A Different Kind of Custom Mandalorian Board...

I have a question as to which armor base you are going to go with.

It is an on-screen fact that every piece of Jango's armor is a different shape from the corresponding piece of Boba's suit and even that Boba's isn't even actually a REAL mandalorian set to begin with (EU). Does this mean this mean that you will only accept armor that is like that of Jango's because I'd be completely behind this decision if it is indeed the case because it is a logical in-universe reason for the two suits to be different and is the arguement I'd make if I decide to do a custom.

Both Boba and Jango styles are acceptable as far as I am aware.
from HHS club requirements:
• Headhunter Squad is for Modern Era Mandalorian costumes only. Other eras will not be considered at this time.
• Mixing eras (EG Modern helmet with Legacy chest armor) will not be considered at this time.
• (Helmet) Must have two earpieces that are a reasonable match to visual reference. Rangefinders are not required.
• M-DSB “Mercenary”, Gypsyboy, Sgt. Fang, Bobamaker, Saz, Asok, etc. are all examples of acceptable non-screen used helmet manufacturers. All other helmets will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

the full Guidelines can be found here: Costume Requirements

That said please take a look, the next registration period is coming up fast.
When exactly in February registration opens is up to wiser heads than mine.

Hm, I guess now it makes sense.
Maybe someone who is oh, I don't know... OUT OF THEIR MIND... might want a regular durasteel set.
Maybe they think their so tough, they won't need the extra stinkin' protection that real Mando Iron would provide. :)

The only thing about the group I don't entirely agree with is the limited membership. Since you guys say that members rarely join due to the lack of quality costumes for custom mandos, I think you guys would want to welcome one as soon as they want to join up.

*sighs* there are four months in the year that registration is open... in between each open period is a period of 2 months when we get used to each other.
The idea is to facilitate a good exchange of knowledge and raise the bar for custom Mandos.
limited registration times means that every current member is aware of who the newer members are.
It makes it easy to weed out the Lurkers, Trolls and signups who don't fit in and/or don't want to fit in.
Then spend the next 2 months or so working with those who don't waste everyone else's time.

Keep in mind that in HHS all members are equal, cutting honesty is the tone as often as not.
If you come on there and decide to not strive for the higher standard we all strive for ... expect to be thanked for your time and shown the door.
Posting a Build thread and Introduction is mandatory! we are not a trooping club we are a BUILDING club.
Lurkers (readers only) have other venues open to them, like Mercs or here.

Unlike other clubs we are not concerned over membership numbers but the quality of the members we do retain.
Quality over Quantity is a fair summation of HHS, in my opinion.

While we are on Opinions... the entire post is my Opinion as an HHS Forum Member.
I in no way, form or Fashion speak for the Exemplary Members or Admins.

And yet, you said exactly what I would have said, as the Administrator. Good job.
To reiterate, we're more interested in building a close community than a large community. We insist that we post and use real first names when communicating, so we can foster a more human connection.
Also, we are about to cut out a few members from the first open registration who aren't doing their part within the community. If anyone would like to take their place, send me a PM. I believe we'll have three open spots.

New enrollment is now begining. This period will be open to 02-15-11 (That's a Tuesday). We will be taking ten members this period.

Guys, you might want to make a ruling on my Krayt and Celtic buckets, there are a few out there and, even though their basis is the standard helmet, they may not be to your conventions.

As for those who seem to have a problem with this group, basically, don't join. Obviously these guys want to acheive something to their standards of quality, that is their right and if you agree with their policies, join up and gain benefit. If not, don't. There's no point in arguing with them about their club, it's their club and their rules :)

I think high standards are a good thing, we all aim for them with are Fetts, why not for other Mandalorian costumes. The problem is for every good Mandalorian you see, there are maybe 10 bad ones.

You will probably hear back sometime today. I know a few others have already been added in the last couple of days too.

Oh, and if you don't get your approval let me know. We've had a rash of spambots the last few days and I've been cleaning house. So if I have inadvertently denied you drop me a PM.

Thanks for bringing those up Saz. As far as I can recall the conversation, I think we decided that both those buckets were considered the same as your standard lid (of which we have a couple board members who use them).

We have as of right now 30 members and we're proud to have all of them.

sounds interesting not sure if my custom Mando would qualify or not. my Blasters may be what keeps me from making it in but here is a link to my flicker page Edzew's Armor - a set on Flickr i have more photos i need to take and upload of finished things and in progress stuff also need to take pics of other armor bits that i haven't uploaded yet. i also don't have a pic of me in all my armor. B^(

a friendly reminder... registrations are still open, roughly 9 slots left.
sign up, take a look around, if you don't like it or don't think you'll fit in we will gladly refund the non-existent sign-up, registration and membership fees.
(refunds will be paid out in kit and in monopoly cash)

Registration has been extended as we has a couple more spots open due to non-activity. We are a "Lurker Free" zone, and encourage everyone to be a contributing member of the forum. Even if You're not quite ready to start yet (We're all waiting on those tax refunds it seems...), or you're already completed, go ahead and sign up and join the conversation. Lend your knowlage to those who are in progress.

Thanks to everyone!

Been a while! We are still around, and have been busy. It's trooping season again, so we're of course out and about with the organizations that do such things. We've had a lot of very positive responses from people who have seen the kits honed on HHS. It's been great so far, and we're pleased with the all the participation. If you're looking for a place where you can get one-on-one help or a group opinion...we may be for you.

Thanks again to everyone! Stay busy building!

This is great for the elite few.. Someone Like myself that is new to costuming might not be ready to just jump in get booted. But I do feel that creativity within the realm is a great Idea. Maybe once I get started I will apply..
