Thanks ioelus that actually did help.
Heres a reworked helm, with a rebreather type.
As im thinking about this, I came up with a couple of ideas.
1. Why not make helmet kits. Ones with interchangable parts. I mean, you should be able to only get the parts you need. And if there were multiple sets of ears, mandibles, ridges, etc, wouldnt that be nice
You could pick the jaster ears. The TK keyholes. The TK eye slits. Vent holes (and place where you want them and run the tubes.
2. As Mojo said, what about hose fittings and rebreathers that are actually removable. I mean, (and i realize this isnt real. Re-breathers. Filters. Heavy weapons systems, should be able to be 'fit' to the helmet, and removed when not needed.
In this picture, you can see the tube interface. And theres some pictures with the breather on and off.
Im not crazy about the rebreather, I just added some greebles to make it interesting.
I like this helmet shape though, and I started the scratch build on it tonight. Once I get the base helmet set up, ill take some pictures and go from there.
Im going to try to get the base helmet hashed out this weekend, and some of the custom pieces added/sculpted in, and ill get a pic of something tangible up. I have to decide if I want to build up with plastic, then use a coat of filler to smooth it out, or sculpt all the add ons.
To do a project like this _right_ I think you need a very wide toolst. You need a nice sturdy resin or fiberglass helm. Resin pieces for fittings and vac formed pieces for some of the larger stuff. Like the re-breather fittings and the TK rear helmet bubbles.
Thoughts?
Again, thanks for reading.
