Nice looking costum mando you've got there... and if you could extend the collar peice i'm pretty sure it would look even better... if the edges of the chest peices and the collar match up the overall porpotions would suit you better as well as make your head look bigger.

Jo man, I'm really loving your armor, and I've been keeping an eye on it since you posted in HvM whenever ago. I really love your design, and the way your armor has turned out, keep up the great work.

Would you mind pming me your weathing technique, mine pretty much just looks crappy, and I'd like to upgrade it a little :P

    Thanks for the compliments folks!

Boba Swede, I might look into that...I can totally see what you mean though about the collar.

Nachturnus, I can actually lay it out right here. What I end up doing with my armor is making some cuts/chips in the armor with various tools. Then I spray everything with a coat of primer. Then I spray it all with a couple layers of silver. Then, I mask off the areas that I want the sliver to show through by covering it with either mustard, toothpaste, anything that can be "painted on" and that will wash off later. Then I spray the white over the sliver. After it dries to the touch, I take a toothbrush (i usually do this over the kitchen sink) and with some warm water I scrub the masked spots until the paint comes off. The next step is to tape off where the blue is going...then I mask over some of the sliver and some of the white. When I paint it with blue and scrub off the mask, I get the chips and scratches in the blue that go down to white, and some that go all the way down to silver. Hope that helps!

Jodo Kast 3, not yet. The project is on a bit of a standstill as my funds are a bit low for projects. I do plan to have the costume ready (complete minus jet pack) by Halloween.

dude, your a life saver, I've never actually thought about using a toothbrush to get some nice looking scrapes on my armor before, that's ingenius. Thanks for the help bro.

Yeah, I'm actually shooting to have Frost K'Amon V3.0 done by halloween as well.

EDIT: I just noticed that your mando skull on your chest plate isn't weathered. It kind of makes it stand out from the rest of the armor, so you may want to weather it up a bit.

    Good luck bro!

Bigger helmet isn't an option at this time. As I have stated though...it is first on my list for upgrades, no worries. Unless somebody has got a bigger fiberglas for under $100 LOL, it's gonna be awhile on a low income.

Keep in mind though too that since that picture was taken, I have installed a craft ring that has widened the helmet a bit. It honesly doesn't look nearly as small now.

I actually added the hose clamp because there was too much black on the blaster, it offers no functionality whatsoever. I'm gonna keep it though.
SgtFang's helmets are resin, shoot him a PM if you're interested. He has a larger bucket at a steal price!

The "masking" is what actually makes the scratches. If you take like a nail and dip it in mustard, then scrape it across the area to be painted, then it leaves the residue that you later scrub off with the toothbrush. The toothbrush is merely a tool to help get the paint that is stuck to the mustard off. Since the paint never stuck to the armor...it brushes away cleanly.

I forgot to mention that I also used little scraps of rough sandpaper to add a few scratches, whacked the armor with a screwdriver to make more chips, and scuffed it with an old black shoe to make the scuff marks.

    Oh yeah...don't forget the misting.

Yeah, I use the mustard method as well, but I never really thought of using a nail or something to make a line of residue, I've actually been using a knife to cut open the bubbles of paint, and washing the mustard out in the sink. Brilliant idea!
