custom armor

hello everyone, i haven't posted anything on TDH before but without everyone else on here i wouldn't have been able to make anything resembling a mando. Also sorry for posting this as showoff but i can't seem to upload anymore of my very few pics (maybe 10) to upload. ill try again in a little while. It's about 90% and hopefully done fore dragon con, if not maybe celebration VI.

My only real gripe is the iphone, there was no iphone touch pad like anything in 1970 when they made the SW stuff everything had real buttons on it from calculators and other bits, I would try and stick to what would be on a Star Wars movie suit it only makes sense to look like u fit in, otherwise its looking good

sorry but theres no where else to put it or answer it with a helmet on, the calculator was on to see what it was and the only thing that wasn't a game or something

If you CANT live without a phone for that long u could have a blue tooth...and if you dont have pouches on your suit your wrong.

Im not saying it looks bad just not right....kinda like putting those silly vents on the side of a car they dont belong there. Its not period specific. Kinda out of place. Im not trying to be mean about it just giving my opinion...Id like to and have Customs to the same standard as a Boba.

sorry pouches don't fit my phone, its cool if you don' like it you don't have to were it. It's not about living without my phone but i'm not planning on holding hands with everyone while i'm at a
convention which is probably the only time ill be wearing it, but criticism noted.

Looking great man. I love the desert look of the armor, and the color scheme works really well. However, I think it would be really cool if you replicated the stripe going up your chest, (the lighter tan one) and added a stripe like that to your helmet. It would make your helmet stand out more, and also make the color scheme look more consistent.

thanks Aeronnez, i do like the stripe idea. i think i originally wanted it on there when i began working on the color scheme, must have forgot about it before i started painting. i'll post pics if i
decide to do it.

not much more done but i want i wanted to show how im gonna light it. hopefully since its such a small area the 5mm led will work but if not i'll use the star led its only a 1watt so it won't take to
much power but i don't want to heat sink and resistor it.

that looks a little familiar lol. looking good, how did you seal the edges ?

LOL, its 1/4" sintra so i only had to sant it smooth, i did have to fill a few chips with bondo but i cut it about 1/16" big then sanded it to the proper size so there weren't to many.

i didn't put the front sights on it to make it fit in the holster easier and less breakable parts i'm about to start painting so i'll post more soon.

well i painted the blaster but i dont like the way it came out. it was satin black which i had used on something else but on the blaster it looks like gloss so im gonna get some flat black and then weather it and hopefully it will look better.

Love the desert paint colors! Killer craftsmanship! The way you did the phone gives me ideas... i am having issues figuring out how to incoperate my phone into my bracers... my phone isnt a smart phone, it is a flip up brick. Keep up the good work. I love custom pieces like your gun to

thanks Zero, don't do the phone if you're planning on joining the mercs though, i haven't applied but i read they don't approve of current tech on your costume. Personally i think if star wars was made today any mando would have his own mandalorian made tablet powered by Android 10G (the fastest network in the galaxy!)

Thanks for the heads up with the mercs but i have no plans on joining them, I have had my fair share of interactions with them and short of bad mouthing them… I wasn’t impressed. But you are right, imho about the tech, bigger better if they had it they would have used it. Not to mention that "Mandalorian armor was an expression of the wearer's individuality while still presenting a united and largely unmistakable face identifying the wearer as a Mandalorian" Hence 'custom armor'

About the phone...

There are certainly tablet touchpads in the prequels. If George doesn't care about continuity, why should a Mando? I think the suit looks great, and the phone is clever.
