also love the vest, should you put some Armour on that baby its gonna rock, and I love the Helmet also.... top job...
