i know what you mean. One project is enough to keep you occupied . Once i have the current version of my Fett done, i need to turn all my attention to my wookiee costume (i started it but Fett takes priority). Then i need to make Kathys mando. I want to give it a really feminine feel with lots of 'fine denier' panels over it. I think this will then give the armour a much more hard and worn look.

anyway Fett is calling . The Norwich club asked if i were going on Friday night (even though i have not renewed my membership), the trouble is all my costume is in roughly the same shape as Dan's at the moment (ie in bits being repainted and upgraded).

Hopefully see you again soon though

Just some extra colour experiments on the black and gold idea, tell me what you think... the second pic is actually dark purple on the armour....not blue as it looks

    Zoe,

I really like the one w/ the nice deep purple. The smaller details are coming along nicely too. The wrapped parts on the arms and waist are an excellent touch. Also, the chains that drape down I've liked all along. I wonder how it would look w/ a bit more gold added back in. Just a little. Maybe on the mandibles of the helmet to reclaim some of that 2-tone look?

That looks really great! I've just started working on a female mando armor myself and i'm very encouraged with what you've came up with. I was looking at doing either one in camo or a black and gold one.. wow. Those look great! It seems a lot harder for women to stay women in the costuming world without looking too...hmm..what's the word..i guess without having to look like a hooker. You've done a great job keeping your costume respectful and sexy at the same time! Good job.. can't wait to see your finished product!!

K - this is just constructive criticism but...

Why the need to "Paris Hilton" it up so much?

I mean - don't get me wrong - sexy is good. Mandalorian women can/should be sexy. I would think they would be anyway. Warrior women usually are intriguing as a rule if not just drop dead HOT by nature.
Anyway - believe me - I'm the phtographer and organizer in charge of putting together a calendar of sportbike riding women for charity and the theme is "sexy - not slutty" - so I understand how good sexy can be. But...

But I'd just on instinct think they'd be TOUGH sexy. Like... I don't know...
Romulan-esque ruthless sexy with a hint of Klingon TEAR YOUR ESPOHPHOGUS OUT if you make them mad sexy... but sort of Starship Troopers movie/Dizzy Flores looking hot in armor ora sports bra able to watch your back but still able to KICK YOUR BUTT tough sexy... but with that little glimmer of "oh believe me - I'm more woman than you can handle" sexy too.

Like you would be scared of them... but turned on by them at the same time. That can easily be done without showing midrift or body-glove type materials to accentuate the female form.

I'm just thinking... Mandalorians are Mandalorians. If the women are warriors too - you'd tend to think they'd be just as conscious of their armor/armaments as the men.

I guess I'm thinking more like ... Tusken Raiders / Tusken women. Different - but similar really.

Just free style thought. Disregard as you see fit.

I take everything onboard as it all helps with the design process, not to happy bout the paris hilton bit tho....it aint that bad is it (i mean I doubt you would see this mando with a little dog under her arm... )

I just think that a mando female would fight just as well as a bloke, but im sure they would still want some personal touches to the armour... its not like im thinknig of blinging it up loads with gold chains or big gems, the gold isnt there as a status thing..or as bling...just a colour scheme that I thought looked different...and many mandos have capes around thier waists...just bacl and gold didnt look right so its been made purple...im not saying that I dont take critisism well....im just trying to defend my ideas/unicorn princess' inputs...

Hey, the S&W P99! That's the Bond gun! Ok not the first Bond gun, but it's been used since "Tormorrow Never Dies". The Walther PPK was the one before that, but the first was a Beretta, but I can't remember what model. It was only on screen for the first part of "Doctor No" I think.

I would suggest taking the red dot sight and the silencer off, but the light and the rail system is fine. If you do want a long barrel like Jango's Westars, then keep the silencers but I would suggest making them more sturdy. Those airsoft silencers are probably flimsy plastic; easily breakable.

I personally don't think their's anything wrong with your idea. I think women are naturally more comfortable in tighter fitting clothing then men are, and really thats what it boils down to: what's comfortable for you. You are the one who will be seen in it, and it's a representation of your imagination and creativity.

Those guns are nice. Airsoft guns are the way to go.

Callista - don't get me wrong - I'm not suggesting in any way you be disuaded from your creativity.

I'm just looking at the pictures thinking that its too... I don't know how to put it - UNDER-armored. The plunging neck line is a VERY feminine thing in many / most cultures to highlight the neck line and - well - cleavage... but therein - as a warrior species - you'd tend to think they'd protect that just as much if not moreso. Perhaps a "formed" neck piece area - in line with like a corset design with attached armor. I'm thinking of something very "Ameilia" from Underworld with the neck piece. I know it was jewelry - but think of how kick butt that'd look integrated into armoring.

***Nevermind - apparently the Euro-sites don't like linking. Just Google Image Search "Amelia Underworld" and you'll see what I'm talking about***

Again... just free-styling. DEFINATELY not trying to disuade.

    Sorry...
With the shoulder bells it'd need to be more a bodice than a corset wouldn't it? You need shoulder straps/sleeves to attach bells to.

Why not put a rectangularish patch of armor between the sholders and the plunging neck line? That way you still have the armored look up top?

You can get those on eBay for cheap. Just look up "P99 airsoft" or "pistol airsoft" Those are probably just spring loaded, but they have some cheap electic version.

i see what grendel is saying, armor is well armor and made to protect the wearer, although you can still have a feminine suit of armor with out having a plunging neckline n such. I also find the highheel boots a bit odd but a custom is a custom.i just find to drawing a little under-armoured,

ps. i think the second armor color scheme is cool but a dark purple for the flak skirt would look more uniform

    pps. cool guns

i didnt have neck armour cos it annoys me so much with my fett, I find it very uncomfortable so just left it out. I wouldnt have high heels, thats just how the figures were, and so looked better if I just put heels on. Im pretty tall so I would prob fall over if I had some!!

This is where I found the guns http://www.doropaintball.com/AB10381...xd.asp?id=9451

I just thought they looked cool, I cant remeber seeing them in bond..I will have to watch again...hope its goldeneye..Ive got thet one.

I havent even started this project appart from on paper....ive started antoher project in the meanwhile which will hopefully require less armour....

    Thanks for your comments though!!

I've been skimming this thread and don't think that I caught what kind of undersuit that you'll be wearing. My wife is working on Fem Tie Pilot and is uig a sit that was made to her specs from China. If you search Ebay for "zentai", you'll find people who make non-shiny lycra catsuits.

I'm not as up on my Bond trivia as other genres of movies - but - I believe "Tomorrow Never Dies" is the first time Bond uses the Walther P99 - not Goldeneye - mainly because the P99 didn't exist when Goldeneye came out. It was in still in development during Goldeneye's production.

Nice work on the design there, i can't help but notice that it is very similar to my WIP thread of mine thats been going for months with a near identical colour scheme in it. I did put a fair amount of effort into something that i thought had not been done/done well before, and i guess i'm just kind of annoyed to see it before mine is even finished.

Yeah, I noticed that also. Does seem kinda strange that the colour scheme/design is quite as similar as it is.

    Just to compare:
