Custom Mando Art

that's why I'm an officer! lol jk jk, it comes from experience, being a father teaches u a lot of things

lol hopefully i get that experience some day

it's one of those things that comes with time... or... well u know...lol As for knowing what to say, learned a lot from my dad, he always seemed to have the answers. When I had my young'un, it just kinda clicked and I started learning some amazing things about how to deal with people. I'm an officer and a father, I like to think being good at the one makes me better at the other... yeah that was a We Were Soldiers quote! lol

Just wanted to share with y'all what I have right now, and what I'm working on. As you can see, the first two sketches are entirely my own work... the first is the back view of Kal Waco's armor, once finished there will be dead vong littering the ground, smoke rising from the trishot barrels on the left wrist, vong blood dripping from the blades and a smokey haze filling in the background. The second is a request from MedievalWolf over on deviantart... it's his RC mando, the environment was my idea...inspired by my stay out in the backwoods of Washington State last week. The Third is a battlescene I'm still working on, yes Lev'ika that's you I'm dragging to the LZ there, and Fi's holdin' her own on the right side, with the Larty coming in to save the day... will probably draw in some fighters of some kind doing RESCAS under Kal's expert control... also will be adding a few more mandos and baddies in there as well. After that we have the original painting that inspired this sketch, and a few more images that I am using as inspiration for a few more sketches I am starting today/tomorrow... home on Saturday and I hope to have everything colored and scanned in either right before we move, or maybe right after.

ok more stuff has since been added... fitted in another of the direcats, another LAAT/i (larty) and a pair of bes'uliik fighters as well as plenty more bad guys. Now also have a few more dialogue boxes here and there. I think it's time to put that one on pause and start the next one... I think it's time for my SAS mando to make an appearance!

hmmm... i dunno maybe peace brigade and Vong, maybe seperatists... I dunno I've been in so many battles in so many eras! lol Especially since every time I get captured they decide I'm too dangerous and throw me and my team into cryostasis for twenty years! lmao

lol actually Pacx u're the dude hanging out of the Larty... besides, Fi's a medic too! lol Me thinks a medic would be more likely to treat the wound, whereas a guy like me ain't real sure how, so I just drag 'em to the medics and let them deal with it

I'm trained for certain types of injuries, but in a high stress situation where outbound fire/air support will be more likely to save 'em in the longterm than a bandage would... lol get 'em clear and go back to work

Make sure to throw in the odd jedi if it fits

Lol it would take me a day to get even one of those done

nah, the big one took me about 3 hours, the other took about 1.5... now with color it'd take even longer, usually color takes about twice as long.

Ya just wait until i start colouring, itll take me a week to get one done (sometimes it does already)

actually she's starting nursing school in the spring! I'm so proud of her, she got accepted to Oklahoma University... she's going to specialize in either pediatrics or emergency, she hasn't decided yet, but I keep tellin' her she has plenty of time to figure that out.

I attended a medical school for 3 years, and got a diploma in Emergency Medicine. It's kinda cool - I can take you apart, clean you, and put you back together again.

hey guys just wanted to let everybody know that I will have some backowed sketches and the completed sketches that I came up with on my own colored and ready to post by the time I get back from my vacation... not sure tho so we'll have to wait and see.

lmao yeah had to take the family to disney, we still had 3 days left on our tickets... we used all 3 days. Anyhow, relocating to OK on Monday, have to get outprocessed and finish packing this weekend, I'll do my best to get those sketches finished. I have 2 completely finished and 2 waiting for some finishing touches.

Pirates of the Carribean was actually closed the day we were there... shame, I actually wanted to see that one. The "Lights, Motors, Action" car stunts show and the Indiana Jones stunt show were awesome... my Ad'ika tried to do the Jedi Training Academy show at the Star Tours ride, but she's only 4 and that loud mouth huttuun of a Jetti scared her, she didn't stay up there very long. We did ride the Star Tours ride about 4 times tho, she loved that. Fi had a decent time at the Star Wars stuff too! (for once...lmao) We had 3 days and hit every single park except the water park... of course it was cold (for Florida) and raining most of the time but we still had a good time. BTW Pacx... bought 2 hotdogs in your honor ner vod! lol

I always have wondered what kind of star wars atractions that they have. We were going to go a while ago but the funds we did have ended up going towards other stuff :/

I know the feeling, still trying to figure out how I'm going to pay off that trip...lmao yeah the star wars attractions are cool, but they only have 1 ride and the 1 show, which features jettise of all characters, as well as Vader and a couple of stormies... the full motion sim ride is pretty cool tho, a little oldschool with the video sequences but it is very cool.

Nice even though i cant complain. We are hitting the west ed mall next weekend 3 days!

hey vode... I know u guys are expecting some colored sketches to get posted... problem is I didn't get 'em done before the move. We're now moved and trying to get settled in OKC, OK. So... I will be finishing up the sketches shortly and will get them posted as soon as possible. Now for some more exciting news... well, to me anyways! I just picked up a new book... on digital painting! Hopefully I will be able to use my new book to learn how to take my art to the next level with digital color and background.
