heres my beginging armomr of my costum mandolorian. how is it?
and heres wht im hoping itll look like at the end this is a scketch of wht i hope that itll look like
Looks good, what colours are you thinking of doing it?
You should join us on HV&M THE home for custom Mandos. Click my banner for a link.
like black red and im not sure of wht other colors im still thinking wht do u have in mind?
Nice to see a fellow custom. Welcome.
i was thinking for something on the back i was thinking of strapping a force pike to my back for a second weapon is that a good idea?
By force pike you mean the weapon of Jabbas Gormerean Guard or one of these:

ya or the ones that the royal gaurds have. is that a good idea though
and wht would be a good clothing color for black armor? or wht color armor would be good on black fabric clothing. sry about all these questions im just having trouble desiding
I wear black armour, my flightsuit is ESB Fett grey. White or light grey would work too.
A Black flightsuit would go with almost any colour armour, red, green, white, light grey, silver. I'd steer clear of black on black though, as you'd never see it and it's too close to Vader.
My weapon IS a Emperors Royal Guard weapon from the Crimson Empire series, it's a Force Glaive (a vibro-weapon like the Force Pike)
A black military flighsuit would work, but could be hard to find. You could use a work overall and modify it. Alternatively BM makes Boba flightsuits and if you asked him would make it any colour you want.
I used the same Jumpsuit on my custom mando, which is black pilot jumpsuit, the one I use for scout.
I've still got some blue short-sleeved jumpsuits lying around.
looks pretty cool. are you going to be making a jet pack to go with it? if not, may i suggest some kind of detail on the backplate, similar to stormtrooper or clonetroopers?
YES i would love a suggestion do tell, im not going to make a jet pack so can u tell me ur design PLZ?

wht was thats design u wanted to show me im curious and i would really like to know
Digital509 is suggesting backplate detail, anything really that breaks up the smoothness of the backplate. You may want to consider making it look like you could fit a jet pack to it but choose not to, so pipes, connectors anything sci-fi looking. Of course, if you chose to wear a cape with it then you don't need to go into much if any detail. The advantage with doing a custom is ANYTHING goes!

Just some detail on the back. Look at the stormtrooper backplate below. Any detail at all should be a nice addition. You don't necessarily need an explanation of what it is supposed to be. Just let your imagination go to town.
Alrighty thanks for telling me, guys ur a big help thanks a bunch im going to be asking more stuff as i go along if thats okay
hey how do i join the custom mando site dose it cost anything?
No it doesn't cost a thing! Just click on my banner below, then click on register an account and your on your way.
Im using a thiner sentra is that a bad thing i hope not cause ive been working on this for a while?
It looks like the edges of your armor could use some smoothing out. Take some sandpaper and smooth the sharp edges so you don't cut yourself on that collar.
Cool I like the idea. Customs rock! I like the design very cool.![]()

remember, you can always strengthen it with fiberglass.Originally Posted by shade_99

you'll probably want to look into some fiberglassing tutorial sites. fiberglassing isn't something you want to just jump into, but it's not really hard either. It's messy, and it's potentially hazardous to your health. that said, basically.. you can use a cheap disposable brush and "paint" the fiberglass resin onto the back of your armor pieces, then you can reinforce the resin with the fiberglass matt pieces. but like i said, look into some fiberglassing sites before you take that on.
but if i dont do that do u thinkmy stuff will stay together cause i want to make it stronger but i dont want to mess it up
You do NOT NEED to fiberglass your armour as sintra is more than strong enough on its own. As IceDevil pointed out, you ought to sand off the edges of your armour though, as this will make it more comfortable when you wear it.
i have an idea for colors. how about Black, red, orange, and yellow?
oh yeah and for the flak vest. maybe copy a pattern of one of your t-shirts. dont copy the armholes, instead draw a template for it with your shoulder armor.
You t-shirt pattern.
wht should i use for material for the flack vest?

Yeah, I didn't mean he HAD to fiberglass, I thought he was wanting it to look a little thicker and heavier. Sintra is definately strong enough on its own.Originally Posted by OrtharRrith

green trim? I can tell that is a Jango helmet though
thought it was one of those color bond strips or something. I forgot what they're called.
Your custom is comming along great keep it up!
Shade 99
You have impressive work. Keep it up buddy!
r some of u guys going to com to the sience fiction convention in agust 11-13?
That's the two piece Jango helmet, isn't it? Before you start painting you may want to bondo and sand the gaps along with sanding the rest of the helmet so the paint will stick. I forget what type of material that helmet is but if it's vinyl then you do not want to use any paint which has "Acetones" or "Acetates". I heard on vinyl acetones just jack it up and melt it.Originally Posted by shade_99
I think it's a PVC plastic helmet though, right?
I was wondering do i have to have a mando skull onmy shoulder bell cause its the mandolorian symbol but i already made a symbol ill show u this after noon.
this is my armor right now how is it is ig odd or really bad?
looks good so far, keep it up.
can u guys give me some of your opinions i like to see wht everyone says?
Looks good. Love the "Orc"-ish helmet paintjob.
It looks messy, but thats how a mando's armor is supposed to look like, right?
Great job, looks like ur custom mando's coming along nicely.
I like the color scheme for the helmet too. Can you get a sharper image?
It looks like your Mando has been to hell and back! Looks good so far, can't wait to see what it looks like when you're wearing it.
With a custom mando, there really is no good or bad. It is all in the opinion of the eye of the creator. If that makes any sense. I mean, this is YOUR imagination, so we cannot really tell you how well it hold to what you were imagining. In my opinion, it looks good for a custom mando. I REALLY like the paint scheme on the helmet. That's pretty rad.
The custom colors and design are looking good. I agree that it looks really damaged, I like it! One sugestion is to matte finish it to cut down on some of the shine, and give it added reality. Keep the progress pic coming.

how can i make my own flack vest a red one? can u guys help me with this?
like i said earlier, follow ur t-shirt pattern! look at where the lines are sewn at. divide the parts out. as for the fabric, u can use red vinal (don't know if there even is some), or use nylon.Originally Posted by shade_99

my u have a lot of questions!ah, but everyone does these days. i read somewhere that u can take a piece of leather and wrap it around your blaster. try making it a somewhat hexagon like shape.

heres my rifle before painting does this look cool im just feeling like it doesnt look like a star wars rifle can u guys give me your advice and comments i really need to know if it looks good or not. thanks alot
this is all looking really good! If mine looks half as good i will be super happy!
i took the other gun apart and i did this is this a good star wars rifle? give your comments and advice plz and thank u?
What kind of helmet are you using? Rubies, Don Post...?
It looks like the Rubies Jango Fett helmet, the single piece one mind you.Originally Posted by Boba_Fett_03

Those look good! now you should make some sort of holster.
maybe you could like wrap some vinyl around the gun and like support with cardboard or something. You should sling the larger one over back if you dont have a jet pack.
Maybe you could make a card board one then wrap it with vinyl. I dunno, somthing along those lines.
looks ok so far![]()
1 tip, blood stains turn dark red... then brown when they drie up, because of the iron in the blood it actually starts looking like a brown rust color.
that's all I have so far...
and maybe the question why this thread is here and not in the sarlacc... I mean it's custon, not Boba.
keep going bud!!
Does it even look like real metal like does my armor look real?
yeah, id say it looks real, now you gotta attach it to the vest.
wow, old thread here, good to have you on the forums Garrett
Your doing great dude! I love yur armor, keep up the fantastic work!
Fantastic armor...but does anyone else realize this is a year old

Garrett, you are actually able to place more than one sentence in a single post. I'm doing it right now as we keep this old thread alive.
Edit: yeah, what Cylrul said, we were posting at the same time I guess.
Since this post is a year old, I'd like to know if it's finished yet. And if it is, what's the finished mando look like?
