What type of colour purple are you looking for Cam?

Can you pantone it? If yso a print out of the colour and asking one of those old guys behind the counter might help

What do u guys use for the silver/metal color? I kinda need that.

Silver or Chrome spray paint over primer.

There are plenty of rattlecans that have metallic paints nowadays, just find the car with the silver you like the most and find the rattlecan of the colour for that particular car

Automotive paints really need to be baked on for the full effect.

very true, I put my armor infront of an electric space heater and 'cook' it a little and it seems to work well.

Think a hair dryer would work? I'm obsessed with mine.

Yeah I think that'd be okay on low, maybe with a diffuser so it spreads evenly. I just use one of those walmart special's, a little space heater thats about 1100watts.

I paint then set it infront of the heater and run it on low for like 15 minutes then rotate and run for another 15 and BAM nice and hard.

You could add flexabilizer (?SP) to the paint to make it flexable so it shouldnt chip off if the armor flexes.

This is kinda a stupid question to ask at this point but for the armor actual color should I use gloss or non-gloss?

Personal tastes I think... My black one is battle damaged matte, but my white one is glossy, and my kids armor is glossy, but I think eggshell or simi-gloss is good.

It's up to you, you can go gloss at first, and if it isn't working, you can hit it with 1000grit and flatten it out a bit.

Matte is the best if you want it to look functional and dangerous, and like adonian said egshell, semi, or even a satin looks great for a bit of a less tactical look...

I'm cuttin out my leg templates today and I have come across some movement issues with my feminine form. I've decided to shave off (cut) some of the armor on the chest and shoulder so I can move easier.

I cut out some new templates on paper:

Then I doodled with crayons for concept...

Oh yeah, tonight was (SIMI)Uneventful.. the same patient has new meds, but is still hearing the voices, and is quite threatening... I'm 5'11" 280LBS, BUT HE STILL SCARES ME, he was talking about how if God tells him to hit me he would. He had me in a corner alone, so I just told him that "well atleast God likes us don't he" he backed away enough for me to lock my butt into the med room He got two needles in the shebs for that one.
Anyway girl, you gotta get those boots, the price is right, and like you said you can use them for 'other' things too.

Well, the boots arent in stock. Niether are the buckle ones... I'll have to do more searching then...

hate to say try ebay for the boots, oh wait I just said it didn' I. I've seen them there for like $30.00 shipped.

I found some white painters pants from dickie's I thought I'd give 'em a try... they come in RED too so I can make a Red/Black theme or just go X-mas and go red/green

Okay, well, my thread is slowly moving down the board so I should post something.

No boots still! But I remembered I have a pair that I like anyways and are non-dress/nice boots, which is a plus. Theyll probly work.

I bought actual Krylon Fusion: black and white (gloss). I also got metallic for the heck of it, even though it's not fusion. I think it'll stick. So I sprayed some sample/scrap pieces tonight.

Nothing like a quick bump!

Can't wait to see the colours.

Sorry I don't had pictures yet but I got a lot of work done! Shaping is nearly complete; I'm using the hair dryer and my dads work bench to do it. It's perfect! I also painted a few pieces with silver and masked them with toothpaste(lol). I feel accomplished!

Tooth paste, hey thats a good idea, I think I'll steel that one.

You can also use mustard

I got toothpaste from another board.(I don't remember which one) And I don't like mustard. It's just not good tasting.

I am soooo excited about my beskar'gam!!! It's coming together! I got more shaping done and painted what pieces I could. Then I took some rags and tied them around the thigh and cod, attaching them with the cloth. I walked around proudly though it was kind of pathetic.

But I bet it was fun!!! I did the same thing when I was building my first set of beskar...

I know I'm really late picking up on this thread, but it's awesome. You know that Rotton makes the custom fem chest plates, you may think about that as an upgrade in the future. Your colors are great tho, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product!

The damage looks good vod!!! One thing you might want to do is take some silver to the edge of the shoulder bells; paint chips first along the edges and if you have taken all that interior damgae, a little chipping on the rim will round out the look.

The helmet is looking awesome!!! Are you going to glass then bondo it or...?

WOW is this your first armor? I had an idea for you if you could get a picture of a mandalorian symbol cut it out so its like a stencil you could paint it on your bells or chest plate or somthing
