Custom Mandalorian Progress

Active Hunter
Figured I'd show you all the progress I'm making on my custom Mando so far. I'm about 75-80% done.

"Halfway" Concept
This was the pic I took of all my progress so far. At the time of the picture I didn't have a visor and my chest plates were not painted yet. So I used some "digital manipulation" to create the effect of the visor and painted chest plates. The real thing will look pretty much like that. The only things missing now are the shoulder pieces, gauntlets, knees, thighs, boots, and cape.

Let me know what you think. I'll update more as I work on it.

Looks good, man. Got a name for it? It never feels right to have a custom character with no name. How much were those gauntlets, by the way?

Jo, you are really coming along on this. Great job so far. Now you just have to bring it to Wizard World Chicago :p

Everything looks great, but the helmet is too small for you..I'd say upgrade to a larger one when you can it will make the costume look 100% better. I really like the colors you are using.

Upgrades will happen in the eventual future...and trust me...a helmet will be the first one.

But actually, just tonight I decided to add the craft ring and scored myself some extra inches of width and depth. Now I'll actually have to get some foam to help hold it on snug. :D

Very cool custom idea! Looks good so far.

You might want to bend the chest armor a little more to get it to follow your body, it appears to stick out a little on the sides.

Can't wait to see how this looks finished.

Yeah. That armor was actually taped onto my vest just for the picture. It is still exactly how it was out of the box. I've got to start work on bending it to fit and then painting it (as the paint job was photoshopped). My wife's snap press machine should be arriving this week or next and I'll get a couple of snaps and some velcro put onto the vest.

Wow, it's been a couple months since I've updated here.

Let's start with some shots of my widened helmet:

My guantlets got a couple coats of paint:

And finally, just this weekend I got some painting work done on my chest armor:

I was pretty impressed with myself...I made a custom stencil out of some strips of masking tape and an exacto knife. :D

I also agree. The colors and concept are great! (y)

But you have to get a larger helmet. You are a pretty big guy with what looks like a teeny tiny head. Like a reverse bobble-head... ;)

Can you find something to replace that hose clamp on your blaster? Either that, paint it black or something so it doesn't stand out.
