Custom mando ideas... bounce some ideas off me?

Hey guys,

I am still working on my Daft Punk helmet, trying to finish that by halloween... school has been kicking my butt as of late.

However, with Skupilkinson's pepakura template files, I'm realizing building a custom could be easier than ever at this point... so I kinda wanna do that.

I have a general idea in my head, but I have not been able to put it down onto paper yet in the form of a drawing or whatnot...

But I am considering orange / white / silver for color scheme. Does anyone know if there are any orange / white detail / silver base painted mandos out there, or any white / orange detail / silver base ones?

What I mean by "detail" is... well, the armor and such. The main color (coming first in those three) would be for softparts and such -- jumpsuit, flakvest, etc. Detail would be armor pieces... Silver would be a silver base coat which would show through with scratches and dings.

I have always been impressed with Hydra and Jax's custom mando projects, as well as those who have built mandos using Hydra's concepts.

Opinions? Ideas?

There were WoF templates before I came along buddy. ;) In fact, I'd recommend his helmet templates over mine anyday. :)

Oh, trust me, I definitely know. I'm not new here... and I've attempted putting together one of his before and then just kinda... fell behind on it. I will probably hybridize the helmet -- your dome (as pep could be easier for that) with his main sections...

Definitely considering making it out of sheet metal, too. The armor, that is, not the helm.

And you, thank you for the link. Hmm... interesting. I guess I might have to draw some things up, huh?

I really, really love Orange. It's my favorite color... and my Spartan is partly the inspiration to go ahead and make my custom Mando. Cuz I want to have a mando costume in that same vein.

Skup -- I've said it once before, and I'll say it again, thank you so much for the work you put into your pep files. Hopefully my last post in this thread didn't come off as like, holier than thou with my comment about not being new... Sorry.

And yes, we all would be a lot worse off if WoF had never brought his immense skills to the community.

Besides he and you, there're tons of others I look up to here... and wish I could be as good as. Alas, being 22 and somewhat poor due to college... doesn't provide for much costuming opportunities.

Don't sweat it buddy. I assume every member here knows about Alans work. Though I get a little uncomfortable when people praise my stuff when Alan was here first. I don't want it to look like I'm trying to better what he's already done. That's why I always make a point of mentioning his work. ;) He deserves MUCH credit. :)

Good luck with your project buddy! Post lots of pics!! :D
